etc.... and each one is different, related to an input field, and as you can see it is a radio input array, and all radio inputs are named add_id[1], add_id[2], add_id[3] and so on i want a javascript function that will swap all the values of these radio buttons to whatever the first on is set to, either 'yes' or 'no' Code:
I want to create a "radio" symbol on a website. When click on it, a cumulative number will be shown beside the symbol. <form> <input type="radio" value="Click me!" onclick="m=1; n=m+1; document.write(n);" /> </form>
I tried to move write function out of the form using Javascript but I couldn't get it. <script type="text/javascript"> document.write(n); </script>
I want to learn more about creating functions for element events without having to put onclick event in every tag. For example:
<script> document.getElementsByTagName('input').onclick = function () { alert('hello'); } </script>
Now, I know the above does not work as I have tried it but hopefully the idea of what I am trying to achieve here. Basically for every input tag, when the user triggers the event (click) it will do the same function.
Anyway, I would more so like to learn about this type of scripting where you assign functions to events. However, I dont know what to search for in google and the like. Where could I learn more about this?
I load a page with two default images and two radio buttons not selected. When either of the radio buttons gets checked I need to swap corresponding image. I tried this but it does not seem to work:
want to swap the contents of two textarea fields in my form when a hyperlink is clicked.i have the hyperlink and layout donw just want to know how i access and set the form fields to their new values,
i'd like to have it so that when stream, playlist, etc... are clicked, the button currently using the #activebutton style changes into #navbutton, and the button clicked changes from #navbutton to #activebutton.
Also, clicking the button will change the z-index of a box containing each particular categories content so that it pops to the front, although i have not tried implementing that part yet. (<-- is there a better way to do that? just wondering).
Anyway, i've been trying to teach myself what to do with the javascript. i can get the activate() function to work if no deactivate() function is defined, but it will only work for one button and then that's it. any ideas?
I have spent my day trying to figure out how I could swap nodes in my HTML page.
Basically I have a table with any given amount of rows. In each of these rows I have a checkbox.
The user can select any 2 rows with these checkboxes and click on a "swap us!" button to swap them (that is the first row takes the pace of the second and vice versa) - this shall be performed on the client side with JavaScript.
I have seen that the DOM has a method called swapNode() but I cannot get it work property for 2 reasons:
1) It looks **like** it is not portable (NS vs. IE) (accoring to what I read somewhere on the web)
2) I am not a champ. in DOM/JavaScript, but I gave a try in doin' it with the other DOM methods (appendChild() bla bla bla) without success - I am crap
I hope some genius out there is going to be able to provide me with some code! Don't ask for mine, I have tried again and again from scratch so many times that my keyboard could let me down!
I am dynamically creating a table rows and inerting radio buttons which are also dynamically created. Everything works fine in Firefox as expected. But I am not able to select radio buttons in IE. It does not even throw any errors. I have searched over the net but could not find anyhelp. Code:
I am creating a form for a registration that asks the participant if they have completed pre-requisite training. There are three questions they are asked. When they click yes, the text box for the requested information is enabled, when they click no, they get a warning that they need to register first.
Here is the javascript
The first one works fine (the SERE training question), however, the second one does not function at all. What am I missing to enable the second question to function like the first.
I cannot believe this is NOT possible but thus far, I've scoured the web for hours looking for an easy way to make a radio button about 10 times larger than it normally is, and make it use custom colors. For example, I'd like to use custom images for the "selected" "unselected" and forgo the normal radio button entirely. However, I'm hoping to keep the radio button as an input method in the HTML, since jQuery has some super useful tools to manipulate input via radiobutton (or other selectors).
I am using a simple javascript image insertion on my XHTML page, and I have encountered a problem. The Javascript code fails to execute when the doctype is XHTML on Firefox (works on Opera). However, when I simply rename the file with an HTML extension, the code executes on all browsers. Code:
How would I go about creating a new arrary which consists of the values for every text input within a form? The array would need to be created dynamically when the function is called (by clicking a button or whatever). Is this possible?
I want to be able to get the results of what the user has selected in all three drop downs and place it into a single text field eg. if a user selects Male then Dog then Australia. The text field updates either on change or on submit to what the user has selected.
I've seen so many tutorials for image swapping but if the result isn't exactly what you want there's litte explanation of how to tweak it. I'm working on a slideshow control panel. When the 'play' button is clicked the image should change to a button that looks pushed-in, and the cycle image play function no longer begins upon clicking play. When stop is pressed, stop appears to be pushed-in, but play then changes back to normal.
Most codes seem to revolve around a function such as:
function clic(no) { if (document.images) { document.images[stuff[no]].src = ocl[no].src temp = select; select = no; if (temp != -1) {out(temp)}
Could anyone explain to me the basics of what is going on here? What image arrays do I need? What is the significance of document.images? Why the nestled brackets?
I'd really appreciate a breakdown showing me the simplest way to change image x to image y from an onclick.
I have some PHP code that currently works by; creating an array 'values[indexed by ID's of packets]' as the name tag in the form below. (forget the syntax ive removed alot to fit in this post) the important thing to see if Input Types are in a loop at there can be any number of them, the text fields are put in an array which is indexed by $packet['piid']
When the values are posted to my PHP script I can run through the array with the code
This all works, my problem is how would I use JQuery to control the script below to pick up the array <select name="importance[<?php echo $answer['aid']; ?>]"> so that it can be passed to my PHP script?
Each Answer in the loop has a selectmenu so they can choose how important that answer it is to them. They can be of variable length thats why its in a loop.
This is the code I have so far
How can I index each answerID with with a importance value and pass the array to PHP. I dont want to make the array in JQuery, there must be an easier way of passing this? Like in the first example at the top.
i have been tryin for a long time to get both of the javascripts(for the thumbnail to main img swap and the navigational arrow swap) to work in synchit needs to be so that after clicking on a thumbnail then on an arrow, the correct image in the correct order appears. as of now they are running separately and one has no influence on the other. forgive me if im not being clear. i keep trying to replace the id that one script is looking for with the same id from the other but this will not work..why?
I was wondering if anyone had come across some javascript that would allow me to have a chart of say 20 music tracks, and be able to move each track up and down the chart using up/down links? I am sure I saw one about 3 years ago.
Consider this: A table with a form around it. Each row of the table is numbered 1 to 20. There will be a form field on each row for Artist, Title, Label, Mix and Genre. There will also be an up and down arrow to move the contents of each row up and down.
I need to create 2 javascript functions. 1 to swap the contents upwards, and one to swap downwards.
The link to go up or down will pass the row number to the function, and the fields that need swapping. The function will then take the values and swap them over.
Is this possible? And will it work cross-browser cross-platform? Any ideas?
I have a button that I want to be able to click on and for it to change to another image and also slide out a text panel and then when clicked the text panel slides back in and the button returns to its original state.
The code that i have found and adapted is below. So far I have it working to click on the button to expand but then I can only make it click on the panel to close not the actual button.
I'm trying to swap the class of an element when it's clicked on. Using jquery 1.6.1, here's what it looks like:
[Code]....
Now, for the sake of brevity*i omitted some other stuff that is happening when they're clicked on. The problem is that the click event for .unchecked_container is firing fine and the class is changed, BUT when clicked on again*the '.checked_container' click event is NOT firing.
I've seen several messages in this group with this question and no reply. Simply stated, how do you send the status of a group of radio buttons to a JavaScript function? I have a large project that needs this. Since I cannot figure it out, I wrote a small page to experiment with it. Here it is....
I want text links to swap the image on the website, but then want to allow a zoom function or lightbox function to the image that appears. I'm not best at explaining things so i've done an example below. After clicking the link, the image changes. i want to be able to do the zoom on the image that it's changed to.
I have an assignment in which the person has to choose their department and their hourly wage is given for each department. In the text box they must put their hours worked for the week, which I can't seem to get to work this is what I have:
I have a page where a user can select (via check boxes) several categories. Each category is related to a set of possible options (radio buttons) that have numeric values. When one of the options (radio button) is selected, the amount will appear in a text box (input type="text"). The numeric value in the text box will update depending on what category options are selected. However, when the checkbox is deselected, the radio boxes in the <div> are not displayed and I need to remove (reset) the radio button values from the value seen in the text box.
<script type="text/javascript"> var amountNotice = 0; function notice(options)[code]....
Everything works except for my uncheckRadio function - not sure if I am identifying the elements correctly, or if I need a totally new approach. My thinking is that the function must be accessed by the checkbox onClick call. Previously I had tried calling uncheckRadio from the notice function before I recognized is was not an appropriate location.
