When someone arrives at my site I want certain tables to be displayed by default and others hidden. On each one of them I want there to be an image that will be a plus sign (eg. plus.png) for the hidden ones and a minus sign (eg. minus.png) for the shown ones. When someone for example clicks on the plus.png image on a hidden table I want the table to show itself and the image to change to the minus.png one.
View 4 RepliesI've made a little short jQuery code where I hide a div, which should be displayed upon hover over another div. The problem is that since it's a class, it happens for all other hidden divs. I guess I should use "this" somewhere? So it only affect the div I'm currently hovering, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's harder than that? This is the simple JavaScript:

My site, lizbmorrison.net, uses an adapted version of superbgimage and I've been trying to find what controls the visibility of #showtitle. Currently its automatically hidden when the page loads, and can be toggled by the info button in the lower right corner, but I'd like it to be visible by default.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a single select dropdown in my application which is hidden for one type of user group. Before a user from this group can save any data, I have to explicitly select the default value of this dropdown for him as this dropdown is not visible to him.
Issue: In IE, this default value doesn't get selected as it is not populated but works fine in Firefox. Is this a jQuery bug?
I am looking for a way to put all CSS values on my selected elements back to its default. I was wondering if anyone has maybe done this before and if not has any idea's to get me started.
The idea is that when I use for example:
The elements within .setDefault will return to its default font/color/height/width etc... so basically all posible values.
I got a form where some checbox fields will hide or show as user clicks specific choices. Problem is, if one mistakenly checks one of these checkboxes and then hides it, it still does retain the checked value, even if hidden. How can I make sure that the checkbox defaults back to "unchecked" if in fact is "hidden"? code...

I have just two tabs and I want to set up the script to have the second tab automatically hidden prior to reading the javascript code because right now it shows the contents of both tabs when the page is loading and then the second tab disappears after all the script has loaded.

I want to add something like style="visibility:hidden;" to the DIV that isn't shown on page load and have it added and removed as necessary when users click on the tabs. So basically I would like the generated code to look like this:

Specifically, assume I have a div tag of absolute dimensions. I need
to figure out, first, whether or not the text inside the div tag is
partially hidden by the overflow setting, and if so, what the hidden
text is.
Is this even possible? Obviously, the rendering engine in the browser
"knows" this information, but is it accessible through Javascript?

I have a table that holds a form. At the bottom of the table it has a link that says ... "Add another entry" When clicked it should add another table below that one for the user to fill out. This is designed for a Resume Builder where the user will be able to input multiple jobs. I have the script "kinda" working but the only problem is that I have to try and cram the entire table code into ONE line. If it expands multiple lines it doesn't work. I've created an XML-RPC server, and would like to somehow bind the XML
server responses to a table for users to view. Here's the catch, that data
changes frequently (every few seconds), so I'm using setInterval to
periodically get updated XML content from the server.
Currently, the setInterval function requests the entire dataset, then
rewrites the entire table. I'm concerned that it's a waste of bandwidth,
and disrupts the user scrolling through the data whenever it rewrites.
Ideally, I'll have the XML-RPC server generate only data changed since the
last request, then somehow update the table with the changes.
I have my own library for web-design building - active forms, lists. I
am going to build tabbing component. The complexity in this process
is that all web forms uniformed and are built as TABLEs, where
each field is TR. Tabs have to show/hide some of table rows.
I don't know how TR's properties must be changed in order to hide them
all.

Here's the situation: I have a simple php file which retrieves data from a
mysql database and displays it in a table. However, the number of records
has gotten so large that retrieving all the data takes a lot of memory and
the browser freezes.
I been googling for a solution and some1 mentioned something called live
scrolling where the data is retrieved only when you scroll up or down.
Since am just an amateur and not familiar with XML, XSL, etc; can any1
recommend some link where i could find some JS script with such a feature?
