JQuery :: Datepicker - Doesn't Work On Initial Focus
Jul 17, 2011
This is frustrating! I'm using the stock jQuery UI Datepicker; it will open on click, but not on focus. What's strange is, if I tab through the entire page and come around to the target field again, it
<em>does</em> open! Here's my HTML:
Code HTML4Strict:
<ul>
<li class="black bold">
<label for="datepickX" class="labelDatefield">Select activation date for [ProductX]:</label>
[Code]...
For some reason, if I use the Datepicker within Dialog (both part of jQuery UI), the Datepicker doesn't work. If I use a TextBox (asp.net control, equivalent to type input=text) outside of the Dialog, the Datepicker works just fine.
i have to txt <inputs> on a php web page, which use the jquery datepicker. however when i do an ajax refresh of one of the spans on the page, the datepicker wont pop up any more unless i do a reload of the whole page?
$("#username").bind('blur',function(){ val = $(this).val(); if(val == ""){ alert("Username is a required field, please fill it in!"); $("#username-div").css("background-color", "#eeccdd"); $("#username-error").html("Please fill this"); $(this).focus(); } });
this code doesnt seem to focus. i have also tried Javascript and even that isnt working? Basically i would like that input box with id username to be focused if user leaves it empty and moves to next form field?
I have succesfully applied the datepicker to a blank textbox. However, when I apply the datepicker to a textbox with the initial value dynamically set to display a value from a database, the date picker genertes an error when anything on it is selected. The datepicker will display when the trigger icon is selected but you cannot select anything from the date picker without generating the following errors: When selecting:
a day: 'undefined' is null or not an object (ui.datepicker.js line 767) a month or year: 'input' is null or not an object (ui.datepicker.js line 755) a back or forward arrow: 'settings' is null or not an object (u.i datepicker.js line 1137) I have looked at these lines in the file, but I have no idea where to begin.
At the moment, I have datepicker working on my page, and I really like it. When I tab through my form, and the date field receives the focus, the calendar opens. I pick a date and it closes. but some times I'm tabbing backwards through a form, or tabbing over a date field that already has a date in it, and just want to "tab on by". Datepicker open when the date field receives the focus, but does not close when the date field loses the focus.
I am trying to use DatePicker ui. I have uploaded "js" and "css" files in the same directory where my script resides. I also downloaded "jquery" in jquery.js file in the same directory. When I run the script, the field is displayed but the DatePicker widget doesn't show up.
I'm writing a page where I'd like to generate a bunch of fields using javascript and then make them usable by datepicker. The problem I'm running into is that when I first click on one of the javascript generated fields, datepicker doesn't load. However, if I click on a second instance of that same field name, then datepicker will load properly. My guess is that I'm just defining the function incorrectly for these events.
I'm trying to implement the datepicker and I have two fields on my form:Birthdate& Lived here since? In my header I have:
[Code]...
When I click on the 1st date field (birthday) it mostly works... I say mostly because it doesn't appear to be pulling in that css as the widget is pretty spread out and has no borders etc. When I click on the 2nd date field (here since?), absolutely nothing happens. Surely this supports multiple date fields on the same form so what am I doing wrong?
[code]When I run the page, I'm able to type whatever gobbledegook I want in the textbox. Am I misunderstanding something? I want the user to not be able to type anything but the format '01-Apr-2011' in the textbox. Is that achievable with the jquery datepicker? Alternatively, I would be perfectly fine with the user not being able to *type* anything at all, and have the datepicker UI be the *only* way to put input into the textbox. (I tried setting it to read-only, but that ended up making datepicker-changes display-but-not-save.
I would like to access the create call back function. So far no luck. It appears the function is not getting executed. Any ideas where I may be going wrong? code...
This is a makeshift sort function for a table. I want to replace a div contents with a javascript function call. It works fine if I define the individual case, but the general case doesn't work. The problem lies with the +divHold+ part. It never converges to the passed value on the 2nd iteration. This is my Div:
I tried to use fade in the code below, it works in firefox but not ie7.
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I have a problem with hide() method on ie9: if I put this command after a flag, it (hide) doesn't work anymore.Obviously the same code works pertefect on firefox.[code]
For my work i need to make a form. At some points you have to choose an option from a dropdown select box. After you have chosen one of those some other field appear under the dropdown thing. I use the slideToggle event for this effect. In firefox its all working fine, but in ie 6.0 and 7.0 it doesnt work. What do need:A dropdown menu with a few options in it. You can choose one of those and after you select it a few other options apear under the dropdown menu.
I do $(".c:not(:last)").css({borderColor:"#0f0"}) This is OK in Firefox, but in IE all columns get this color. The :not selector doesn't work in IE. Why not?
I try to navigate through the cycle slideshow with a select box. This works fine in FF and IE9. But when I open the page in IE8 nothing happens when I click the select box.
