View 1 RepliesI want to be able to pull in the latest tweet from my twitter feed onto my site. I'm able to do this using one of several pre-written scripts that allow you do this, but my problem is that I want to pull it into a quote tag <q> and no as an unordered list <ul>.I don't know much about JS but I've scoured the files provided by this free jquery feed (URL.../) and the best I can do is change the <ul> to a <q>. The <li> is still showing within the <q> but there is no sign of any <li> elements in the JS file, so I'm assuming this is coming from somewhere else that I can't find.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am a novice jQuery user and I was assigned a job to create an interactive map for a website. I want to make a simple nap, but I have no idea where to start. I am trying to make a simple map (as attached) so when a user comes to a homepage, the map would be visible. Then when the cursor is rolled over the map, different states appear in different color and when clicked, the user is taken to another page. Sounds simple, but I cannot find any useful info.I do not want anyone posting any codes, I want to try to do it myself.

But I was wondering; is it possible to create something which will load a page (or php include) when the website has been fully loaded with a loading bar?
The reason why I want this, is cause I am building a website and it will have a ping (to severs) script, but it takes a "long" time to load (depending on the servers that are being pinged). So it can take anywhere from 2 or 3 seconds to 10 seconds (or even more). So it would be nice that first the website would be loaded completely and when that's done, it should load the ping script and show that it's loading with a loading bar.
Is this possible and easy to do?
Is there a way to create a bookmarklet that discerns the shift (or
ctrl) key state at the time the javascipt is launched?????

It is a map of a fictional area ( a real area but there are fictional buildings and characters on it) so I don't think google maps plugins are suitable.
In other words, I need a map where by clicking the objects on the map, a popup window pops up with additional information about the 'scene' or a 'character'.
In addition, the map will be dark from the beginning and more and more sites and characters will be revealed on it every week.
I want to know the latest available version of the browser i am using and also i want to upgrade my current browser version to the latest one when i call a javascript method.on body onload i want to change my current browser version to the latest available version of the browser.

The general idea is that when the user hovers over a bullet on a selected city, it would bring up a lightbox type of thing, which would have multiple images in the lightbox which the user can then select and link to a seperate page depending on which image they clicked. I'm looking for 5-radio button replacement. The user should be able to slide a slider between values from 0 to a 100. Text will appear under it that will say "I strongly agree" "I agree somewhat" "I am indifferent" "I disagree" "I strongly disagree" depending on the values of the slider (they should change in real-time). Unfortunately I do not have the skill to make one, especially one that has a good browser-compatibility. Does anyone know any good snippets? I'll keep searching on google and post back if I find one.

"Javascript does not work with Firefox". Below a very very simple html with Javascript. Using MS IE v8 I have found that the code works very well. Filling nothings in the textfield "your name" and subsequently clicking on the button and a window will popup with the text "Sorry, you forget to: ...". However, using Firefox instead...it does not work. A bit remarkable; the Javascript is very easy! Could you please check what went wrong? I have activated Javascript in the Firefox browser and the security is ok for Javascript.

When the image is loaded, there's a javascript code for re-measurement, for adjusting to the available screen area.but unfortunately the result is the image is loaded at its original size. The objImage.src is well retrieved from AJAX, like i can test with the alert: the getsrc.php?id="+img opens a MYSQL query on the database and returns the matching path to the img id, which is set before.
