The problem I'm finding is that the code above seems to look at the whole path that is in the input box as opposed to just the file name. I know absolutely nothing about javascript, does anyone know how I can manipulate this code to have it just look at the file name?I've also posted this question at the following links: http:[url].....

Oct 7, 2005This involves the use of an order form used to process a purchase via Paypal. The items are small rhinestone letters for names and such.
The form is very simple in that the purchaser enters into form field one: the letters they wish to purchase.
Form field two (this is where I rely on common sense by the purchaser): enter the number of letters entered in form field one.
Based on the number of letters entered in form field two, my form processes the correct cost for the purchase.
As you have already figured out, I am beginning to see people enter their letter orders w/out entering the number of letters ordered.
All that said: a way to count the letters entered in form field one and auto-populate form field two with that number. Code:

Eg. if no @ is entered in the email field, a red x would be shown next to the email field. Eg. if a zip code contains letters, a red x would be shown next to the zip code field. Eg. if the email field contains a @ and a period, a green check would be shown next to the email field. Etc. Ajax :: Email / Password Entered But Submit Button Display Nothing
Jan 31, 2010I have four pages.two html, one js and one php. First page is loginTab.html. There is a tab called "Tab One" when user clicks on it there is a script inside this html page which calls function and loads an external login.html form using ajax. in login.html there is a form and include external js code for ajax functions. What it does is when the user enters email and password and clicks submit then it triggers another ajax function which send a query to php file and compare those variables there with mysql db and returns the message to a div which is in login.html. The problem here is when I enter email and password and clicks on submit button it does not display anything. I am providing all of my code below

And I want to list all of the questions, but not the choices/answers. So far, I've managed to list just the questions, but because another function randomly sorts them, I need to sort them back into numerical order for a separate function (displaying the questions)
I use characters (>,^) at the front to separate them into different answer types (just to explain the code)
I try this to cut each string down so that they can be sorted numerically/alphebetically -

Is it just that you have to put the [l] in every time you call a variable?

occurrences of whitespace characters like spaces, tabs, newlines, and
form feeds with another string.
For example, say I have a string consisting of:

-- 2 newline (
) characters

-- 5 spaces
After applying some sort of regular expression to replace consecutive
occurrences of whitespace chars with the string "X", the string should
consist of the following:

-- The character "X"
-- The characters "goodbye"
-- The character "X"
How could I do this using regular expressions? I'm quite familiar with
JavaScript but don't know anything about regular expressions or using
them in JavaScript, so please show me step-by-step how it's done.

Aug 4, 2009I am running a search on my web site which uses jQuery to take the search terms and build up a URL based on them. For example, if someone searches for "chair" my URL will be appended with /chair/. However, if someone searches for something which is two words, for example "chair covers" I need the space in between to be replaced by a "+" sign so the URL will now be appended with /chair+covers/ I'm not sure if it is possible to string replace in jQuery?
Here is my current code:

Jun 27, 2011So I want to be able to check the last 15 characters of a string for either <br /> or a space. I know how to do this with PHP but I have no clue how to do this with Javascript and Google is failing me. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Example string: var string = "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat."
I'm assuming this will be done with lastIndexOf but I do not know how to do it. So to reiterate, I want to check to see if either a space exists, or <br />, delete everything after that, and return the string. So the output of the example string would be...
