Controling Position Of Content On Page Load Once A Link Is Clicked?
Aug 3, 2009
I understand the thread title isn't very descriptive, but what I am asking is hard to describe. Basically, I am linking to ID elements on the page. Once the link ttp://www.example.com/page.html#linkID is clicked, it jumps down the page to the ID.Normally, this is not an issue. However, I have a fixed position navigation panel layer above the page content. When the link is clicked, it cuts off part of the content that I want visible because the fixed position layer is covering it.Is there a way with Javascript (even better if it can be done with CSS) to control how far down the page goes once a link is pressed? For instance, can I say: On link press, go to ID and apply top: 20px; or something to the effect?
Im using a Javascript to load content into a div tag when a link is clicked, but how will i be able to make content load into a div on another page when the linked is clicked.for example, i click the link -> then a new page opens -> and in that page the content is loaded in a div tag.but onload won't work, i want it to load with like [URL]
I have PAGE1 with the link to PAGE2 with iframe. (iframe load several naked html). I want to add directive to the link to point sprcific content of iframe. to make it clear
link on PAGE1 -> load PAGE2 with iframe -> iframe content is specified on link = whole PAGE2 with iframe with desired content...
solving problem with creating several different PAGEs2 poining wanted iframe src is not the case.
I am running a website and I want to display many things on the same page. Currently what I have is something like this: [two buttons here][some code here, showing][some code here, hiding]When i click the second button, the hidden code replaces the code that was just showing. The first button then re-hides that code and shows the first code again. What I want to do is combine the two buttons so that when you click the first one, the text and hyperlink will change to display that of the second button. And when you click the button again, it will change to the text and hyperlink of the first button.
i,m trying to make a map who show me as position A and a target adress as point B.I have made it so i can choose adress a and adress b from a dropdown but i want to automaticly load my position as possition A then choose position B from a dropdownlist. How can i do this ?
brighten a page to white when a link is clicked, and then unbrighten to the new page the link sends you to.
Anyone know how to do that?
I want to make the home page be the gateway page, and if you click on any of the links, the home page fades to white really fast/smooth and then the white goes away fast and smooth revealing the link that was clicked.
When I submit page and if there are any validation errors come then same page is displayed to user with errors. The problem is page is loaded to middle of the screen. User has to scroll up to see errors.I want to load page from top of the position.
I want to determine the position of each link on a page. I need to know the browser window size, or at least screen resolution. I also need a position in pixels for each link. For example while browsing this page my screen resolution is 1680*1050 and the Blogs link in the menu is positioned at say (100, 120).Is there any consistent way to find this out in the major browsers?Note that the links are just plain links, they don't have the position attribute set in css or anything.I'm thinking about building a script that tracks user click behaviour and it would be tremendously helpful if I didn't need to input say "link Blogs is positioned in area N" to the tracking system.
How could I determine when ANY link on a page is clicked and what that link points to without having to add a function call into onClick of every href tag?
I have a fairly conventional page split into basically 2 divs one at the top of the viewport and the other at the bottom. The top div represents the header and the bottom div represents the content.
I have a problem in that the content loads in dynamically and when you scroll the content on a page and then click a link to navigate to another page the new content loads partially scrolled, and I need the scrollbar to always start at the top of the page so that the content also does.
I have tried HTML anchors, .scrollTop, .animate with no success. Does anyone have an idea on any jQuery or JavaScript code that will force the content to load without being partially scrolled and/or force the scrollbar to the top of the page?
I have written a very simple test. When I click on a link the page is loaded, then I press the back-button and when I click the link again, the page is loaded BUT then the first page is automatically displayed again. In Google chrome this works fine, but on iPhone 4, HTC WildFire S and HTC Sensation it does not work.
Please try this: 1. Navigate to "[URL]" (==> shows PAGE 1) 2. Just press "login" (form is not implemented) (==> shows PAGE 2) 3. Click on the first item "Click here" (==> shows PAGE 3) 4. Press back-button (==> shows PAGE 2) 5. Click on the first item "Click here" again ( ==> shows PAGE3 BUT then PAGE 2 is automatically shown again)
For example, I have a page: http://www.cmela.com/zz.phpWhen i open a popup by clicking "Click Here to open popup page" and then on popup window, i wanted it to transfer parent page from making a click on a pop up window.Example is at:http://www.cmela.com/zz.phpopen pop up window, and then by clicking on a link on a pop up window i wanted my parent page to go to www.msn.com
I recently had a request from a client and I'm not entirely sure this is possible. I'll try to explain it the best I can, as I can't share the development files yet...
We have a page with an image map of the United States. If anyone clicks on a state, it will bring them to a new
page. This new page contains a table that has named anchors on it, each row being a different state.
So, for example, if someone clicks on South Carolina on the map page, they will be brought here[code]...
The #sc anchor will scroll the new page down to the row in the table about South Carolina.
Is there any way to highlight the table row that the person is looking for? For example, if they click on South Carolina, they will be brought to this new page and the South Carolina row in the table would be highlighted.
I like to try to do some jquery and spinner then load some html code into a div content. I'm not looking deep into the coding part of jquery yet but here's my question. What will be the a href tag look like?
Do you put the url on href or attr? Can I still put the url on href? The reason I ask it's because seo friendly? Will search engine look into other pages by href? But I guess this way will actually load the whole page in the browser and there's no way I can do ajax stuff in this format? I like to do something nice on my links but don't want to hurt the seo part.
I need a counter that will display beside a link, with the number of times the same link has been clicked. I do not have FTP access to the site, since it is based on a CMS.
I have an ajax script which loads new content onto the page when the main navigation links is clicked. I also have a jquery script which fades divs in and out when another subset of links are clicked.
I guess these scripts essentially do the same thing but the first basically is loading in 'pages' without the page having to refresh. The second is just fading in and out divs that are on a page.
The problem is is that the second script only seems to work once, when the page is loaded.
1. Load the first page of a series of pages into an iframe when you click a link 2. On each click load the next in order page 3. When last page has loaded if clicked again will start from the beginning.
What I am doing: I am creating a tutorial for a friend who cannot figure out how to use her new rental management program. I could use a manual slide show to have her click for the next image however, there are a LOT of tutorial images which show her what to do at that point. Her program contains a great number of setup screens, report screens etc. This means the slide show would be sitting there loading all these images before it will work. So, I figured, OK make a page with an iframe, and then I could put each image on it's own little page i.e. page1, page2 etc. Place a little button, or a next link, then have the link load the pages into the iframe in order.
I'm looking for the way to resize an element when the page loading. I'm doing some test and I've try :
function placeHeader () { var x; document.getElementById('header').style.display = 'visible' for (x = 0; x < 150;x++) { document.getElementById('header').style.width = x + "px"; }}
I have been searching online for hours, but it is possible I'm just not thinking of the correct keywords. I have included a basic illustration of the current setup (which does not work). The issue lies with the page that is the desired output. I have a far deeper issue which I have narrowed down to javascript on the final .asp page not loading at all.
On default.asp, I am calling a function contained in 'ajax_call-contentselection.js'
Honestly, I don't believe the following piece of code (ajax_call-contentselection.js) is relevant, as it is standard ajax code, but just in case:
Code:
function func_displaycontents(var_type){ var xmlHttp = GetXmlHttpObject(); var url = "../_include/ajax_display-contentselection.asp";
[code]...
The other contents of "ajax_display-contentselection.asp" are displayed properly in "div_ajaxfillattractions" of "default.asp", but no javascript code on that page loads. If I use "ajax_display-contentselection.asp" as an include file on "default.asp", I get the javascript alert of 'Success', but when I initiate the AJAX it does not work, so I know there isn't a problem with the javascript.
I want to know how i can make a page that opens and loads content in a div tag when i click a certain link on my home page. i have a javscript code to load content into a div tag when the link is on the same page as the div tag, but i want to get a script where it will open a new page and load content into a div tag on that page.
like the link must be something like main.html?div=content.html i know how to do this with iframes, but i want to work with div tags :)
I'm setting up a video gallery on a site. What I want to happen is that when the user clicks on a thumbnail it then opens and plays the corresponding video clip in shadowbox.
What shadowbox opens is a page which holds the video player object. What I need to happen is for the video reference to be passed to the page that shadowbox opens.
I don't know how to do this. I can get this working where the thumbnails are all on the same page as the video player object. The link on the thumbnail images is as follows:
What I was trying to set up was to get the page that shadowbox opens to automatically run the loadVideo javascript with the reference variable passed to it in the url.
