I like to resize the width on the onmouseover menu (the layer) and i can't find where to resize this? I managed to change everything else i like to change, but this i can not find .....
I am trying to write a custom BBcode for a forum I moderate. I don't have the licensing information because its not my forum and i am just a moderator. If anyone wants to verify the legitimacy of the forum I work for please PM me and I will try and get you any information I can.
I had problem when try to reuse div element with ui.dialog().If I set the width & height the first time it works; but if I call it from second function with different width & height it won't apply the new setting. Also if I manually resize the dialog when it appear after close and reopen it use the new size (resized manually) not the one I specified in the code.is it possible to resize the dialog before it show up?
I'm trying to build a background in two parts. The header bg is in the body and the lower part is a div with a gradient background color generated by CSS3 or IE filters. I had problems with getting the gradient to stretch all the way to the side in IE7 with plain CSS so I had to start looking for more watertight solutions.

If there are easier methods to solve this split background thing than JavaScript, I'm all ears. I can PM the address of the website, if someone wants to take a look.
I have a site that I'm building at [URL] which use the jquery cycle plugin for a slideshow. I won't post the code here because it's all there with view source at the above address. It's a work in progress. The slideshow is full width (the images in it are actually 2000px wide but looks full width), and works fine apart from when the browser window is resized. This is most noticable when you start with a smaller browser window and then resize it to be bigger.
The slides stay the same width as when the page loaded - I need them to adapt to the new width. I need the slideshow to be centered at all widths, so I've put the images in as backgrounds to divs with center positioning on them. I've tried getting the window width on resize and then applying it to the slides using jQuery, but the original calculated size overrides it when the slide changes.
how to make the menu items a fixed width in a horizontal Superfish menu . I've tried mucking about with the CSS but no luck so far. I'm sure it's easy, but I can't seem to work it out.
I am using Ben Alman's JQuery resize plugin in order to obtain the varying computed width of an element when the window is resized (the element in question is a page wrapper that exhibits the expand-to-fit behavior of a block box, and it's computed width is obviously influenced by the resizing of the window. Essentially, what I need to be able to do, is to reference a variable that is defined in a .resize() function ('width_page') in a seperate .each() function.

I now understand that variables can't cross boundaries like in the example above, which leaves me a little stuck. I also understand that this is specific to the context of the .resize() function, and that it can't be taken out of it without using an element selector. Is there some way I can call the .resize() function in my .each() function?
I have a javascript file that contains methods and the structure to form a popout menu. Then I have another javascript file that uses those methods/structure etc. to build a specific menu with all it's links, titles, etc. To have the menu created on my html page I link to the two .js files and put window.onLoad = writeMenus();
in between script tags that creates the menu right when the user gets to the page. My problem is, since the menu is created when the window loads, it's static. So when I resize my window, the menu won't resize. In my .js files I have the positions of the menu based on screen.width/# so they aren't set values. I think my problem is with using the .onload. It loads the menu once at the beginning but doesn't know to redo it when the window resizes.
I have made a script that can resize a image to the "Max Width" on load. And then when you click the image you can switch between the orginal size and scaled size.
But ther are a problem with it sometime makes the image 10 px x 10 px. when the image is 800x600 and the max width is 700. I think this have something to do with it getting the org image size before the image has loadet complety. But i have tryed all day and just can't get it to work.
The design of the website that I am working on requires mouseover menus that open up instead of down. I don't know much JavaScript yet, so I looked all over the Internet trying to find a script that would allow me to do this. I finally found one here. But when I set it up it wouldn't work properly. For some reason it always opens the menu in the top right hand cornor of the screen. Since, like I said, I don't know much JavaScript yet, I have now idea what the problem is or how to fix it.
I attached a dumbed down version of my page to this post. I removed all graphics and content, and I put my javascript and style sheet into the head section so that it would all be in one file. Code:
Im not sure my subject decsription gives an exact description of what i am after but i will try and explain my requirements a bit better.I have an header menu there are items in this menu but there are a lot of them and if you try view on a normal 1024 x 760 you have to horizontal scroll to view all the items, but on my monitor 1920 x 1080 it is fine. I don't want to do it this way since I hate having to scoll both horizontal and vertical. I would like to be able to change the items on this header to become a rollover dropdown menu when they would normally be hidden becuase of the screen width. I have seen this done before I am just unsure about how to implement this.
this is what i like to do. a menu which moves out of the bottom, when the mouse is over the menubar. the whole div-tag(menu) should slide 200px up. when the mouse is moving out of the menu area, it should slide don to starting position.
I need help with the script for multiple mouseOver Effects for my Menu Bar.However, that only does one mouseover effect. Can someone help me with this?
It seems to me that the arrows which are added create an additional width on the menu elements.I would like to specify a fixed width for the top elements in my menu. It appears that the arrows are added automagically by the JS (neat!). I am guessing they are an additional width to anything specified in the skin css. Is there any way to use the arrows but to reserve space for the arrow width, so it doesn't change the top level menu width? I would like to be able to use a fixed width, so that I can use a non- repeating css background image. To complicate matters, I am using Supersubs (maybe I should be using the standard superfish?)
Im working on a vertical naviagtion menu with mouseenter and mouseleave events. Im quite new 2 jquery and cant get it working 100%.
check the menu at: [url].
Purpose: when nav-item has childs (sub-nav-items), I want them to rollout by mouseenter. This works. I want the sub-items rollup when leaving the sub-items div (<div class="sub-nav-items"> ) OR when leaving the parent of the child items (<a href="#" class="parent">pagina2</a>).
Problem:With my code sofar I could only let the sub items rollup by leaving the sub-items div.
Once again I have a question I havn't been able to solve through search and experiments :p See, I have a menu consisting of icons. When I hover one of the icons I want a little description of every single menu-item to show in a div at the top of the page.
So, my problem is basicly how to toggle a div on/off when I hover another element? It should be used so that I can specify 4 menu items with different discriptions.
I'm using Mootools 1.2.0 and I'm trying to create a mouseover slide menu. That means that there will be a slideIn effect on menu-item's mouseover event. I have created a menu and I have achieved the sliding effect. The problem is that when I mouseover quickly on menu items, the slide in effect of each item doesn't have enough time to complete. In the end, there are more than one slides opening at once, instead of one. Is there someway to force my script to end all slidein or slideout effects before starting a new one?
I'm looking to take some images, and then once a mouse over a drop down menu appears, and it also changes the image of the button. Anyone know of a way to do this?
I am trying to generate a pulldown-menu with JavaScript/DOM: The following Code works fine with Opera an Mozilla but in the IE the width of the select element is too short:
myCurrentElement = window.document.getElementsByName('par_role')[0]; for (var i = 0; i < optionArray.length; i++) { myNewElement = window.document.createElement('option'); myNewElement.setAttribute('value', optionArray[i]["value"]); if (optionArray[i]["selected"]==1) { myNewElement.setAttribute('selected', 'selected'); } myNewText = window.document.createTextNode(optionArray[i]["label"]); myNewElement.appendChild(myNewText); myCurrentElement.appendChild(myNewElement); }
How do I standardise the width of the top menu items in a (Superfish) Suckerfish style menu (V 1.4.8) as each is sizing to the text and I would like all to be equal
i am using the jquery superfish menu at[URL]. i cannot seem to modify the width of the menu items (or the <li>). how do i do this? i am using the superfish.css style sheet. i tried to modify the width by changing the values of a few classes (i.e. where it said 100% or had an em appended), but this did not .
I'm struggling around to show submenu on mouseover of menu-div. I found a solution to show each children of one menuitem, but I wont to show the whole submenu-strukture of all menuitems. Here is what I've done till now:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]"> <html xmlns ="[URL]"> <head> <meta http-equiv ="Content-Type" content ="text/html; charset=utf-8" .....
So when I hover over li.first I will get all submenu-items of the first heading! Is it possible to mouseover the div#navi or the ul#nav to get shown all submenu-items from every menuheading?
I tried something like this, but of course it doesn't workjQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery(".first ul").hide(); jQuery(".#nav").hover(function () { jQuery(this).children(".first ul").toggle("slow"); }); });
