View 1 RepliesI have a div set up like this
<div id='y' style='background-image: url(./randomcolor.php?ibase=
<?
php echo $entity
->
[code]....
I am having an issue with setting the background-image of a another div #x to the background image of #y.Correct me if I am wrong but I think you would do this in a simple case by saying
$
(
'#x'
).
[code]....
So when it does it, it is getting the URL of the generator (I logged it. what is actually being passed is [URL] This would require a server call to generate a new image, In this particular application, even if it wasn't exactly the image y had it would be acceptable. But it's not doing it. It is not getting any image at all. Am I doing something wrong, i.e. is it supposed to just work? I would think not, since the page has already been rendered. This is almost an ajax situation but I don't know how to do it for an image. I don't really want to generate a new image anyway, I'd be very happy to get the one that's already there. How would I access the actual image already attached to y and not do another server call?
I am trying to dynamically resize an image. Here is my code:
<img border="0" src="images/right.gif" width="16" height="100" name="right">
<SCRIPT Language=Javascript>

function ChangeImgSize(){

The image does not get resized. I've been testing the page on current browsers (IE 8, Firefox, Chrome). I'm certain I'm doing something newbish, I don't really know Javascript all that well.
I have the following function to dynamically create an image (in this case a toolbox button):
Which works fine in IE8 and IE9, but in IE7 it refuses to pick up the style 'button'. I've even tried putting in btn.class='button' but JS throws up an error.
If I specify the style by btn.style.position='Absolute' it picks this up OK. However, it won't respond to the onclick event either.
I have heard that setAttribute is buggy with IE7, which is why I tried to specify each attribute directly.
The style sheet for class button is:
(BTW, no link to a website as this is local on my machine atm)
I want to display a 'preview' image for a file upload field. I assigned a function to the onChanged event for the file input that gets the value of the input text field, does some minor regex to fix the string, and then creates a new 'img' tag element and assigns the fixed string as the img's src: Code:
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a div called large_pic. I have links beside it called pic1, pic2, pic3.
I would like to know how do I dynamically load images into the large_pic div whenever I click on a link. eg. clicking on pic1 link will load image1 into the large_pic div.
I would normally use iframes instead of the div, but that was when I was using tables. Now I am using divs, so I would like to use a div method if it's possible.
I have written some JAVA code that pulls and image from a DB and writes out the byte stream.When I call the URL directly I can see my image, however when I use something like:
function loadImage(filename) {
$(document).ready(function() {
alert('loadImage Called with ' + filename);

How do I dynamically display images in javascript without hardcoding it. I cannot use php or any other language. My teacher said it is doable in javascript. so right now I have it hardcoded in:
var bellTowerArray = new Array();
bellTowerArray[0] = "bellTower01.jpg";
bellTowerArray[1] = "bellTower02.jpg";
bellTowerArray[2] = "bellTower03.jpg";

I have multiple categories of images so not just these two. I don't want to have to type in fountain# etc and stuff like that.
I am creating a website and there is an option for the user (after he login to the website, he enters into his workspace page)to upload a background image of his choice to his workspace page.
Can the user dynamically upload a background image to his webpage?
Is it possible to dynamically add an image to a document using document.write? I've been playing around with it and I'm able to add the image tag, but the image is not being displayed. I'm only getting the place holder. The path to the image is correct and it does exist. Is there something special that must be done? I have tried doubling the slashes on the off chance that that was the problem.
View 6 Replies View Related[code]The image's height is 376px. So once the content goes after 376px, the blue bgcolor alternate takes over. But what i want is, once the content crosses the 376px height, the background image should dynamically stretch and not repeat.If this is not possible please do tell me how to increase the height of image in <img> using DOM methods.Again this should increase when the image's original height becomes greater than 376px

There will be a tiny sprite-like image in the middle. What I want is to have a partial circle around the sprite appear. It will have a drop-down with 3 options, each changing the diameter of the circle. Then I want the other input box to accept numbers and that number will decide how complete the circle is, out of 360 Degrees. For instance, if someone typed in 359, then their circle would be almost complete.
i have a function to dynamically create an image on the screen.the problem is i need it to slide down the screen, and i am using the function to have the picture up in more than one place at more then one one time.is their anything i can build into the div tag containing the image that would let it scroll down on its own (or some other method of accomplishing this i haven't thought of)i am putting my function below
function newtree(){
x_axis=Math.floor(Math.random()*height);
newdiv=document.createElement('div');[code].....
the 'height' and 'width' variable are already set to the available room in pixels

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving trouble specifically with onmouseout, onmouseover, and onclick used on areas in an image map. I'm trying to replicate the interactive hearing aid sound demonstration that can be seen on contactainc.com homepage but program it with javascript instead of flash. In the end of countless hours of research, frustration, and browser incompatibility (only chrome will actually change the image, ie nor firefox do anything except display one image).
Here's my guidelines...
The hearing aid has three switches. An image is created for each switch being selected. (3 images) The first switch is the off button or stops any sound playing when selected. The second switch upon selection plays a sound file of somebody talking. The third switch upon selection plays a sound file of the same person talking but also with background noise. A polygon area has been created for each switch as part of an image map. (3 areas)When a switch is selected (let's say switch 1), the other switch areas upon mouse rollover are highlighted in yellow (either switch area 2 or switch area 3) but the switch that was selected (switch 1) doesnt change upon mouse rollover. So this had me create 2 more images per switch displaying the switch selected and the two other areas highlighted. In total this is 9 images.(3 imaged per switch + (3switches * 2 switch areas highlighted) = 9).
The image names are as followed HearingAid(switch number)(nothing,a, or ) corresponding which switch is highlighted; a being bottom most switch area different than switch that's selected and b being top most switch area. So they are HearingAid1.png, HearingAid1a.png, HearingAid1b.png HearingAid2.png, HearingAid2a.png, HearingAid2b.png, HearingAid3.png, HearingAid3a.png, HearingAid3b.png.
The original image will change to the appropriate image out of the 9 images I created based upon left clicking an area to select the switch and mousing over other switches which are then highlighted.
My first problems from my first few attempts was that when I selected a different switch from the original off switch, my onmouseout for all switch areas was programmed to revert to the original off switch image and not the image I selected. So I thought I needed to dynamically change those attribute values to new ones every time I selected a new switch. I couldn't find anything in my research that would help me since I tried a lot of things and saw them all fail when testing them out.
My latest attempt I thought had the most potential but it seems like the onclick attribute is working at all. I can't figure out why either.
Here's my latest code:
I'm trying the JavaScript example on JavascriptKit (url...) for Dynamically populating a JavaScript image slideshow. However, it doesn't work - it sits with the original image. I'm guessing that it's not getting the image array. The instructions aren't clear, so this is what I've tried thus far with no success:
1. Place PHP portion in Head. No joy.
2. Save PHP portion as getimages.php in the dir with the images. No joy.
3. Save PHP portion as getimages.php in the same dir as the page to display the slideshow. No joy.
4. Save the PHP portion without any HTML tags (example code only) as getimages.php in the dir with the images.
In all cases the JavaScript portion is inserted where I want the slideshow.
I have links that, when clicked, open up a larger image. If the link has the class of "sold selected" then a semitransparent "sold" image should dynamically load as well. What I'm noticing is that it seems to appear on every other click, and I don't know why.
I've created experimental files so as not to disrupt the functioning site. [URL]
I added the variable "linkClass" on line 18; value assigned on line 53 as part of the linker.click anonymous function IF statement on lines 106-108 at bottom
I also have an alert on line 105 just to prove to myself that linkClass was appropriately setting (it is). Images 4-12 should all have the "sold" banner attached, but no matter which of those I click first, the clicking previous/next makes the banner appear/disappear.
I’d like to inject the following Chicago image [URL] into the 3rd position of my list. My list is being dynamically generated using getJSON, and pulls from the flickr API. How do I accomplish injecting this image into the third position? Here is a link to my work: [URL]

I'm new to cycle plugin. Tried out the demo for adding new slides to the slide show as shown [URL]..
My slide show also has external controls - play, pause, next & prev
Problem is I don't know if there a way to pause a slide show & add an image (which is not a part of slides in the show) after each 4th slide then resume again on click event of that image?
I have the task of creating an asp page that generates a standard email newsletter. The HTML Image Width and Height tags need to be set to the actual image size (no they haven't been set to a standard size on the server) as they are read in via an while loop. I believe in ASP, you are out of luck for a function that does this, so Javascript may be the way forward.
My code is as follows for the image inside an anchor tag, as you can see i tried the min and max style properties for the image, but this does not set them exactly. e.g. width="120px" height="94px", which is what is required.
An example of the resizing of an image can be seen here as well as at most photography galleries that are full-screen. You can see the size of the image change by shrinking your browser window. I want to make that gallery using javascript. I already have the ability to make a horizontal slider with left/right navigation - that part is easy. I just have never done anything with dynamic image sizes.One thing that was brought up to me already was the ability to shrink the browser window to fit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to tween an image dynamically from it's current position on a mouse over event. A good example of what I want can be found here. (the nav cloud) I haven't been able to find anything on jquery or anywhere else, so here's what I've come up with so far:
[Code]...
I am using the Collapsible Checkbox Tree jquery Plugin.For that I have inserted this linein the javascrypt code:
When I make a list in the HTML code using the <ul id="example"> works perfectly.
But when I tried to make the list dynamically calling a JSON file, does not works fine.
If I insert theready(fn) mentioned above inside the javascrypt function that create dynamically the element<ul >as is shown next:
Improves a little bit, but still does not work fine. Specifically does not show the plus and minus sign, then I can not open or collapse it.
I tried also with thecheckboxtree pluginand I encountered the same problem.
At this point I have been able to add the row. But what I want to do and am having trouble with is alternating the row colour to the dynamically added row element.
Sample of code I am using:
Code:
var tbody = document.getElementById('tableItems');
var row = document.createElement("tr");
var remainder = tbody.rows.length % 2;
if(remainder) {
row.setAttribute("class", "rowLightGreen");
}
var td1 = document.createElement("td");
td1.appendChild(document.createTextNode(qty));
td1.setAttribute("class","qty");
row.appendChild(td1);
tbody.appendChild(row);
One thing that puzzles me, is that even after adding a row the table my table.rows.length still = 0.
Does anyone know how I can determine the appropriate amount of rows so that I can apply the appropriate class?
Or is there just something blatantly wrong in my approach?
Im sure this is a very silly problem, but im trying to create a li and then set its class in jquery but it doesn't seam to be working
Code:
var listid = field + "_errormessage";
