Getting Form Data Across Refresh

I have a web page with one text box, one button, one link. This text box shows different text at every refresh, the button click refreshes the page with OnClick="history.go(0)" -- this works fine. While clicking this link, the page shows more fields ( check box, drop down - things like that ). Once after choosing certain data in those check box and other input fields ! Clicking that button shows new data in text box - but this selected input are gone ?! How can I have that across refresh !! Am new to web programming. I know it is possible to do with cookies - storing the input and accessing but is there any other simple way ?!

I have a form that has a view underneath it with live data from a database. I need to refresh the page every 60 seconds, but if someone is filling out the form I don't want them to loose the information they are in progress of entering.

In my jsp,Struts project i am using the javascript calendar control for selecting the date and by using function calcage() i am calculating the age of the user but problem occurs when the page refreshes OR when user updated the other values such as name ,contact no. Then the value of the age is set as 0 in the textfield as 0

When the page is refreshed, the data disappears.

I am attempting to create a profile page with PHP utilizing AJAX technologies as well. I need profile data to auto-refresh on the page when a change is made in the database but every 15-30 seconds intervals are fine too. I would really like to use AJAX/PHP for this because I think it will be good for me to know and learn.
I have checked the internet for this and all of the examples show a form select/combobox where you select a "User" and then it populates the information automatically in a div below.
But... I need AJAX or PHP to READ THE VARIABLE FROM THE URL instead of a form(Combobox) and ultimately refresh the data on the page with the results from the DB query in the php file.

I want to be able to open a window with a variable. For example, I will use domain.com?reference=1234- This link will open a pop up window as follows:

When I open this window, it is always showing data put in last, it isnt refreshed. I wanted to open this pop up window, enter data and then click submit and make the data enter the database and then refresh the parent window. Every time I have done this, either the parent or the pop (or both) is showing old data.

Actually I am using AJAX to submit a form, a form opens through ajax request but I need to refresh the page to take the effect of the dynamic data, which is being saved,updated or deleted on the page. So is there any way where focus of the page remains there when I refreshed the page

Relatively new to jQuery but have a problem with getting data to display.Using a webform with 2 forms. User slects and inputs data into the first form, clicks a button then using jQuery .ajax submits the serialized data to a php script. The script processes the input into multiple paragraphs of text which is based on the input from the first form.The data is returned to the webpage and displayed in a text area (of the 2nd form) where the user can edit it to fine tune the wording. The 2 forms are displayed in different tabs so it is easy to move back and forward between the 2 forms.
The problem occurs when the user goes back to the first form and enters or selects different text and then click the submit button to generate a whole new text for insertion into the textarea on the second form. For certain fields the modified text is displayed.However if the whole of the text in the textarea is deleted, then the user clicks the submit button to re-generate the text content area then nothing at all is ever interted into the textarea. If have user alert to check that data is returned from the php handler and this text is correct. BUT when I click on the tab to see the textarea (id is "draftrec") there is no text inserted. The relevant function is below and the line that should insert the text into the textarea is:

I have a small app, my first real ajax project, which gives you details for product availability, for each day. The user selects a day (from a calendar) and then a time slot within the day. The app then displays how many slots are available for purchase, on that day, for that time... I wanted to refresh the data, every 5s, to provide slick real time availability info... but alas, when you change day (look at another day and time), the old timer still runs with the old arguments, and so it keeps resetting the 'details' panel to the previous day's details... how do I reset the timer? or delete the old one?

I'm trying using this good example [URL] but I need to use it with more than 1 parameter. What I'm trying to do is a form with two fields (i.e. Name and city) who feed a query. The results of the query should be shown below the form.

I am running into a problem, that no one else in the world seems to have. When I make a form and submit the page is refreshed, or rather redirected to a state with the values filled after the ? [URL]
I have found solutions that have worked for other people, none of them work for me. I have tested my forms on multiple browsers on multiple systems and the problem persists.
Here is one example of my code where this happens.

I want to refresh the calculations on a form without submitting the form. I have tried two different JavaScript button codes, and I'm wondering if there is a reason for using one over the other, and if there is something else better for cross-browser use.

I want to have two options on a form, one to refresh the form, and another to submit the form.
the way i have it set up now is through a regular html form with asp doing the calculations needed in it. if i change the value in a textbox, i want to be able to press refresh and have asp recalculate it. i'm able to do that, but now i don't have a way to actually submit the form because i already have a form method that sends it back to asp for recalculation.
can you think of a way to submit a form to two different locations based on two different buttons?

I would like to have a main form (written in PHP) that has a "lookup" button next to a text field. When the user clicks "lookup", it should open a new window that lets them search (child.page1). When they enter a name or DOB into the search form, it submits the form through PHP (via POST), to a results page (child.page2). This displays all persons in the database which have a name or DOB == to the search term(s), with a checkbox next to each match. They click the checkbox (or alternenatively, a link), and return the checkbox value to the main window.
I have everything working right now, except that (child.page2) doesn't recognize the main window. If the data is entered on (child.page1), it works fine. I'm not very familiar with javascript.. is this even possible? I've considered using frames, to keep the parent-child relationship evident to the computer, but figured I'd check to see if there's an easier way.

All I need is a MySQL update by pressing the submit button. The user sould't get on the php site by pressing the Submitbutton and when it's possible there should't be a page refresh by pressing the submit button.
The jquery.form.js plugin also didn't work that way.

I want to have a form to select between English and Spanish on a site. Upon selecting a radio buton (I prefer to do this without a submit button - just select the radio button and move on), I want a cookie to be set for which selection has occured and then be taken to that page. On the return visit I'd like to check for this cookie and then be sent to the correct page if it exists. Anyone have any ideas? I've found a few cookie tutorials and things, but they invole a submit button or a manual page refresh after the selection.

When you press the subscribe button (beside RSS), a form drop down (which is initially hidden), and it is then validated (for email) and once submitted replaced with a thank you message. I need to duplicate this.
