Mar 6, 2006I am quite new a web scripting and making web pages in general and I have stumbled across a problem I have as yet been unable to solve. I am trying to take the contents of a textarea box and save it to a file. This step is not to hard however the contents of the textarea is mostly latex source so it contains just about every special character you can imagine. My question is this, how do I save an exact copy of the textarea contents with special characters, carriage returns, etc to a file?

1. open google chrome without any argument then load a local html file.
2. the local html file will need to have $.getJson[url] .... bla bla bla and jQuery.support.cors = true.
3. data will get loaded
But if you try to load the exact same json data from other domain or localhost, it wouldn't works.

Mar 31, 2011i am thinking of using a xml file as a data base for example , the xml file stores a list of reference numbers which is allocated to a url or a name such as 0123456789 and i have a text box on a webpage and the user types in a reference number and the javascripts reads the xml file to check if its a valid reference number i.e a registered number i am new to working with xml etc.

Jul 25, 2011I am doing a few tests with javascript and oop. but one failed so i falled back to the way i usually do this but it still isnt working properly. i am using $.post() but instead of returning whatever is echoed in the php file like it does with all my other scripts it returns the content of the file:
Isnt returned in var data but the whole file is returned as a string.
Display Data On The Same DIV After Submit?
Apr 28, 2010In the BOTTOM Division i have a list box and Submit button in a form. User can select an item from the list box and click on the submit button. After user clicks the submit button i want to display some data/graph in the bottom division. However with my current code i see that on clicking the submit button , the data is displayed on a fresh page.

AJAX :: Display Data Row By Row
May 20, 2009I have a script that uses ajax and php to search a database and show the results. What it is doing at the moment is it takes the user input from the search form, and then send that to php page via ajax, and what ever PHP page returns it just show that at once, for example, if php returns 20 rows, it will show them all at once. What i want is that it will show row by row instead of at once. Like it search and then display row 1, then 2 then 3 then 4 so on till the end. So i dont want all the search to be displayed at once.

I however need to filter the data based on the logged-in users preferences. These preferences are stored in a database and retrieved after the user logs in. Say for example the user selects (clicks check box) a small cappuccino, a latte, and an espresso, how can i get the input names (name+size of coffee) to appear with the value (cost of coffee) in another div so i can then calculate sub-total, add vat etc
So far ive only managed to get the users selections to appear where i want using jQuery serialize, however im having a little trouble picking out the values to carry out calculations on them.
note : this is a made up project for a fake client and cant involve any server side scripting.

As you will see the code has been extended but does not display (at all!) on a iPhone, whilst the original code did. will only match on the exact word.
Here is the current problem code:
Word1 = "RealPlayer.exe"

Currently the bFound is set to TRUE since "Player.exe" is found within
"RealPlayer.exe". But I only want bFound to be TRUE is if the entire word

JQuery :: Post Returns Data But Does Not Display It
Apr 20, 2011$.post, it calls a php file which retrieves data from my database and should return a JSON datatype result. I checked on firebug, and it does successfully retrieve the data in JSON format. I however cannot get it to display on screen. I want to populate input fields with the result accordingly.
