How can I achieve that?I tried jQuery click event (when slide is clicked then pause jCycle and when pager is clicked then resume it). This doesn't work at all.
Doing my own fitness bootcamp site and want to fancy up my front page. My front page loads a picture and I want it to load like flash. What could I do? I have all the Adobe Software, just don't know how to use it.

I work for a company called Best of the Best (www.botb.com). We use Flash countdown clocks to mark the end of our competitions. The issue we now have is that our clients are using mobile platforms more and more and as bloody Apple wont support flash (not fully anyway) we need the option to detect whether our users have flash and if not then replace the current <OBJECT>Blah Blah Parameters etc</OBJECT> with <DIVCLASS="NON_FLASH_CONTAINER">All other bits in middle</DIV>Is this at all possible?
I'm trying to put some code together to create an image-swapping system, that when you click on the image it'll hide the image and replace it with a given iframe vimeo/youtube code...The swapping part works fine, however when the iframe loads up, it hides all other flash objects in the page, and I can't figure out why.Here's the JS
Code: function swapvideo(w,h,url) { document.getElementById('video_pholder').style.display='none';
I m trying to make a person stay on same page on cancel, but the confirm takes the user to the next page like they press ok. how can i stop it? code...
I have created no flash pages and flash pages, but instead of creating a portal at the front of the site that leads you to a flash site and a no flash site id like to do it so the page detects flash or not, and redirects to whichever URL.
Is this possible, or do multiple browsers cause problems ?
I have created a transparent flash video (virtual spokesperson) for my website. For demoing purposes, I would like to have this appear on any desired website.
This is what I am trying to produce - here a virtual spokesperson appears on the [url]website: [url]
Have a look at other sites which enable one to type in a URL and their demo virtual spokesperson appears on the given site: [url] [url]
I believe they do this within an iframe to display the underlying website.
I spent a lot of time finding code that would play an audio (.wav) file on a mouseover cue that would work in Internet Explorer 6 and FireFox without any user prompt to allow active-x scripts to be run etc, but unfortunately the code does not work in Internet Explorer 7. Can you suggest an alternative?
PROBLEM 2:
When using a image switching code to swap an image to a .gif anim that plays just once (created using Ulead Gif Animator 5), Internet Explorer 6 and FireFox begin the animation cycle only when the image has been switched. Unfortunately, Internet Explorer 7 seems to play the animation as soon as it has been loaded so when it’s switched you only see the last frame. Can you suggest an alternative? Code:
I'm trying to stop the audio in a hidden div from playing once a user clicks on the next video clip. i know this is a known bug in IE but i can't figure out how to fix this (as i am a total noob). can someone tell me how i can do this? And yes, my client refuses to use firefox and only IE
How can I play midi and/or audio files using JavaScript? I'm hoping there are some calls/APIs I can use that I am unaware of. My JavaScript book from O'Reilly seems rather lacking in this area.
I wanna play streaming audio (an asx.file) trough javascript. I allready found a tutorial on the net. Till so far it works (I can push play, pause and stop), but I want to change the volume to. An example: Code:
Do you know where the problem is? One thing that I must say is that the tutorial (where I took it from) worked with a wav-file, as you can see I work with a streaming file (asx-file).
I am not sure whether this requires flash or not, therefore I'd like to ask if it is technically possible to create your own audio/video player with JavaScript/jQuery? If not, could I create something similar just not with full functionality? Like stop, next, previous, etc. buttons?
I managed to construct a script to play random sound files to make listening tests for students. The audio files were actually taken from video files and I would now like students to be able to see the video too. I have the code below which works fine for my (and the students') needs, except that only the audio is played and not the video (and the mov files definitely do contain video). Can anyone suggest how I might change the code so that the video is shown too, either on the same page, or in a pop-up window? I would have thought it would be a matter of changing the window.doSound lines, but if so I can't figure out how.
I worked on this website :[URL]and cannot find out why it does not work in IE while it works in other browsers. The small video does not play while the sound does. As far as I can see it works fine in FF and Chrome.
I want to play an audio file embedded on my page by clicking on an audio image and the page change to a new page. Is there a cross-browser Javascript way to do this? Right now the code I have is ...
<html> <head> <title>Dictionary: homeostasis</title> <link href="liveink.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"/> </head> <body> <div class="dictionary-area"> <span class="dictionary-word">homeostasis</span> (<span class="dictionary-pos">Noun</span>) <br/> <div class="dictionary-defn">The maintenance of a constant internal state in a changing environment that is maintained by continually making adjustments to the internal and external environment.</div> <a href="homeostasis.mp3" target="new"><img src="audio.gif" border="0"></a> <div class="dictionary-close-window"><a href="javascript:window.close()">Close Window</a></div> </div> </body> </html>
The inconvenience is right now a new window is spawned to play the audio., which contains the controller for playing the audio (complete with pause, stop, and play buttons). All my audio clips are less than 3 seconds in length.. How can I play the audio file without launching the controller? I don't care if there's no way to stop/pause the audio once it's started.
I'm trying to clear all the contents in the div (for stopping possible audio), but when i clear it and open the layer again its like the jquery don't find the id's inside the div.
I am really lost in trying to hook up the controls. I've gone through and gotten all the files together from the demo, and tried using some of the UI helpers on "git" but I need an example to follow that's more for beginners
I have a project that aim to allow people who participate in the charity to record their experience in helping children in various poor countries. In order to make it more convenient, I am hoping to put this audio recorder that will enable users to record --> stored in my data base --> show to public in a forum link structure!
I'm trying to figure out how [url].... has created the audio player at the top of their pages, that continues to play a song even when the user changes pages.It appears they have done this without the use of flash.
