JQuery :: Hide DIV At Pageload?
Aug 20, 2009for explanation it's a button that says "hide the div". when you click on it it hides and the button says "show the div". So far everything's perfect. My problem is, that I want the div to be hidden at the pageload and not shown. So to say the other way round.

What's happening: - On pageload the div with id="energytimer" shows the $timer variable - After one second (or more seconds) the amount of seconds is still the same - If I refresh the page the amount of seconds dropped (as should have been) Note: - The PHP is correct (or should be, just needs to be extended) - If I put an alert("test"); in the function timers() it shows every second Am I missing something really important? I posted this here because I thought my problem should be JavaScript related.

Jul 11, 2010I'm in the process of working on a page that uses layers and iFrames in conjunction with javascript and <div> layers. The problem I'm hoping to solve with your help is that I implemented onclick="this.className='stylesheetstyle'" in the <a href> tag and so therefore when users click the links, the text becomes bold. However since I'm using multiple frames on a page, this makes it look odd when the user back tracks and clicks a different link in the frame. Is it possible using JavaScript to have a users input on click of link unbold the previously clicked link?In short:
Click link -> link goes bold
move forward....
click another link (different frame) -> go forward

Simulate A Manual Click - Not An Auto One
Sep 14, 2010After all, there is some difference in the way we 'click' using our mouse at some place in the document, and what can be achieved by the dispatchEvent "click" in Firefox. We have a page, which has two iFrames on whole. Left frame having a table of clickable email subjects, and right frame showing the entire body of the selected email. The problem is, the clickable area on the subject is too small, making it a pain to click each email to see its body. So I implemented a way of navigating through them using keyboard in the parent page(using key handlers in Javascript). The problem is, when we load the page for first, the navigation works fine, since the focus is on the parent page. But as soon as someone clicks on any area on the two iFrames, the key handlers don't work because they are in the parent page, not in that frame.
I noticed that when I click on any area outside the two frames, it works again. Idea : "Why not do a setTimeOut or setInterval sort of thing, which just sits and keeps on clicking on a place outside the frames"? Good idea, but doesn't work. Why? Is installing the same kind of key handlers in both the frames the only other way? Even setting focus on an element on the parent page doesn't work.

It basically loads some content into a DIV, which can be rotated using a .click function.I'd like to use the same code again, and I have got it working, but instead of having to click a link with a specific ID, I'd like it to automatically run every 4 seconds.

Using "contentEditable" On Span And Auto-selecting On Click
Dec 1, 2009I have contentEditable="true" on some span tags on my page. The idea is to allow admin users to edit content inline on the page without having to send them to a giant form page. When only using contentEditable="true" it works fantastically. You can click into the span and type away. Now, the admin users want the text to be selected in the span once they click into it or bring focus to it by tabbing. I'm using the following function onclick and onfocus to get this working:

Aug 29, 2009Using the very basic jqModal example, isn't it supposed to auto size and auto center the modal on the page? I placed a table that was wider than the modal's default settings and it's off the page and does not create scroll bars on the page to see the hidden section of the modal.

Jul 13, 2009I cant really figure this out, the only thing i could see messing it up is the javascript:void(0) inside the anchor link but since there is a double click function and a click, it should only be one click.I put autoOpen which i think is also causing it, but i did that so theuser can open it, close it, and open it again so the delay "double click" is saying for the first time initialize and then the second click is opening?? if so how do i get around this?

Jun 27, 2011There is a checkbox on a form page, when you check it, a div will become visible with some extra inputs needed for that situation. To simulate this click on the checkbox external, I use click(). With jquery files 1.4 and lower this works properly and like expected. When using jquery library 1.4.1 or higher, something does not seem to work properly. Sooooo, the code:

Oct 19, 2011I have a basic dropdown css menu system. When a menu item is selected (ex: foo.html), the cluetip link opens a 450px wide window as expectedThen,I selectanother menu item (ex: bar.html). But when I return to link foo.html: and click the same clueTip link the clueTip link now opens in it's own window instead of the 450px clueTip window as beore would expect the small clueTip window to open and show the clueTip on each successive click as it does the first time. If I do a browser reload, the first menu selection works as it should, but only on the first click.If the menu is not used, the single file opens the clueTip correctly. Does clueTip get confused in a menu program?

JQuery :: Search Form Remove Value On Click And Add The Value Back On Click Off?
Apr 6, 2011I've a function for my search form. Basically when you click on the form box where it says "Enter your search here" this value disapears when you click in the box. When you click out the box it re adds the value. It works if you click return on the keyboard and performs the search no problem. However if you click the search button with the mouse it removes the search term and replaces it back with "Enter your search here". This obviously will not return the search.
Anyone know how I can fix this so this does not happen on the mouse click?
I've used jsfiddle to add the html and javascript but it is not working in there, but works if you add it to dreamweaver and look at it within a browser. [URL]
