Building A Horizontal Slider/menu Component?

building an HTML/CSS component that would:
1) Feature a small set of icons that would be placed on the right-side of a div
2) If someone clicked on one of the icons, the component would slide out towards the right, featuring various UI elements (i.e. descriptive text and form elements). The component slides out to match the width of the content (not fixed width)
3) The slider slides back if the user clicks on the "X" in top right corner or moves their mouse/clicks outside the slider area.
4) A nice to have would be if the component is towards the right side of the screen, the component slides out left (so it does not go outside the screen area or show a horizontal slider on the bottom of the screen window).

I have a project on building a horizontal slide show and it has to look like this site. tiltdesignstudio [dot]com and instead of flash, i need to use other programming language.
1) is it possible to create a site like that with out using flash?
2)What would be the best approach to build this project?

I have a slider set up that navigates fine using 'next' and 'prev' buttons. There are 14 slides and I have 5 buttons at top that I need to point to specific slides in the layout. Content is static and there will always be 14 slides, and the links will always link to the same slide.So I can manually set IDs for those slides and I can also manually designate each link to go to whatever slide... but I'm not sure how to move forward.My existing slider code is very basic:

So, the slider is working great. I just need to create navigation that allows a few links to point to specific slides here.

You have an AJAX request and the response is mixed HTML + JavaScript. The javascript is referring to elements in the HTML component. Currently the JavaScript gets evaluated first thing when success is triggered and the HTML is returned as a parameter. Obviously this is not going to work ( in this scenario anyway ). As a previous Mootools user I was used to Request.HTML's responseJavaScript parameter and evalScripts option. None of there options are available in the $.ajax implementation.
P.S. I know I could make the javascript a file and load it separately. I know I can make my response JSON and have the js and html in separate properties of the JSON object. I want neither.

I have a page where I want the content to slide horizontal. It works but in IE the sliding animation is not smooth when I use a background image in body. When I don't use this image it's smooth.

[URL]There should be three images in the top right blue shape that scroll repeatedly but only one image is showing. The page was operating fine until I added the dropdown menu that was created in Adobe Fireworks. Is there a conflict between the image slider and the dropdown?

I'm trying to create a horizontal carousel/slider that will display my latest Tweet.
I started with some code I found to pull in my latest tweets via .json. I got that all set up and now I'm trying to integrate the bxSlider plugin to cycle through these tweets one at a time.
At this point I get all the tweets in a <li> that cycle through together. I've set up a jsfiddle to demonstrate what I have

I looked everywhere for a image slider with continuous warp horizontal scrolling. I seen many sites in the past that kept scrolling client logos etc... like that. The ones I found mostly continue scrolling once all set of images disappear e.g.if there are three image,they scroll and disappear and then they start from the beginning.What I'm looking for is image 1, image 2, image 3, image 1... I hope I'm explaining myself well.Initially I was looking for joomla component/plugin, but i decided if I went for jQuery it'll broaden my choices.

I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?

I want to make a horizontal menu with a lot of menu items but some of them wont have any sub menus associated with them. Right now, i have to add at least one item in submenu with sometext in it, else it gives a weired behavior. But I want that any of the items should have no items below it yet submenu shud be displayed, just like a long horizontal bar..

i'm trying to build a small script for predicting Worldcup football winners. participants have to predict the teams in both the semi finals and final. a select menu with all participating countries will be given for 2 semi finals. suppose if a persons selects Argentina and Brazil for Semi 1, then the values of Final select menu should be Argentina and Brazil. Similarly for Semi 2, if Denmark and Italy selected, then the select menu for final2 should be Denmark and Italy.

Building a site with a vertical nav on the left of page. Text links. The problem I've been trying to work out is lets say I have 5 links
1. Pumps
2. Motors
3. Cleaners
4. Chemicals
5. Filters
Each link on mouseover, popups to the right and shows links to different pages within the site. example.. pumps. pops up the mouseover window and has 3 links to 3 different pumps, each on a separate pages. Where as the moters link may have 25 links to different kinds of motors etc.

I am trying to create a horizontal menu, and I have succeeded in getting the menu to view the way I want it, but for some reason when I mouse over the <li> in the root <ul> it shows me all the <ul> under every <li> at once. Here is a sample.

I'm currently trying to build a vertical mega menu as all the ones on the net seem to be set up for horizontal menus. I'm struggling a bit on a certian point as I'm not a very strong Javascript user.It places the mega menu under the button but i want it to appear to the side of the button and be flush with the top of it. I have made it appear to the side but I cant seem to make it run flush with the top of the button, it appears at the bottom of the button.The buttons are 142px wide and 28 in height.

I'm working as a subcontractor for another developer who needs help implementing a drop down menu. A lot of what the client wants is weird, but since I'm a subcontractor, I can't question it, so please don't try to talk me out of these specs. Here's how the menu must work/look:
1. Two levels (top level always shown, one sub-menu)
2. Both levels horizontal
3. Both levels centered (not left aligned)
4. When you roll off a sub-menu, it should stay visible until you roll over another top-level link and display its sub-menu
I know that #4 goes against everything that is good and decent and it makes kittens cry, but I have to do it. And of course, since it's such a weird function, none of the pre-made scripts out there seem to do it. Unfortunately, I am not a JavaScript developer, so I can't write my own script. Are there any pre-made drop-down menu scripts that people can recommend that either do all 4 of the above, or can you provide code to modify a pre-made script to make it meet these requirements?

Alright so you have the header, horizontal menu, then content below it. The horizontal menu has to expand PUSHING the content down slightly expanding the wrapper. I'm hoping someone can help me out with this because right now it's not even horizontal. When I flip it it all breaks

i have a horizontal menu.. with three tabs for eg... Home , about us, contact us and.. when i click on the Home tab, i need a horizontal submenu with four or five links.. say for eg : menu1,menu2,menu3,menu4,menu4 and menu5 and when i click on menu1 i need a vertical menu on click of of menu1. so i need two horizontal menu and one vertical menu. i have attached a sample image of my menu.
