Special Values From Drop-down Menu & Total In Simple Form?
May 10, 2011
I have the perfect form for a client - but its missing one thing. She sells hair clips in various colors. A user can select a hair clip color and quantity quite easily (as seen in the code below). My issue is that she wants to be able to give the user a 'special price' based on the quantity ordered by the user. Contrary to simply adding the default price of $7 over and over again based on the quantity selected.The way I want it to work...
1 clip is $7
2 clips are $12
3 clips are $22
5 clips are....etc.
...however, with the way that the javascript is set up now I'm only able to select one default price. This means that whatever quantity is selected -- it's simply multiplied by the number 7 to provide a total.
1 clip is $7
2 clips are $14
3 clips are $21
5 clips are....etc.[code].....
I have two drop down menus. I want two values to be added based on what they picked and then outputted to a text field to show a grand total in a dollar amount.
This is what I have:
Code:
Code:
Note I haven't did any type of code for the 2nd drop down menu just in case anybody says I don't see anything. I was working on trying to get started in the right direction.
I'm very new to javascript and i got this code from internet but i need to do some modification. 1. need to add another 3 more drop down menu with value so that the sub-total will be (Qty x (drop down menu 1 + drop down menu 2 + drop down menu 3 + drop down menu 4) code...
I have a for loop and depending on the numeric value will equal it to a dollar amount. then that amount will be outputted to a text field (grand total).[code]...
I am working and designing a website, and have put the simple JQuery drop menu from css tricks on my website, but every time i zoom in and out the website using ctrl +&- the site gets smaller or larger however the navigation moves and some bottoms from the menu drop down to the left or right under the first or last buttons, so does anyone know how i can fix and block the menu from moving around using HTML and its own CSS Style page, let me know.

I have been working on a calculator that works out the difference between two prices. I have two forms on my page which each generate a total, I want to add those two values together and display them in a third form.
Well I have used this same script a few times, but this time I am having an issue, When I hover the text the drop down shows, as soon as I try to hover the drop down it will disappear.I am also trying to make the background stick on main text (hover text) untl the mouse moves off. Been stuck on this for hours.Here is my HTML
I'm trying to set up a page with one form field 13 group fields inside the form, and each group containing several radio buttons with different values, at the end of the form I have a read-only text box, that I want the values to be totaled in. What im looking for is a template or something, Im not very good with javascript, and im only so so with html. the templates i have found, when i change them to suit my needs nothing works.
I have managed to write a working script to add together two values and display the total. I need to advance from that stage and now I have a 'quantity' box and a drop-down menu with a few options on it, each relating to a price. I am trying to take the quantity entered by the user and multiply it by the price they select from the drop-down and display it in a third box. So far I have:
two = document.autoSumForm.value from menu.value; document.autoSumForm.total.value = (one * 1) + (two * 1);
How can I rewrite the above to account for the different choices a user can make on a drop-down menu?
I have a drop down menu that is populated by the following javascript:
Code: // Place holder var AS_Airport = [code]....
The drop down category is Heathrow Airport. When that is selected another drop loads the shortcuts (Terminal 1, Terminal 3 etc).what i would like to do is add another selection with another set of shortcuts to the above but am unsure how to do it.for example i have tried the following without success:
Code: // Place holder var AS_Airport = {[code]....
when i use the code above to try and add another group and set of values it doesn't add any of the groups. if someone could please let me know the correct way to add a group to the above i think it will work fine.
I have a dynamic drop down menuit populates just finei want to populate my table on the same page based on the selection the user makes from the drop down menu with the information from my database.i have no problem accessing my database or with the drop down but im not at all proficient with javascript which is what i keep seeing with the "onchange" function.
My requirement is to develop a simple form with checkboxes which when selected calculate a price based on the value assigned to the checkbox. The form and calculations is working great but i need a few final touches which i can't work out.
1. I want the total to be in plain text and not in a text box maybe just drop the total value in a DIV.
2. I want the form to start with a default value for example 200, i have tried adding a hidden checkbox with a value of 200 and setting it to checked as default but it doesnt display 200 in the total when i first load the page it only calculates it when i select the first box and i need it to be displayed as the total even if no options are selected.
I am creating one website backend, where I have to amend drropbox value after submitting to client.i.e.after posting site on server my client want to amend all drop box values.. my codding is like..
I am trying to find out how to create a drop-down menu in a form that when for example "Option 1" is selected a second drop-down menu appears with further options that are specific to the first option. For example;
I am creating a html form for the local soccer league for online registration. In a drop down box the user chooses whether in house or travel and both choices have a different fees ao I would like to add a $ value to both options to be displayed in a TOTAL box at the bottom of the form before they submit. I would (if possible) like to have that total displayed on the page they are directed to after submitting the form. This page will have a link to PayPal for the user to pay their fee or I could skip that step and have the user taken directly to PayPal checkout with that total already filled in. Is this at all possible? What are my possiblities? I am NOT any where near a pro at the code writing. I can provide a link to what I have done already if requested.
I'm trying to accomplish something unique that I am not finding any examples for in web searches.I have a webpage with arrow pictures that I will set up with a clickable link that will send http arguments to a php script.I need to grab the selected value in one of the drop down menus on that same page and send that as one of the html arguments when clicking on one of the arrow buttons.
Right now those drop down lists are just html form controls, would this all work together better if they were instead javascript drop down menus? I really want to build this page the best way for it to be built and I'm not afraid to make changes if there is a better way than what I'm using now.
I have a issue with a javascript code that I wrote. This script is a simply for calculating the summation of 2 text input boxes and printing it in another text input box within the form. The entire form is then sent using Form post.The total is written back to the form's total text input box using the code below:
document.getElementById ('total').value = total
This code works perfectly for displaying the values on screen. However, when I send the form (PHP Post), the " total " field is empty. I have searched all over for possible solutions. But no solution yet.
1. document.getElementById ('total').INNERHTML = total .This does not even work on screen and total field is not updated on screen. Needless to say, the PHP Post variable was also empty.
I am making a mock website where the user make their own computer by selecting items from drop down menus. Then a value of the item comes up below. this works but i am having trouble adding the numbers up for the total cost.
Here is my code: <html><head><title>build</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><style type="text/css"> </style></head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> .....
in my webpage, i've a form which contains several textboxes and a submit button. all the textboxes are generated using php looping method.so, what i wanna do is, when user click the submit button, it will sum up all the textboxes values and pop up alert message telling the total value.
I followed a tutorial online on how to use Javascript to calculate total price. Everything works fine, when all the dropdown select value has it's own value and does not correspond to each other.
Eg : Cake Type : Round $4.00 Cake Color : Red $3.00 Cake Filling : Raspberry $4.00 So total is $11.00
The problem comes when you want to add Cake Layers and the price of Cake Color changes based on No of Layers - 1 Layer , 2 Layer and so on. E.g.: Cake Layer : Layer 1 $5.00 | Layer 2 $2.50 | Layer 3 $2.50 (for color Orange) Cake Layer : Layer 1 $7.00 | Layer 2 $4.00 | Layer 3 $4.00 (for color Red)
Do I have to use if and else conditional statement for every possibility? I am just a beginner. Attached below is the example code I have so far: var filling_prices= new Array(); filling_prices["None"]=0; filling_prices["Lemon"]=5; filling_prices["Custard"]=5; filling_prices["Fudge"]=7; filling_prices["Mocha"]=8; filling_prices["Raspberry"]=10; ..... function getFillingPrice(){
Is there a better way of simplifying this calculation method? How do I change the price of form values based on selected values on previous dropdown.
1. Add the totals from products under added/Cancelled to the sub total
2. Then taking the sub totals added them to the total products
3. Need the total # of products that was selected as well
4. Then from the total products, want to Added subtract cancelled Divide Number of products = total net (1.34% = 134% w. the decimal moved over 2 spots to the right)
I am implementing auto re-order drop down values in asp.net. My requirement is something: I have five drop down and each has populated using 1 to 5 values. when I changevalue from dropdown, other drop down values(numberordering)should change automatically.
