Let's say I have a string, something like this: sadasd4assadasd8ssssda5asadasd3asdasdasd8dsdsd

I'm triying to convert a string (0000, 0001, 0002, 0003,0004,0007, ..., ... )in INT. Betwen 0000 and 0007 theres no problem. But the 0008 is converted to 1. I'm using
Code:
Fnumb = parseInt(numb)
if (123 > 33) will return true
and
if ("123" > 33) will return true
So my question is, if the above behaviors are the same?? If string is
a number, and compare with another number, it will be the same behavior as compare 2 numbers?
In this case, it is comparing 2 strings that are numbers, so they are
string comparisons here. correct?
if ("123" > "33") will return true
In this case, "33a" is not a number, that's why when it compare with
another number, it always return false. correct?
if ("33a" > 33) will return false...
I want to remove all symbols of an input string, so I have this javascript command:
Code:

I am generating a string from AJAX data which contains forms and submit buttons. I then try to assign this string to a div using innerHTML. This works fine in IE but Firefox strips form tags and every thing in between form tags. How to solve this issue
Example code:
str = "<form action='somepage.php' methid=post><input type=text name=some_field><input type=submit value='Submit'></form>";
document.getElementById('some_div').innerHTML=str;
I am using Firefox version 3.6.16
does anyone know if there is a way to strip an entire form upon submission, of commas? i can do it field by field, but since there is over 30 fields, it seems a bit silly, if there is a more efficient way of doing things...

I'm making a quick and dirty Google Calendar displayer with help from Full Calendar and am struggling to display the details of each Google event correctly. As you may know, if you're not logged into Google Calendar, if you're given an event link or invitation you will be taken to a dynamically generated page displaying the basic details of that event. It includes a <link> ed stylesheet and inline style="..." for each element. I have attached a screenshot of a typical event page.
I'm trying to strip out all the style and just display the content:
eventClick: function(event) {
if (event.url) {
$("#details").hide().load(event.url);
$("#details *").each(function(){

Right now it allows entering "numbers only", I need it so that it allows numbers and alphabets only, no special characters or spaces.
And yes, one more question, does the first part of the code need to be added in the <head> of the document or <body> ?
The code at the above URL is as follows:
<script type="text/javascript">
// initialise variable to save cc input string
var cc_number_saved = "";

I need help with substring or trim function in javascript. Find below my code. Selection holds the value Select State, and length of the string is 14. I need to equate the Selection value to string "Select State" and execute alert message.
function selected_item() {
if (Selection=="Select State")
alert("Select the State");[code]....
I tried this:
var state=Selection.substring(0,11); and then string would be equated to state variable. But it is not working.
