I have this form which has 4 fields that must not be empty on submit, I been trying to make an array that checks them.
<form action="login.php" method="post" onsubmit="return(checkAll(this))">
<label>Username<br /><input id="input[]" type="text" name="username" /></label><br />
<label>Email<br /><input id="input[]" type="text" name="email" /></label><br />

I have a little jQuery script (that someone helped me with on stackoverflow) that makes each row of an HTML table clickable which toggles a corresponding checkbox 9and changed row bg color to orange). Its all here..[URL]... A little bug that i caught was that if you check an element and then refresh the page, the value is still checked but the row is no longer orange.
So what I am trying to do is create an onLoad which checks if each row's checkbox is checked and if so, toggle that row's selected class.

The are two drop down boxes, the first one populating the second (state/county --> town)The first box is single choice, the second is multiple choice. I'm looking for a script that would be able to deal with generating the code for all possible values that could be chosen in the second drop down box.The drop down boxes are part of a form which allow people to search for educational courses within areas of a state/county.

I have a multiple select box that is dynamically populated based on a selection from another select box. There are 3 possible results:
1. Every click on the parent select box replaces the html of the child <select> with a "Loading..." message. Then it runs an ajax request to a server side page that returns JSON data back to the post-processing function.
In that post-processing function I check to see if any data was returned for that selection.
2. If data was returned, replace the child multi-select with the data.
3. If no data was returned then replace the child multi-select with a default message.
Now the problem I'm seeing. When I select an item from the parent select that I know returns data, the child multi-select seemingly doesn't update, but when I mouse over the select I see the changes.
BUT! On a whim, I created another <div> just to see if it was in fact a problem with the select, so everytime I updated the <select> I also updated this new <div>. Magically it all worked. So what I ended up doing is keeping the <div> there, just set it to display:none and now it works like it "should".
I'm using jQuery.ajax and jQuery.html to handle the processing.

I've been searching the net for a while, for the easiest multiple random images code and found it. But now I've also been searching for a script to link all single images to a different link (link z1.jpg to home.html, z2.jpg to contact.html, x1 to banana.html, etc.).
This is the script I'm using:
Code:
<script language="javascript">
<!--
var gallery = new Array();
gallery[0] = new Array("z1.jpg","z2.jpg","z3.jpg","z4.jpg","z5.jpg");
[Code]....

Using jQuery Validate to do it's job of validating a form. Problem is I need to get at least one phone number recorded in the form - either a Telephone or Mobile (Cell).Is there any inbuilt way of setting up the rules to do this?I have seen the Milk demo for the validate plugin where there's something similar, but the 'name' attribute is the same, something that's not going to be the same for two different text inputs.

One of my HTML forms uses pairs of "checkbox/text" inputs. Each checkbox is printed on the left of the text input, but is written before that field as it must be justified on the right (float:right).
<li>
<input name="footer_company" type="text" style="float:right;" />
<input name="footer_company_checkbox" type="checkbox"
checked="checked">Company name :</input>

I cant get this each function to work inside a form: For example I have this code:
$('#formid>input').each(function(){
if($(this).attr('id')!='') alert($(this).attr('value'); //fetch id if
not blank ang show value
});
The code inside this function does not run if the form is rendered this way:
<form><div id='tabs" >
<ul>...</ul><div id='tab1">
<input type='text' id='fname' /></div>
</div></form>
But if it is rendered in a simplier way like this, it works:
<form><input type='text' id='fname' /></form>
I am using jquery jquery-ui-1.7.2.custom.main.js library by the way for the tabs but I don't think that messes up the whole thing though...

I have a form that is initially submitted by normal submit button, but after that I want it to resubmit on change(). I thought I'd be able to pick up the secondary change()s by adding a class to all of the inputs. However I now understand that won't work by default because the change() can't be attached to the class added by the the submit() as it didn't exist at the time, it was added by Jquery. I've since discovered on() but I'm now stuck on where to include it.
Here's the script so far:
The submit() adds the 'stu' class, and then the change() tries to select it but can't
<script>
$(document).ready( function(){
$("#search_choices").submit( function(evt){
runSearch();
$("input").addClass("stu");
evt.preventDefault();
});
});
$('.stu').change( function(){
runSearch();
});
function runSearch(){
var sFor
= $("#for").val(),
sWhere
= $('input[name=where]:radio:checked').val();
$("#search_results").load('search.php', { where: sWhere, treb: sFor } );
};
</script>

I have been practicing using canvas to make designs. My current code below will load the word the user inputs and makes it bounce around the canvas as well as a text spinner. However, whenever the user inputs a second word, the bounce below stops to start a new one and the text spinner messes up. so when the user inputs another word, that it either reloads a new textspinner or adds another one, as well as just add the word to the canvas without stopped the old one.

I'm trying to write a macro, but I'm lost. So say if I have an array of keywords to check for on a web page,
var keywords=new Array();
keywords[0]="You are a cat";
keywords[1]="Are you a robot";
keywords[2]="Have a good summer";
How would I make a function that checks the currently opened web page for one of the specific keywords. And if that keyword is found, then execute some action - and if not, then execute some other action?

What is a cross-browser way to check if a function has been defined?
It seems that this code
if (myFn) {
myFn();
}
executes whether myFn is defined or not. When it is not, a JS error
results.
