SubSelect Of Table, RowIndex,

Sep 29, 2006

Most JS people have seen sorttable.js and similar implementations.
I'm trying to do a SubSelect of an existing table, restricting values
in a Column to spec. range.

Rows manipulated through sorttable are not copies of the row objects,
they are ref's to the tbl row. Therefore care must be taken not to
delete them if they are needed, etc.

I'm getting used to the API:
tbody.deleteRow(rowIndex)
tbody.insertBefore(oRowI, oRowJ);
tbody.replaceChild(oRowI, oRowJ);
tbody.appendChild(row)

At some point during sort, the rowIndex gets re-ordered, I'm just not
sure when.

One strange result in my testing (possibly programmer error) of
deleteRow()

for (var k=0; k<telem.tBodies[0].rows.length; k++)
telem.tBodies[0].deleteRow(k); Code:

JQuery :: Accessing Table Cells By Rowindex?

Jun 8, 2010

I'm dynamically creating an HTML table using JQuery. I'm not assigning id's to the tr or td tags in the table. The reason I'm not, is that it seems complicated, given that the table is initially loaded and then the user can add and delete rows. I'll also need to sort the table on demand.

I maintain the current row the user has clicked on as a global variable (curRow) using this...
$("#prodTable tbody tr").live('click', function() {
curRow = $(this)[0].rowIndex;
});

I want to do input validations on certain cells based on values in other cells in the row. for example, the value of cellA cannot be greater than the sum of the values of cellB-CellD. The question is, given a certain table rowindex, how can I access the cells in the row? Is this not a good approach?

Uncaught Exception When Calling RowIndex.

Jul 23, 2005

When I call addField(), my table appears to be populated correctly
with a new row in the table with all the required fields. However,
when I call delete row on any new rows that have been created, I get
the following error:

Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure

http://localhost:3000/form/edit_fields/1 :: removeField :: line 65"
data: no]

The error appears to happen when the last line of removeField() gets
called...specifically rowToDelete.rowIndex throws the exception.

I should mention that I am running this code on Firefox 1.0, however,
when I run it on IE6, it doesn't work either, but I don't know what
the error is (I just don't know how to get a trace of the JavaScript
errors). Code:

JQuery :: Clone Table Row And Clear Inputs And Table Cells?

Dec 8, 2010

I have a table that I wrote/borrowed a function to clone a row in a table. I want the new row to be cleared of data.

$("#addrow").live("click", function() {
//clone last row to variable
var row = $('#dataTable tbody>tr:last').clone(true);
//clear text boxes

[Code]....

The code to clear the text boxes and selection boxes work great. The code to clear the text from the table cells that do not have a form element do not work at all. The .Client and .Project cells that I want to clear are populated by an ajax call and the .total cell is populated by a function that sums the values the text boxes.

Dynamically Add Another Table Once Text Fields In The Existing Table Is Clicked On?

May 26, 2010

how I would dynamically add another table once text fields in the existing table is clicked on. So pretty much what I have is a table with 5 textboxes lined up horizontally in the first row along with couple of buttons in the second row. What I want is that once one text box is clicked, another table like the one above is created and appears below that initial table. So this is the inital table that should be replicated on each click:

<table>
<tr>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>
<td><input type="text" /></td>

JQuery :: Stripe Table Rows After Table Is Reloaded

Feb 3, 2011

I have a site with 2 side by side tables with matching data. The left table is a drag-n-drop implementation so you can reorder the values in the database just by dragging and dropping. It works wonderfully. I want the right table to reflect the changes instantaneously. I got the right table to reload itself with the following jquery line:

$("#newMeet").load(location.href+" #newMeet>*","");

I stuck that line in the "Update" function of my "Sortable" funtion. And the line that I am using to initially stripe the right table is:

$(".checks2:even").addClass("grayBack");

Now matter where I stick that line, I cannot get the table re-striped after it reloads.

Table With Sum - Change Orientation On Table Output To Go Up And Down Instead Of Left To Right?

Aug 2, 2011

I'm taking a class in web technologies, and we're working with some basic Java.

The assignment is to have numbers 1-10 and their squares fill into a table... Then to have them sum at the end.

My problems are:

How do I change the orientation on the table output to go up and down instead of left to right?

Do I have to write another for or while loop to get the sum's for these numbers, or can I do it from within what I've already written?

Flexible Lock Table Head/Scroll Table CSS?

Jul 2, 2008

I've come up with a way (at least in IE7 and Firefox 2 and 3) to create a table that lets you scroll the body contents while the table header row remains fixed in place.

It's mostly a CSS solution, but it does use the IE CSS expression operator and uses some DOM properties to assign some IE heights and widths. The other CSS solutions I've seen to this problem all tend to be pretty inflexible and hard to implement in the real world for tables of varying sizes. They require that you to hard code your table widths and heights in multiple locations in the CSS and involve the use of more than just one class name assignment.

I wanted a solution that could handle tables of different sizes on the same page. Something that allowed you to assign just one class and allowed the you to specify the height in the actual table that you wanted to lock the headings for.

I tried to keep the HTML table mark-up as clean as possible. All you need do is to simply assign a single CSS class name to a DIV that surrounds the table then assign a height you want the table to be as an embedded style. That's it.

Evening Out Tables - Table On The Right Is Not Even With The Table On The Left

Aug 31, 2011

As you can see, the table on the right is not even with the table on the left. This code has worked in the past,

<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload = function () {
var divArray = document.getElementById('tablecontent').offsetHeight;
var subtraction = divArray - 442;
var tablesidebar = document.getElementById('tablesideba');
tablesidebar.style.paddingBottom = subtraction + 'px';
};
</script>

But that only works for a static page. The problem is now, both tables, the one on the left, and the one on the right, are dynamic. Either could have different heights depending on what page you are visiting. Different pages also have more than one table, and the only way I could see this working is with a million if statements or each page, defining each table being used. Is there anyway to get these two tables evened out, no matter the content using JavaScript?

Put An Expanding Table Inside A Table

So the final product would look like this when the "10001" invoice button is clicked:

Del Table Rows Or Vis/Invis Table.

Aug 16, 2004

What I am trying to accomplish is this, I have 4 radio buttons with something different on each. Now depending on what is selected, a table shows with maybe 10 items (its very random really, could be 5, could be 50, but probably more like 20 at most), anyways. I was thinking just delete all the rows, and just recreate the table... but now after thinking about it, just make the tables invisible, and visible depending on what is selected... which is suggested, and could anyone give me hints, or show me how I would be able to accomplish this?
