I want to put a form on my site where the user can enter some information, but I don't want the user to enter the same information twice over the couple of fields that I have.
Is there a javascript that can help to validate the form information or some other way? And if so, is it easy to do?
I have a JavaScript application that needs to preserve double quote marks and apostrophes (" and ') that are entered into form fields by the user. The form data is passed through several screens using hidden fields.
Right now, apostrophes work because I have the input fields coded as value="". I have not found a way for JavaScript to retrieve the field's value if double quotes are entered by the user. If I change the parameter to value='' (single quotes) then the apostrophes probably won't work.
Is there a straightforward way for JavaScript to retrieve the field value containing quotes, so that I can manipulate it into a different string that can be easily passed between HTML pages?
I have a form that collects information about up to 5 items. I would
like the user to be able to select from a drop down menu how many items
for which they want to compare information, and then have the form
change the number of input fields accordingly.
In other words, if the user selects enter info for 3 items, then input
fields for only 3 items are shown, if they change it to 4 items, then a
fourth column shows up in the table with the appropriate input fields.
I want to create a mathematical formula plugin for my website where users will enter their own numbers based on the formula in an html form style. The formula is (a)*(b)^2/800 I want their to be a box for users to submit their data which will be (a) & (b) and then a box below showing the calculation. Also buttons giving the users the option to "calculate" and "clear fields". Is there a website where I could input the formula and they could generate the coding?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a select dropdown with several options. The user selects an option and fills out the following few fields. If the user then changes his mind and changes the option in the dropdown, I want all the fields - or just the ones already filled out - to be cleared.
Note: reset() of the form is not an option as there are other things going on (hide/display of fields based on the dropdown option selected).
I have a search form and added the "Clear All" Button functionality...but it clears the last part of the search form display preferences....how do I only clear the checkboxes at the top of the form only and not at the bottom of the form between the <DIV> tags? I would like to change the text of an <a> element when the user clicks on it. The code that I've written is only "half" working:

Initially the text of the <a> element is "text1".
When I click on it the text is correctly changed to "text2". But if I click on it again, the text doesn't change back to "text1", it remains "text2".

If the user clicks on the button again, the drop-down closes using .toggle() on the button click event, and these two scenarios work great.However, I also need the drop-down to close when the user clicks anywhere outside of the drop-down. I have this website that logs users clicks and their referrals clicks. I have graphs for each of these things. A textbox
A select box
Another select box
As the user fills data in the textbox and then clicks off I want the javascript to fire, submit the value in the textbox to a url (I can handle the backend side of it all fine) which will then send new data to the select boxes. Similarly for the second select box when a user clicks off (After selecting) I need the jquery to fire again. I've seen this code and think I get how to write it in, but I'm not sure how to do the (When user clicks off bit of it).
