Event To Change Output Value In A Division?
May 6, 2010
Here is my code:
<html>
<head>
<title> Java Lesson</title>
</head>
[Code]....
The purpose:
1. select a month
2.select a team
3. result= value of month and team selected be displayed side by side in the div. I want this to happen immediately after selecting any value from either select box.
Observations: The code works fine if I select any value from any select box and F5, but if I select, and 'close and open' page, both values go to default. What is the difference between refresh via F5 and re-loading page?

I'm having some trouble with what seems to be a fairly simple issue: I have a <select> field with a few options inside of it. The idea is that a user can select an option in this dropdown and, dependent on what they choose, the output in another div with change.
The form:
<form class="formStyle">
<fieldset>
<label for="soFormStyle">style:</label>
<select name="soFormStyle" id="soFormStyle">
[Code]....
So, this JQuery only works if the option is preselected (if I select and reload the page). I thought I was on the right track, but I just can't get it working as I intended. Again, the idea is that a user selects "Page Curl" or "Logo", and the image in the preview pane changes according to their selection.

I have a program that generates a random exam with digits 0 -9.
I have managed to generate random symbols to appear inbetween each question and it now accepts an answer. What i need is that when a division sum is generated, i need another field beside the answer for the remainder.
Here is the code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/Brittanica Template.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
<head>
[Code]....
I also need to know how i would display all of the results of the test. For example "You got - 5 out of 5" "Time Taken - 3 minutes" "Date - 24-06-2011"

I am having a particular problem with my Javascript page, which should change the form that the user is at. Need to proofread my code to check for errors? The code does not change the form (Also it does not run the PHP page, or at least does not display its output in the loginStatus div):
<html>
<head>
<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<title>
PHP Hardcoded Login Script!
</title>
<script>
function processLogin(form) {
var user = form.user.value;
var pass = form.pass.value;
var url = "processLogin.php?user=" + user + "&pass=" + pass;
if (window.XMLHttpRequest)
{// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
}
else
{// code for IE6, IE5
xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
} .....
Why this is not working? The page running this code can be found at: [URL]
Another page without the signup form (that works) is at:
[URL]
The login for the pages is:
user: john_doe
pass:password

In searching answers to my quest, I have been looking for a method using
document.write to display the thumbnails in one division while showing text
about the thumbs in another division.
All I've seen so far is that document.write('does this') and that's it.
Nobody expands on this and explains what else you can do with it.
It's like they're more interested in showing you the ads than the
information you need.

look at this script :
$(function(){
$('input').bind('keypress',null,b).bind('change',null,a);
});
function a(){
[Code].....
this script bind both keypress and change of the text box to functions b and a. at keypress event handler if user type a char on input box the value of input box change to x and the user char discarded. In this case we expected to run the onchange (change) event because the textbox value is changed BUT this doesn't happen.

I'm taking a class in web technologies, and we're working with some basic Java.
The assignment is to have numbers 1-10 and their squares fill into a table... Then to have them sum at the end.
My problems are:
How do I change the orientation on the table output to go up and down instead of left to right?
Do I have to write another for or while loop to get the sum's for these numbers, or can I do it from within what I've already written?

I'm working on an exercise with arrays and binary operators. The operators work fine until I use the division one "/". When I try to use that symbol to divide variables Dw turns it and the following text green (#060), instead of blue for the operator. Of course, this messes up the running of the script. I have two of these division issues in my script and it's the same for both. Here is one of them:
leader1[5]= leader1[4] / leader1[1]; //average points per game
The text that turns green is " / leader[1]; " and the comment that should be grayed out is not. The first slash is green, the second blue and the text is black. Also, my code validates fine but when run in a browser the JavaScript doesn't display.

Well the topic pretty much sums up the problem. I'm pretty familiar with using events to alter the value of an html tag or attribute via the DOM. I was wondering if it is possible to use an event to alter the value of a variable within. Well I wrote the script below to test that and sure enough it didn't work. So if by some chance it is possible to use events to do alter the value of a variable, how does one go about that?[code]...

I have a series of checkboxes on a page and the goal is to run an ajax post each time one of the checkboxes is checked. When the page loads, the first time I click each of the checkboxes everything goes as planned. After I receive the response from my ajax php function and all related events fire, I click the checkbox again and nothing happens. The event listener seems to have stopped functioning.
Here is my code:
$(document).ready(function() {
$(':checkbox').change(function() {
$(this).attr('disabled','disabled');
$('#' + $(this).attr('id') + 'Waiting').addClass('loading');

I've been stuck on this for a few hours today, and I can't seem to figure out how to correctly accomplish my task.Objective: Dynamically change the value of a <input type="checkbox" />, thus causing the .change( ) event to be fired, from an outside element, with the checkbox being hidden.So, my code eventually gets to this point:
if ( /* CONDITION */ )
{
$( 'input[name="new"]' ).attr( 'checked', true );

I know in JavaScript you are able to write functions that you can just call at a later time. I'm working on a jQuery UI slider, and I wrote a function for the animation that happens when you start sliding. I would also like this same function to fire for the "change" event, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Here is the shortened code sample:
$(function(){
var posterO = $(".poster-slider")
.slider({
slide: function(event, ui){
//This is the function I would like to reuse at "change", below
poster.css(...);
posterLi.css( ... );
ptCopy.css( ... );
sliderValue = ui.value;
},
//change:,
animate:true
});
//When "#abundant-trees" link is clicked, the slider handle changes, firing the "change" event, but the "slide" function is not called.
$("#poster-switcher a[href=#abundant-trees]").click(function(link){
posterO.slider("value", 100);
link.preventDefault(); //Stop browser from following the link that was clicked on.
})});
I would like to apply the "slide" function to the "change" event without having to duplicate all the code.

I'm putting together a site for a pal's band. I've got a sliding div that slides up when a link (with text) is clicked and back down when the link is clicked using:
$(function() {
$('#bottom-blog-button a').click(function(e) {
$('#home-content').slideToggle();
});
});
and some corresponding CSS. What I'd like to do is make the link that triggers the event to change text whenever the div is visible and change back when it returns to hidden (like "show div" / "hide div").

I am building a webpage and have made a menu which looks like tabs in a filing cabinet, kind of like you see if you go to "Display Properties" in Windows, for example.What I need is a script to make the tab buttons open up a window in an iframe, changing the image when clicked. But the image must not change back to it's original state when the button is released.I'm no java pro. Still in my playpen, really. You may have to hold my hand.
