Detect The Source Of A Blur Event?

Feb 10, 2010

I have these "editable" divs in my document. When you click them, a text box comes up and you type something and push enter. It changes what's in the div.There is also a blur event associated with the text box. When the user tabs or clicks away, it fires the blur event. Here lies the problem.I have other elements on the page that are clickable. I don't want those clickable things to fire their events if the user is clicking away from the text box, ie. the blur event. This isn't a problem is the user pushes tab, for instance.

JQuery :: OnChange Event - Web Application - Each Blur Event Makes A Call Webserver To Store Value Of Textfield

Jan 21, 2010

I'm currently facing a weird issue with the onchange event. I have a web application where each blur event makes a call the webserver to store the value of the textfield. I only want to trigger that ajax call when something has changed, so i track the onchange event on each textfield to set a flag if something has changed.

The onchange event always fires to first time when i click outside of a textfield even if i didn't change anything in the field.

I narrowed it down to the following: A prefilled textfield always fires the onchange-event the first time you leave the textfield. An initially empty textfield does not fire the onchange event.

Sample code (IE 8 on Windows 7 computer):

Popup Window Blur Event

Jul 23, 2005

I'm triing to write script that close popup window, when user click outside the popup. Script below is working fine in firefox (v1.0.3), but not in IE.

I tried also to print hello but still the same problem firefox OK IE not. I think the problem is in event capture, but I can't fix it.

My script:
fotowin = window.open("", "foto", "width =100,height
=100,location=no,menubar=no,directories=no,toolbar =no,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,status=no");

fotowin.onblur = closeWin;
if (fotowin.captureEvents) {
fotowin.captureEvents(Event.BLUR);
}

function closeWin() {
fotowin.close();
//fotowin.document.write("hello");
}

On a sidenote, how can I pass multiple parameters to the function(not a fixed number of params)? or should I just pass an array?

JQuery :: Validating Textbox Entries Using The .blur Event?

I am sure that this is a BASIC question for javascript gurus but I'm struggling to resolve.The form starts with the cursor focus in the FROM ACCT NUMBER FIELD. When I tab to the next field without entering any value in this text field I want to send an alert to the user that the field is required and put the cursor back on that field. I attempted to do that using:

$(function() {
$("#ARTransferForm\:fromAccountNumber").blur(function() {

JQuery :: Click Event Not Fired When Hide() Called By Blur()

May 24, 2009

I have a textarea and a DIV as code below. The way it supposes to work is when I focus on the textarea by clicking it, the DIV will show. Otherwise, it will be hidden. Then when I click the DIV, there will be an alert(). However, right now if I click on the DIV, it will trigger the blur() event first which calls to hide() the DIV. After that, the click event is not called at all. I need to be able to click on the DIV and the DIV is not hide() at all and show alert().

myIFrame.addEventListener('onclose', temp(), false);
}else if (myIFrame.attachEvent) {

JQuery :: JsVideo Swap Video Source On A Click Event?

Sep 28, 2011

I currently have several instances of a video player placed on the page by number of XML nodes. Each player has a source of one of 2 video codecs, dependent on browser as to which one will be read. The issue I am having is that on click of a thumb 1 video player and its corresponding sources is animated into view and plays. That is all fine, yet when selecting a different thumb the previous video continues to play unless I place the statement in green into my click function. This works until I add another node into my xml, and or place more video.pause without videos actually being in the xml (undefined, of coarse). I have been trying to find the syntax to replace the source with the corresponding thumb id (url, url2) and utilize only one player, but I have failed in my searches. Is it possible to swap the source upon clicking on the thumbs? $('video').player.pause(); is not recognized.

$(function() {
$('li.video-thumb').live('mouseover', function() {
$(this).animate({

JQuery :: Detect Click Event In Table Cell With In DIV's?

My program retrieves a table via an ajax call and places it in the ocvfitems div below. The first cell in every row is defined as: echo("<td class='tdclick'><a href='#'>$fnum</a>"); When the td is clicked I need the function to be called. It worked before I created the table via ajax. The table does display properly and the column is underlined as a href. I believe that the first line of the function is the culprit but I can't seem to get it to work.

JQuery :: Can't See Source (with View Source) When Loads External Html Into A Div?

Feb 23, 2011

I got some code that loads divs from other web pages into a particular div in my main page. In other words, I click on a button, and this tells jquery to load afragment of a particular page into my main page. For instance if I have 5 web pages onrock stars, I could have 5 buttons, and each button could load one rockstar's biography into a div on the main page (and replace whatever was there before). This works, and I do see the content that it loaded. But when I do 'view source' in IE, I do not see that content (the bio of the rock star). Another clue that this content is not really there, is when I try and run some code on that content. The content (from those external pages) have divs with specific names, and I try and make them into collapsible panels by running the following short function:

var IdentifyPanels = function() {
$("DIV.ContainerPanel > DIV.collapsePanelHeader > DIV.ArrowExpand").toggle(
function() {

Replace Image Source With Other Source

Nov 23, 2009

I have a website that I frequently visit (FWIW, Firefox 3.x is my browser of choice) with many image sources referring to URLs that end with "-thumbnail.jpg". However, for better image quality, I am trying to use Greasemonkey to replace all instances of "-thumbnail.jpg" in the source of images on this site with "-bigthumbnail.jpg". The closest I could think of was to somehow use getElementsByTagName and innerHTML.replace, but realized that innerHTML does not do HTML, only content.

Below is as far as I tried to get on my own,

var as,ae;
as = document.getElementsByTagName("img");
for (var i = 0; i < as.length; i++) {
ae = as[i];
ae.innerHTML = ae.innerHTML.replace(/-thumbnail/gi, "-bigthumbnail");
}
})();
