I need to somehow hide this block of HTML code in my page. Now I have no control over the code as it comes from another site so there is no ID or anything. If the <a> or <td> tags had ID I could hide it with javascript.

I am new to JQuery. I am using Block UI in my application.In submit button onclick event, i am performing client side validations ( required fied validators )in asp.net.On clicking submit button,whole page is blocked and at the same time validation message is also displayed and page remains blocked. While performing client side validations i don't want to block the page.

I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

So I'm making an ecommerce store and I'd want to hide a product scroller and a banner if the page is any other than index.php, and I know jQuery has the .hide function, but all the examples link it to a button/link/other but I don't understand how to code a conditional statement that hides the code if the page loaded is anything else than index.php.

I'm working on a simple slideshow made with jQuery. What I'm trying to do now, is to make it change image every X second. I know how to change image, but i'm kind of stuck trying to find out how to make it "do something" every Xth second.

The thing is that I would like to stop pop-over (optin form) from loading on some pages (squeeze page,review pages etc.) and can't find a way to do that. We are talking about wordpress blog here... View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering whether there is a way to hide an element on another page after clicking on a button?Basically, I have a login page, and for testing purposes, I want it so when you click a button, it runs some javascript in a file called ajax.util.js, and I have a jQuery file attached to the HTML file as well URL..., and I am using Google App Engine, which im not sure whether thats relevant. I tried using the show and hide functions provided by the jQuery file, but no luck, i want to hide an element which is a link with ID admintools. I have also tried getting the element by ID and changing the display style to none and hidden but still no luck. Im not sure whether its only possible to hide elements in the login.html page.
What I want it to do basically is click on the submit button in the login page, it will then run a javascript function which redirects you to index.html (which i am doing using window.location), and then hides an element in the index.html page (id=admintools).

This works fine when I place this code under the html in the main source, but if I try to add this Jquery code to an external js sheet it doesnt seem to work?
Currently my js sheet is called in the header, when I move this link to the footer of my page the code works again, so Im guessing this has something to do with where the jquery code is placed in relation to the code Im trying to hide?
How I can keep my js in the header but still make the content disappear on click?
I found a Java that could hide two <div> with an id="widescreen" on my sharepoint2007 page. But when I added a certain webpart, my script did not triger.
Then I found a jquery scirpt that I used to hide some list hedings. I noticed that the jquery script do triger even with the webpart on page, that blocked the javascript.
Im a bit lost with java and jquery, but it would be nice if I could get the java into jquery format, and try if that works beter.

To build a menu block which should be switchable with hide/unhide of the menu items, I'm using .append html. The code idea is this:

As can be seen from above posted code there is a line "<div id="' + menuSlider + '" style="display:none">". Appending that -- AFAIS -- the .append is automatically (????) adding "</div>" which closes the statement. That breaks my idea of the whole concept! The menu part isn't included in the 'menuSlider '. QQ: How to change it -- NOT to have that "</div" added to it??
