I have been trying to integrate Big Cartel into a wordpress site using their external API but I've got some issues getting the script working in a wordpress page. It seems to be working how I want it in Chrome and Safari but not in FF and IE? The coding for the page is below.... why this wouldn't work in those browsers?

I use this library for almost all my slideshows, and have not had a problem up until now. I know the JS files being referenced are correct, the image paths are correct, so what seems to be the hiccup here? I am willing to bet its something simple.

I have used your great plugin for a menu in Wordpress 2.8.4 and I wanted to use the default Wordpress jQuery library jquery.js?ver=1.3.2 but your plugin Superfish wouldn't work. I added the jquery-1.2.6.min.js file and it did work OK. Since there is no reason to have calls to two jQuery libraries which are doing the same thing I wanted to only use the default Wordpress jQuery version. After some searching I found an answer at this site:[url]..
I changed this to: jQuery(document).ready(function($){ Notice the $ function being moved. This now works OK using the default Wordpress jQuery version 1.3.2. and I imagine with the latest version of jQuery.

In my page I have a modal dialog that i use to pull in external content from another site within my domain. I pull in html content that has a document.ready function which then pulls in external js files. This works fine in firefox and ie but in chrome the document ready is not even being fired - it will only load the html content. How can I get that to work properly in chrome? Is this a security restriction?

I am creating a table at runtime using DHTML and registering event for the table row click. When i deploy this application on web server and browse the application, the events fires in firefox and chrome but in IE the events are not fired. If i browse the application from the server with localhost, the application triggers the events and fails when i use machine name.

I'm really new at JavaScript, but I thought an image map with rollover images would be a relatively basic feat... I have a large map with hotspots over individual states. I want the user to hover over a hotspot and for the main image to change, displaying information for that particular state. I've tried code that other developers have sworn works in all browsers, but still can't get the same functionality in FF or Chrome as I do in IE.

I need to use a couple of third-party Javascript libraries which have multiple JS files. Since @require doesn't work on Chrome, how can I add multiple external JS libraries to a userscript? I'm considering all the possibilities before choosing one.I know you can add jQuery using this method. I have personally used that. But all my other code would have to run inside the main function of this code! I think that would be a problem when there are many libraries to work with.

I want to pull the prices from the sheet, and make them appear on the page. I'd like to pull it from the sheet so that the client can still adjust and edit the prices without having to reach the actual webpage. Conceptually, I thought this would be fairly straight forward, but in researching how to do this, I got very confused. I'm not even positive that I'm putting this in the right section.
So my main question is this: Is there a way to integrate an Excel spreadsheet in such a way that it can provide data for certain fields of a webpage? If so, can someone please explain how?
Is it possible to use javascript to write information to a log file that's on an external site? What I want to do is have a person put their name and birthday into a form on my site, and then output that information to a partnering site's log file which would be something like www.whatever.com/whatever.file Is this possible? what file type can javascript write to? The script works very well.Off late, I've been reading up on Javascript on w3schools and realised that I could move the script to an outside file and share it gloabally because I have galleries on seven pages that uses the same code. This works perfectly well, locally, on my desktop. But when I uploaded it to my hosting site(go daddy), the javascript doesn't work. This code worked perfectly well earlier when it was inside the HTML.Some of the classes I've used for the dropdowns are defined in a external styling sheet. I know for a fact that this styling sheet is accessible because the gallery styling is applied. It is only the dropdowns that don't work. I've checked on google and other forums and while the problem of JS not working on the hosting exists, it doesn't match the problem I'm facing. I am also able to access the JS file using the navbar and double checked the path.Can someone please help? I'm posting the JS code, the CSS styling and the HTML code below:

I've just downloaded cluetip 1.1.3. After opening index.html in the demos folder with Chrome 12.0.742, I've noticed that when the ajax tooltips popup they don't contain any content. The other tooltips (title and local tooltips) work fine. I've tried opening the demos in IE8 and all the tooltips are displayed fine. Strangely, when I try the demos on the official page [URL] using Chrome everything works fine.

I just discovered Jquery just yesterday... I was looking for another way to display a website menu (simple HTML with javascript code) instead of an iframe. I found an amazing solution using Jquery on a Yahoo! answer page.
I have no idea what's wrong because the "external HTML file" simply do not appear in Chrome 12... Nothing!
I'm sure this is not a HTML coding error issue because my code complies HTML 5 (I used the W3C Markup Validation Service ) AND everything(display and behavior)works extremely fine on Explorer 9, Safari 5 and Firefox 4.
My "main HTML file" only contains a fixed background image... and will be the template for all page of my site for specific content.
My"external HTML file" (the site's menu) only contains a 3 rows table (for positionning) and an unordonned link list with onmouseover and onmouseout javascript calls.
The javascript code is stored in an external .js file.
The css code is stored in an external .css file.
I use thecurrent minified version ofJquery.
All these files are in the same local folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have written the below script to swap images in a main viewer for a gallery on a website (I apologise if the script is not very elegant I have only just started learning JS).The idea is there are 2 divs one positioned on top of the other, when the user clicks on one of the thumbnail images the div on the bottom changes to the new image, then the top div fades to transparent to reveal the new image, then once the top div is completely transparent it's image is swapped for the new image and it is made opaque again.Anyway elegant or not the script works fine in Firefox, Safari, Camino and (shockingly) IE, but it doesn't work at all in Chrome.
