I am trying to change my sites background color. The color changes but it doesn't go back to the first image anymore. does anybody know what the problem could be?
I'm putting together a portfolio site and I'd like to use high-res images that take up most of the screen to show different works. There would be a menu bar with links to each work, where a click on that work's link would change the background by doing a standard "dissolve" effect.I have seen many different plugins for "rotating" images and changing background colors at the click of a button. Is there a method specifically for this purpose? As an alternative to altering the background-image of the body itself,I would be willing to use a properly sized div (or div's) to achieve this effect.
I need to have three text boxes, user will enter a number in each box.Then i have four buttons, add, subtract, divide and multiply.When i click on each button, the numbers in the first two text boxes should match the answer in the third text box.ex. (first box has a 4, second box has a 4, and the third box has an 8. if i click the add button, i should get a "correct" answer in the div below with a green background and if i hit the multiply button the div should say "wrong" with a red background.

I have an onclick handler which executes and jquery ajax load function but I need to validate a form first before executing the load function. I don't know how to prevent the load from occurring until the validate is complete. I am validating using the jquery validate plugin.
I have a form with 3 buttons with a text box next to each button
what i want to do is when a textbox is filled out the default button is changed to the button next to that text box rather than the first button on the form.
When my page loads, I check for the existence of a cookie value through readCookie(). If there is a value present for the cookie, I would like that to be the default value in function ordering() and that value to be the SELECTED value in ddlProfileNames. In other words, if there is no cookie value, then function ordering will default to ordering("Div1,Div2,Div3,Div4"). If there is a value, then that should be used in function ordering and as the default value in ddlProfileNames. Thanks for any help.
I'm currently overriding function keys (F1 to F4) to perform other actions. In order to do this the default popup windows of Help (F1), Seach(F3) etc must be turned off. In FF it's easy enought to do using the preventDefault and stopPropagation event functions.
IE's equivalent is supposed to be cancelBubble and returnValue, however I can not seem to get them to stop no matter what I try.
Can someone please point out my error? The test code is below....
I'm able to set default value in text box using jqury but don't know how to set default value in file upload control. For filling textbox I'm using the following code:
This works perfectly. Now the mail combo have a option value="0" with title "Please select one" so if not change happen then the second combo never is activated. How when the user select the first option "Please select one" in the main combo (#manufacturer_id) I can disable the second combo?
How do i declare a default value in a function? I have a simple function
function color_input(id,token){ if (!empty(token)){ document.getElementById(id).style.backgroundColor = '#2A2A2A'; document.getElementById(id).style.color = '#DDC58C';
[Code]....
You will notice that the #2 parameter is missing in the html call. Sometimes i don't have it to send. in PHP i would just set the functions second param like token=''
I have everything set up and working correctly as I need it to, however, I am not figuring out how to reset a dynamically updated DIV to its original content.
Basically, I have a DIV that has some HTML in it - just text. I then use a JS function to change that text, using
document.getElementById('sidebar_div').innerHTML = "Then my new html here";
This works fine. In the HTML that I replace above I have a button at the end that, when pressed, is intended to reset the sidebar_div back to its original content. I realize that I could probably just use same syntax as above, and just replace the newly created html with the original html, but this is probably not the best method.
What is the correct code to reset the DIV back to its original content? I was trying to use the removeChild() code, but could not figure out how (and if) that would work.
I'm trying to make one div default open, and that is working ok, but when I hit the link for the the other div to open, the first div is not closing... It closes when I hit the link for the first div...
var currentShowingDiv = document.getElementById('idShowHide1'); function doHideShow3(divName){ var objDiv = document.getElementById(divName); [code]...
So just to clarify what I want is to have one div open as default (idShowHide1) and when the user hits the link for the second div (idShowHide2) the first div close and the other open... As it is now the first div does not close...
<script type="text/javascript"> function wp(){ var fn1=window.location.href var fn2=fn1.split("?") if (fn2.length>1){ var fn3=fn2[fn2.length-1] x=document.getElementById(fn3); x.className="show"; } } </script> </head> <body onload="wp()"> <div id="div1" class="dontshow">Div 1</div> <div id="div2" class="dontshow">Div 2</div> </body> </html> </code>
What I would like to do is have page2.html <div1> as the default and show up. Problem is, if I click the link to show <div2> from page1.html, both <div>'s show up. How can I hide <div1>?
how to create a function to validate that the default text hasnt been submitted, Could I somehow put it in with my validateIt function? By using something like document.forms[0].visitor_name.value =="Enter your name"? Or am I way off?

i am trying to add some guidance text to the login and password fields on my website (similar to that of facebook).I dont want to use the value attribute because users have to delete the original text. I just want the text to disappear when the user clicks in the login box. I was wondering how to achieve this, maybe by using javascript? or is there a much easier way?
is there a way in javascript to provide default values for function variables.. for instance
In my case the problem is this, i have tables on about 10 pages that all use the same type of table that have checkboxes next to each row, indicating each row could be possibly edited or deleted. Now, i have a function to check/uncheck all by clicking the top box in the column. It works fine, but on one page, i actually have two of these tables. This screws it up though as it will check everything in the first table when i click the select all input box on the second table. I was hoping i could simply change the value for the id of the table and then pass that id instead of passing nothing.
in php it would look like this function my_function($default_value = "hello") {
in javascript i dont know if this is possible though, it threw errors when i tried syntax similar to that.
I've been searching now for quite a while trying to look for a way to give the default value to a function argument if it's not given. For example, in php one would do the follow:
function func_name(foo = 'default') { ... }
In the above case, if foo isn't supplied while calling for the function, then foo would default to 'default'. I have tried that in javascript, but it doesn't appear to be working, so I am wondering how should I do this in javascript?
I'm trying to figure out how to preselect a country in a form, I have this so far: -------------------- <form name=order> <select name=country> <option value="aaa">aaa</option> <option value="aaa">bbb</option> <option value="bbb">ccc</option> </select> </form> <script> document.order.country.selectedIndex=1; </script> ---------------------
But I would like to be able to preselect a country based on the option value. Something like (this doesn't work obviously):
document.order.country.selected.option='bbb'
The default value for the country will be supplied by a previous form, so it changes depending on what has been selected in the previous form.
