View 14 Replieshave been trying to rework this to call additional, independent sets of colors to cycle through (so it would loop thru a set of grays, a set of primary colors, etc). I would use perhaps a different function name in the HTML to call different sets of colors. If this is more complex than I think it is, I think 3 sets would be plenty. demo link of script in current state at bottom)
<html><head><title></title>
<script language=javascript>
colors = ["#cacdca", "#b2b4b2", "#969896", "#7d7f7d", "#ffff00"];
cRGB = [];

I want to have <div> cells that the background-color css style dynamically change between 4 colors depending on how many times they are clicked. The options are none, yellow, red and green then repeat. So when the page loads, they are all at none, and if you click once it goes to green, twice to yellow, three times to red, then back to none.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make buttons that change from one color to another when you click them and change back when you click them a third time. I wrote this page (http://cf.lehigh.edu/ems/test.html) but it only works on Firefox(Not IE or Chome, untested on safari or Opera). I'm using javascript to change the button colors. Is there another way to do this that works universal or another tool such as CSS?

I want to make a piece of text fade from black to white while someone puts their mouse over it and change it back to black when they move their mouse away. I did it with the following code, but I'm wondering if anyone would do some (or all) of it a different way.
//convert RGB values to hexidecimal
function RGBtoHex(color) {
var digits = /(.*?)rgb((d+), (d+), (d+))/.exec(color);
var R = parseInt(digits[2]);

I can't figure out the code to perform this task. I need to change the menu's text color with a mouseover on a webpage. The menu consists of 7 text links. Each one is a different color. The mouseover is to change the text link to orange while the other 6 menu items change to purple.

Alright so for a school assignment I need to create a button with the name of the color it is going to turn the background to. the assignment says nothing about naming the buttons the hex numbers for the color therefore: I was curious if someone could show me how to create a button in java script that would generate a random hex number for a color ie: #+()+()+()+()+()+() and the text shown on the button would be the same as the hex number generated.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI got 3 sections on the site, at the bottom of each are 5 bars which are used to change the text color. I'm trying to minimize the code, so I created an array which contains all the colors, but I'm not sure where to put the call to the array. If I put it in the for loop, the selected color will always be green no matter which color you click. The bars should also go up to 40px when clicked and when the next bar is clicked the current bar at 40px should go back to it's originals size(20px)
this is the JS
var colors = new Array(4);
colors[0] = "#ed1c24";
colors[1] = "#736257";
colors[2] = "#620460";
colors[3] = "#e87e01";
colors[4] = "#00a650";

For example. If I have this loop

for (var i=0; i < number_of_links; i++)

There are two radio buttons, sometimes one will be disabled, other times the other will be disabled. I would like to make a script that: First: Changes the color of surrounding text of the disabled radio button to the color grey. Second: Checks the other radio button.
This was my plan: I would make a script that: First: Removes all the current classes and add the class "greyed_out" (or better: change only the color of) the parent element, all siblings and children of siblings (if any) of the radio button that is disabled at that time.Second: Sets the attribute "checked to the other radio button". I made a script, but when I set the bottom radio button to disabled the script doesn't work:

Any way to change row colors of table based on content.
For example:
<span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">+-----|-----------------------+</span><br style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">
<span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">|acess| COSTUMER |</span><br style="font-family: courier new,monospace;"><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">|-----------------------------|</span><br style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">
<span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 1 | joseph |</span>
<span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 2 | mary |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 3 | john |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 4 | joseph |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 5 | joseph |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 6 | guile |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 7 | mary |
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">| 8 | craig |
+-----------------------------+<br style="font-family: courier new,monospace;">
</span><span style="font-family: courier new,monospace;"></span>
in this table, the name Joseph and Mary are repeated, so, every "joseph" or "mary" row must have the same color (picked randomly or not). so as every "craig", "guile" or "john" row.
I don't want to use css class names based on the name of the "costumers" because I don't know how many costumers are and how many times they appear or repeat.

I have a form which contains FOUR text fields (e.g. TEXTFIELD1, TEXTFIELD2, TEXTFIELD3 & TEXTFIELD4). Each text field holds a HEX,DEC color value. ABOVE this form I have a table with TWO ROWS (ROW1 and ROW2). ROW1 should correspond with TEXTFIELD1, so that when the VALUE in TEXTFEILD1 is changed the background color of ROW1 will change to match the HEX,DEC VALUE entered in TEXTFIELD1. The same would happen with TEXTFIELD2 and ROW2. TEXTFIELD3 should be used to change the color of the TEXT inside ROW1 and TEXTFIELD4 should change the color of the TEXT in ROW2. I also wanted to know if it would be possible to achieve this without clicking any button.

I am quite new to JavaScript code and have a challenge. I would like to add a mouseover script to several different images e.g. Manufacturer logos which would cause a background image to change accordingly. There are eight different logos which would refer to eight background images respectively. I have found several scripts which cause the image which has the mouseover to change but not any which cause a different image to change. Is this practical using JavaScript?
