JQuery :: Inline-defined Functions Doesn't Work With $.noConflict()
Aug 12, 2011
When creating a new element by using HTML string, we can define a function inline so that we don't have to write another line of javscript code to bind the function to the element. It is very convenient.
The Firefox 3.6.12 displays only: =========== Start =========== 10_ShowClassesAndTypes Starting 10_ShowClassesAndTypestesting dw =========== End ============
The "dw" function writes nothing. Suggestion on how to get "shorthand document.write" function working. In the meantime I'm going to see if I can get Protype to provide a shorthand function.
No syntax errors - nothing should be getting in the way of this. All I'm trying to do is implement a different an "onclick" call, which calls the function and AJAXes in some values. Here's my code:
I am trying to include two functions in an onchange when the user selects a new value from a select list: It is a quite big form form - There are one select list, when changed - TWO other fields in the form needs to change accordingly: I put the information back using ajax and place it within a <span id="blah"></span>; I have checked the span ids, and they are correct! Unfortunately, the second function disables the first one This is the select list with the onchange functions:
I have 2 custom JQuery files..Now the sequence in the header of the HTML file is as follows1. Jquery Library2. File 13. File 2The problem im facing is that, file two is not recognizing functions created in file one... ex..
How to access the functions defined in scripts of URL loaded in iframe using jquery ?Following is the much more elaboration of question :I have Sample.html :
<html> <head><script type="javascript"> function sumfunction(var i, var j)
Im trying to add a cross browser event listener to an element so i made my own function that detects weather the browser is IE or Firefox, then add the appropriate eventListener function to the element.
Code JavaScript: // CROSS-BROWSER ADD EVENT HELPER METHODS function addCrossBrowserEventListener (elementName, eventName, functionName) { // does the addEventListener function exist?
[Code]....
but when i run the code inside Firefox i get a error message "name.addCrossBrowserEventListener is not a function".
So I'm wondering is it possible to add custom functions to elements directly or is there any special way of doing it.
I'm having an issue in that when I display:inline a DIV onClick, the DIV is not expanding to the width specified in the stylesheet. Similarly, my TDs would not use their colspan attribute.
I have a form, with a submit button. Inside this form i have one input text field, in addition to an add more button to add more of that input field using JQuery .html(val);. Now the issue appears when I submit the form, all inline added input fields are not recognized, they are not set and there is no data for them in the POST.
This is a makeshift sort function for a table. I want to replace a div contents with a javascript function call. It works fine if I define the individual case, but the general case doesn't work. The problem lies with the +divHold+ part. It never converges to the passed value on the 2nd iteration. This is my Div:
I have written a number of functions designed to return frequency data on 1000 randomly chosen numbers using different math functions for the rounding. I would like to include all of these functions within the wrapper of another function so that only one call is needed to get returns from all of the 'inner' functions. However, while each of the functions works in isolation, the moment I wrap them in another function they stop working. :confused:
The following code is one of the functions 'frequencyWrapperOne' that has been wrapped in the function 'testWrapper'. A call to testWrapper does nothing.
function testWrapper() { function frequencyWrapperOne() {
I cant get my cookie to work. I believe its not my javascript that is wrong. Can anyone take a look to see what i did wrong in my cookie? I have to pages dropdown1.html and dropdown2.html. Both pages have the same exact dropdown list. There is also a javascript file called script.js which makes it so you get an error if you select the same option on the second drop down list as the first. Also in the script.js i have a cookie that should run so dropdown2.html should now what was selected in dropdown1.html Can anyone see if i made a mistake in either my javascript code in my cookie? Right now I am not getting the error message if you select the same option as the first. Ill show all my code incase you need it for reference
dropdown1.html
Code:
Code:
Script.js (this is the part where I cant figure out why the error message does not appear on the second dropdown menu if user selects the same option as the first)
I have a problem where I have to use jQuery.noconflict(), but I have no idea how to use it properly.I'm working with some richfaces elements which uses the richfaces jQuery version and the countdown plugin from keith-wood.name/countdown.html which need another jQuery plugin.If I include the files for the coundown, the countdown works but the modalPanels didn't and vice versa.
I'm pretty new to jquery and I've been working on a little project to see what I can do. The issue is when I first visit the page and click the first link that appears in the main section it displays the popup box as wanted. Now when I click another day, for instance sunday and try to click the first link it doesn't do anything. And if I click back to Saturday the first link also doesn't do anything.
It seems something is not properly activating or maybe a command is overwriting and not allowing it to work like it does when you first hit the landing page.
I have a slideshow using jQuery and just added an apple overlay to the same page, and for some reason, now the slideshow will not work..Here are the links I have..:
I integrated JQuery UI, and I have the JQuery tabs working. Since Joomla uses mootols, I had to include thejQuery.noConflict(); And the tabs script " $ " is replaced by JQuery.
However, when I add the Cycle widget, and I replace the $ sign for JQuery, the widget does not work. If I use the $ sign, the widget works. I want to keep my code tidy. Can somebodyenlightenme on this situation?
I wondered if two jQuery functions work at the same time on the web page. I did practice one with two jQuery functions, just one function work while other isn't. What is causing it? What should I do to prevent having one is working while others isn't ? Is there a code to put in there to prevent it? If so, where should it be at?
I'm having trouble using jquery with Rails. I know there are a few plug-in solutions but I am more designer than developer and the rest of my team isn't excited about changing to a new plug-in midstream.I want to be able to write my jquery and be able to have the least impact on existing code. This means that I have to use the noconflict method. Originally I was trying to use Rails to write all my jQuery into one document ready statement but I recently found out you can have more than oneNow my problem is that my jQuery variable isn't always ready byt the time my document ready function runs. For example:
var $j = {}; $j = jQuery.noConflict(true); $j(document).ready(function(){
I've never been here before and probably shouldn't be let loose with this level of codey stuff but here goes. On my site at [URL].. I'm having problems with getting the Page title to show: It sort of flashes up but is quickly replaced by the browser name. I've discovered that if I remove the few lines containing the NoConflict commands (below) <script type='text/javascript'> var $jq = jQuery.noConflict(); </script> ...then the Page Title is fine. But: Of course I lose my second JQuery effect (in this case it's the tooltip). Frustrating. This seems to be a conflict with the NoConflict... right?
