and a function:

}
I know that within the function I can access properties of the field (e.g. theField.name and theField.value). But how do I access theField's index number in the form's elements[] array -- from the "this" reference that was passed to the function? I.E. if this field is elements[3], how can I get at that 3?

Jul 20, 2005I need help finding where an error is occuring in my code. I use a
try-catch block like this in my global.asa:

And this is what is SOMETIMES returned when I display
Application('errormsg'), the rest of the time, it works:

Path not found. Error number: -2146828212. Error message: Path not found
But I don't know which path is not found! (I'm using the filesystem object
and importing data from a file into SQL.) Is there a way to display the
line number of the error or more details? Or do I just have to try to catch
the error by going through each bit of code?

There's a Javascript error saying that form.file is undefined. It's strange because I see in Firebug that "file" actually exists as a property of "form". The same happens if I get rid of the temporary variable "form" and I do it this way:
So, I eventually had to use the getElementById('image' + i) method in order to do what I wanted. But there must be a "natural" way to get a value from an array defined in a form.

So far, I have the following which just creates the items and appends or prepends them to the element depending on whether one item exists already. I just need a way of adding an attribute so I can then reference the current item when clicked and remove it. What would be the simplest method to use?

foo["bar"]. Is there a way to get the numeric index of that array
without iterating through the entire array?
What I need to do is find the "next" or "previous" entry in the array,
but the keys are strings, instead of numerical indeces.

Apr 8, 2009I have an array in which each element is a long string of various values separated by a particular character.I want to be able to search the array using the first value of each element to get the index.I cannot see how to do this so I have started to create a function for this.I want to take the original array, split out the value into another array and search the new array.I can then use the index returned to retrieve the full string from the original array.However I am having a problem when trying to set the new array and I do not know enough JS to understand what is going wrong.Here is the code:
