Here's one of those things that's probably really simply once you do it once, but, unfortunately I haven't yet. I was wondering if any of you gurus could give me a minute.
I've seen sites where you can only have a certain number of pop up windows open at once.
In other words if you click on one while another is open, it pops in the same window as the first did.
I'm working on controlling Windows Media Player with JavaScript. I have all my functions working but a few. I want to sync the movie so that when it finishes the movie it loads the new one.
Now I was thinking of doing something like:
function PlayNext(movie) { if( Player.controls.currentPosition == Player.controls.duration ) { // execute code to load next movie } } I have that function being called every half second and I still can't get it to sync.
I'd like to have a drop-down form pass a variable to an embedded flash file. I know the basic idea of how to stop, rewind and play a flash file via JS, and I obviously know how to pass a variable into Flash, but my experience in forms is keeping me from understanding how I would use the form to pass a javascript variable to the flash file.
i have one great problem with one form. i must to know, for submmiting the form, if the user, has change the select, has select one or no. in my select i have:

For example, I have a page: http://www.cmela.com/zz.phpWhen i open a popup by clicking "Click Here to open popup page" and then on popup window, i wanted it to transfer parent page from making a click on a pop up window.Example is at:http://www.cmela.com/zz.phpopen pop up window, and then by clicking on a link on a pop up window i wanted my parent page to go to www.msn.com
I understand the thread title isn't very descriptive, but what I am asking is hard to describe. Basically, I am linking to ID elements on the page. Once the link ttp://www.example.com/page.html#linkID is clicked, it jumps down the page to the ID.Normally, this is not an issue. However, I have a fixed position navigation panel layer above the page content. When the link is clicked, it cuts off part of the content that I want visible because the fixed position layer is covering it.Is there a way with Javascript (even better if it can be done with CSS) to control how far down the page goes once a link is pressed? For instance, can I say: On link press, go to ID and apply top: 20px; or something to the effect?
below is clickunder code , but it open under windows when visitor click everywhere on the pagei need it be speacial for links , whenever visitor click on speacial link , it opens windows
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript"> function PopShow3() { CookieTest=navigator.cookieEnabled; if(CookieTest)
This pops up a new window with every call. In the child window I call a parent function onbeforeunload, appClose() :
function appClose(){
if (window.opener && !window.opener.closed){ window.opener.CloseChild(getQueryString("application")); }}
This is in my frameset tag of the child code :
<frameset ... onbeforeUnload='appClose()'>
The window.opener.CloseChild() function is called perfectly when I have one child window open, but as soon as I create another child window both of the open child windows don't ever call it. They do both go into the onbeforeunload appClose() function, but do not call the window.opener.CloseChild() function inside of this routine.
Anyone have any ideas why when I have two child windows open I can't access the window.opener functions?
I have tried taking each new window out of the array and used the following code in CloseChild() :
I have this script that is supposed to check if a number the user guesses is the same as the randomly generated number.Problem is that the random number generated at the start of the program keeps on changing everytime I click on the "Check if I'm right" button, the random number gets generated again and I never ever get to reach the correct answer

Hello everyone... I've got a question about an onKeyUp event. I'm using a text box that HAS to be a negative number therefore it has to have a - sign in front of the number. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how to write a function to do this? Thanks so much...
I am working on trying to create a Picture Bingo JavaScript. I am using the standard Bingo Card Generator and it works great however, I need help coding the script so that the number are associated with a picture for example everytime number 12 would show up on the card an image would replace the number. Here is the code that I am using:
When updating our agency's webpage daily, [URL] I am looking for a shortcut to save time.. When I update air quality numbers. I have to put the conditions. Ex.. 50 = good 100= moderate etc etc. As you see here(bold and underlined)
[Code]...
Well instead of having to type good or moderate every-time to correlate with the numbers, I want to find a way the category can automatically default correctly when I put in just the number. Ex, if I put in the number 100, it automatically knows to issue/ put Moderate with out me having to type it. I semi wrote a code .. Yet can't seem to know how to execute. Seeing if Maybe I can get some assistance.
I have a function below where every time a question is submitted, it will add a new row in the table with a textbox which allows numbers entry only. My question is that I don't know how to code these features in this function:
I want the text box to be between 0 and 100, so if text box contains a number which is above 100, it will automatically change the number to the maximum number which is 100.
Does any one know how to code this in my function below in javascript:
When I used toFixed() method on a number, I thought that this method round a number to a specified approximation, but I got a surprising result, the number became string! 15.23689.toFixed(2) ==> "15.24". So does it convert the number into string?
I am trying to figure out how to make a random number I can plug into a script count down from that number at certain times of the day until it reaches 0. I would like it to reset itself at midnight every day. I'm trying to make it work with a script I found on here that resets itself at midnight every day. So instead of it counting down too fast, it would count down to the next number after a randomly generated number of minutes until it reaches 0. But it wouldn't necessarily have to end at 0 at midnight. It could go from 845 to 323 at the end of the day at a slower pace. Is that possible?
What i'm trying to do is replacing the size=180 part of the src (in this case an image) with size=400 so that the images appear larger. I can't simply replace any "180" with "800" because the value might be present in the lid or isbn.So far I've pretty much cut the url up in pieces (I reckon it could be done a lot easier), but I'm stuck with replacing it.[code]
So if the user on my website types 52 it would return the following value: 52, or just, 5 how do I detect something like this. if they enter: 5 how can I detect the number "2" and put it superscripted past the number 5. so the javascript reads this: 5 and returns this: 52
I'd like to make a Degree object that inherits from the Number object and uses the Number constructor but adds a .rad() method that returns the value in radians.
If I do something like:
It generally works but I don't get Number's methods like toString and toPrecision.
I would like to pop up a new window when the mouse over an icon, but I don't like to link to another new page, as I will get the details in the database and then I will add those details as the text in the pop up window.

I have an HTML toolbar that I made using VBScript thar launches mstsc to remote servers and a few "\" shared folders. I know that i can do the same thing in js, but not entirely shure about the sintaxis.
This is an example of what i got in my original toolbar:
Neglecting the annoyance factor for a moment, is it possible to keep one browser window at the screen forefront (in front of all other browser windows) but still be able to interact with a window directly beneath it? How would this be pulled off in JS?
