I also wanted to have links next to the slidehsow which would go to a certain picture in the slideshow for example by pressing link "go to picture 3" it would scroll automatically to picture 3 in the slideshow

Oct 22, 2007I trying to get the image in the masthead to cycle through a small number of images. The image is the background-image of the div 'masthead'.
It works in Firefox but I'm getting an error in IE. The error is 'invalid argument' and refers to the j increment. I can't see the prob.
Also the slideshow is a bit abrupt and I need to make the images fade into each other. My old method and examples I've seen on the web don't seem to work. Does anyone know how to do it? Code:

Aug 5, 2010I'm using a jquery script to have a background image slideshow, but I can't make the images to shuffle. I need to do this, as on every click on the website, page reloads, and the background slideshow starts again on the first picture. I would prefer a random pic start.
The script so far is doing the job on covering the whole browser screen, fade on transition, and user controls (back, play / pause, next), wich I need to keep.

Jul 9, 2010I know this is a known issue but I have had no luck with finding a fix for the issue I am getting with IE8. I get a nasty black border around my png that I am using the Jquery fade function. Does anyone have any useful hacks/tricks to fix this?

What I want is if I click on the small 'Contact Us' div, it should open the contents in the bigger one at the bottom of the page, same applies for the other small divs, and by default I want the Contact Us content to appear in the bigger div when the page is loaded, and then replaced as and when clicked on other divs.

Black Outline On PNG Fade-in In Carousel?
Nov 25, 2011I'm using a feature carousel on my new website - this is a horrible test version but take look and you'll see my problem - [URL]... It works fine in Chrome, FF and IE9 - however in IE8 and IE7, on the fade, an ugly black outline is added to the transparent PNG.
Does anybody know how I can remove the black outline in IE8 and IE7.

Aug 18, 2010So Im trying to create a slideshow with thumbnails the user can scroll through and use to navigate the slideshow. I'm a big fan of cycle so I wanted to use that as my main slideshow component and was planning on using jcarousel for the pager. So far it works great in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, yet in IE the thumbnails are not loading. I'm guessing it has something to do with how the images in the pager are generated and then jcarousel just isnt proccessing that in IE but I 'm not sure. I feel like I'm very close to getting this slideshow to work, yet I need to figure out why it is failing in IE.

Jan 21, 2010I created a button with 2 states for mouse-over effects using css sprites. This has always worked well and I have no issues. I recently added some jquery to my buttons to create a smooth transition for the mouse over and this is where I see the issue. When the page is initially loaded the image looks fine. When I hover over the image there is a brief flash of black around the transparent edges then the transition begins and everything looks okay. When I un-hover the image shows the black edges. From this point any time the image is in the un-hovered state the edges are black, and when I hover the black goes away.
