Unable To Access ContentDocument Properties / Sort It?
Dec 23, 2010
I have a very simple setup with an IFrame code...
The first alert works just like it should, but the second doesn't appear (and all further execution stops). There is no single property or element of the contentDocument i can reach. Can anyone help me to figure out the problem?
I'm trying to get the gallerynav to sort the thumbnails based on their class. It does not work at all. I've gone over line by line but I can't see the mistake.
When I run JSLink i get the error: Error: Problem at line 37 character 14: Cannot set property 'first' of undefined Implied global: $data 13,14, arr 14,15,25, jQuery 28, $ 30 Unused variable: read_button 30 "$", r 32 "read_button"
It would appear that it is not possible to retrieve CSS properties such as min-width if they have been set from a class. However, I don't want to have to style everything directly with the style attribute whenever I need these properties. Is there a reliable method of getting these properties as applied to element from a CSS class?
I have found I cannot access the selectedIndex property unless I preceed by get(0). Am I missing a simpler way of getting at not jQ properties from a jQ object?
I am fairly familiar with the concept of Objects and their properties and methods, but javascript being object based as opposed to object oriented has me stumped on how to access an object's properties from an onclick event handler created for another object created within the original object.
In the example below, I have a constructor function called anyObj. to which I pass an object reference to an element.
anyObj has 3 properties and one function increaseWidth()
increaseWidth() creates a new button with an onclick event handler and this is where I have a problem.
The onclick function needs to increase the value of anyObj's this.width property. I originally had a line this.width += 10; in the onclick but quickly realised why this wasn't working because the this in the onclick function refers to the new button object and not the this.width property of anyObj.
The workaround I have used, and it works, is to make a copy of all the this.xxxxx properties. eg. width = this.width; and use the width variable in the onclick as you can see below. This "workaround" works fine but doesn't feel ideal to me.
So is there a better way to access the anyObj()'s properties from within the onclick function than the way I have done it? Obviously I would prefer to not have to make copies of all the anyObj() properties like I have to make them accessible to the onclick function.
I've created an object and within this object, I've added an eventlistener. But the problem now is that after addEventListener is being called to access a callback function, the callback function is not able to access the properties within its own class. Code:
I'm having trouble accessing a custom property that I've created for an object. Does anyone see the problem with this code? this.imageSrcs is undefined inside of getImages.
Quote:
Gallery.prototype.imageSrcs = new Array(); Gallery.prototype.getImages = function(json) { if (json) {
By the way, I know someone will comment, by "does not work, I mean on the load of the page, the alert is not displayed, nor are any errors. Thanks for any help you can offer.
I'm pulling data from a database using a RESTlet server, and using Flot to produce a graph.
My problem is that whenever I make the following AJAX call, I get an "Access to restricted URI denied" error on Firefox. On Internet Explorer I have other problems, but I can tell by my server logs that at least the AJAX call happens, which is more than I can say for Firefox. code...
The url is correct, and the server is hosted on this machine, but Firefox thinks it's trying access another domain. The html file containing this code is located on my hard drive.
I would like to be able to access the raw CSS code that has been loaded for the specific page. I'm not looking to change the code (I know how to use jQuery for CSS manipulation etc...) I just want to parse through it and extract some useful information.I considered just loading the stylesheet references in the page, then placing a request to the server for the .css file, but this feels messy even if the browser happens to have the page cached from having just requested it.Has anyone got a clue as to how one would go about this? As always, I think its best if it uses jQuery XD, however, I just really want to get this done
I'm very new to jQuery and registered a new account on the website yesterday. I can log in using my account details OK, but when I try to use the Plugins section of the site I get :- Access denied You are not authorized to access this page.
If I try to search for a pluging, I get
Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator.
I can't find a FAQ section in the forums, or any link on the site to contact the website admins, so I'm hoping someone here may be able to help, or at least point me in the direction of someone who can.
OK so Ive been using jquery for a little bit now and love it. I am a ColdFusion developer. I have a need where I would like to present the user with a list of categories and the user can drag and drop to sort, but then I need to post this new sort order to the database. So I see there are a ton of cool drag & drop plugins for jquery. I understand how they work and I can get it to work as far as spitting out DIVS or spitting out ULs that can be sorted, but then what? So now they are sorted on my screen and not really part of the form. How do I translate that into something I can do a post to the database with? Do I do an AJAX call every time they drop an item and try to extrapolate the sort order on that item after they drop it? Do I populate a hidden form field with the constantly updating sort order list? MAybe a list of ID's? How does everyone else go about this this task? I'm sure there is more than one way and I'm sure this is a common task.
how to add extra properties to html elements as I was storing data in html attributes. After looking at some others code including Raphael and this addEvent code. [URL] They seem to treat objects just like an array. obj[property] = value; This would have been extremely helpful to know previously as I have needed to be able to include variables in property names - but have resorted to making the whole thing a string and calling exec() on it.
I'm having a problem with the following html (I've simplified it down to a simple test case). Could anyone point out why Mozilla is having problems with this (I've tried so many variations that I can't think of any more). In the actual code I have an if statement to handle IE but I need the code to work in Mozilla and IE.
One more question about manipulating iframes. In a script I've looked through to investigate AJAX file uploads, there is this technique for accessing the contents of an iframe:
Code: if(frame.contentWindow) { var thebody = frame.contentWindow.document.body; }else if(frame.contentDocument) { var thebody = frame.contentDocument.document.body; }
I haven't been able to find much info on contentWindow and contentDocument. In fact, other sources I've found talk only about using contentWindow to access an iframe's contents, ignoring contentDocument completely. What is the difference between the two, and what browsers is the contentDocument check targeting? Any modern browsers, or is this a backward compatibility thing?
function sortBy(prop,arr) { sortProp=prop; arr=arr.sort(sortFunc); }
function sortFunc(part1,part2) { if (part1[sortProp]>part2[sortProp]) retVal=-1; else if (part1[sortProp]<part2[sortProp]) retVal=1; else retVal=0; return retVal; }
This however allows me to sort only by one criteria. I need to sort by weight first and then by height for those items that have the same weight.
Suppose I have a page with a set of hyperlinks on it. Each time a hyperlink is clicked a new window is opened. What i basically want is the following : I want a counter at the client side which increments each time the user clicks one of those links. At the bottom of the page I'll put a button which should be used to send the value of the counter away.
The problem is I only know server side scripting and have no idea on how to implement such a counter on the client side. I even wonder if it's possible to detect when a link is clicked. The links may be buttons if that would make it easier, it's just that i don't want to reload the page each time a link is clicked but only at the end when the button at the bottom would be clicked.
I'm working on displaying a list of events on my site and need to display them in ascending order. i've got an xml document that looks like this(with multiple events obviously,Can anyone help me with sorting this? So far I have it displaying only events that are occuring after the present date(currentDate). How would I go about displaying them so that the events displayed will be in the order of the earliest date displaying first?
