Form Validation Field Values Not Saved If One Field Is Not Completed/invalid?
Feb 3, 2009The following form validation script works, currently if one of the five fields are completed, a message appears the remaining field(s) must be completed etc. Although the information the user has inputted in the first field is cleared. How can this information be available, if there is one problem in the form it doesn't make sense that the user must re-input all the information again. I look forward to hearing your response,

Mar 4, 2010I have 2 fields in a form, field1 is type hidden while field2 is type text.Both will have numbers in them. I need to compare these 2 in my form validation and having issues getting it to work right. If I do something similar to the following:if ((passForm.field1.value) < (passForm.field2.value) ) {alert.....It runs, but is running the validation, but is reading the values as text and literally left to right.
so for example
If field1 = 12 and field2=3 it does not run the alert (wrong)
If field1 = 12 and field2=100 it runs the alert (wrong)

My other problem is posted under the heading, "Modify code created with Dreamweaver CS3, to compare two text feilds". For this posting, can someone please tell me how to modify my code, pasted below, so that the "First Name" and "Last Name" text fields are restricted to accepting only alphabetical characters.

Aug 6, 2005i'm fairly new to regular expression and want to know if it's possible to check a text field value. I need to only accept value between 0 and 20. I've got also a problem with the 0 value ... guess the script think it's false :

Jun 17, 2010I have a small piece of code (taken largely from W3 Schools)that checks that there is a decimal point entered in a form field, but what I really need is to check that the number entered ends in 2 decimal places.
e.g.
10 is Invalid
10.00 is Valid
My current code is below. Can someone explain what I need to do to ensure that the user enters a number including two trailing decimal places please?

Oct 21, 2011I am trying to setup a textbox to only accept specific keys. The problem is, some of the Function keys are reading as the same values as letters.Ex.
112 - F1 - p
113 - F2 - q
114 - F3 - r[code]....
Is there another way to allow the function keys without enabling all matching letters as well?

I got this function, and looked at a half dozen others that are virtually identical They ALL claim to work This doesn't and I have no idea what I've got wrong Can somebody tell me what's going on? The function gets called onSubmit, and the Alert "xxx" is displaying.

Blank Field Validation Ignored By FF And IE?
Mar 11, 2011I have a three field contact form on an HTML5 page. Using CSS3/HTML5 techniques, the fields change state as the info is entered properly (green OK symbol if good, red "!" if not, etc). That all works as expected in all browsers.
My final hurdle is preventing the form being submitted with nothing entered in the fields. I have done hours of research and have tried several ways of writing the checkFeedbackForm function. My problem is that none of the solutions I've found are recognized by FireFox (mac and pc) and IE. They just ignore the javascript and allow the empty form to be emailed.
