I have a few javascripts. I would like to show a certain script based on
the country ip of the viewer, how would I achieve this? is there html I
could use to run the javascript based on the country ip?
Say if the visitors come from German I'd redirect them to German
website, if vistors from USA, I'd redirect them to USA websites.
Is there a way to do this with javascript?
I'm trying, so far unsuccessful to make a function to change the name of a hidden input based upon the country of the user, i have some php code that determines there country of origin of the user fine. I then have a small java script function to change the name of the hidden input depending on the country of origin.
The php variable that holds the country of origin is $country; that variable then needs to be assigned to x in my java script function. $country is equal to AU if your in Australia and US if your in America.[code]...
I have a property site and I currently have it set up do that when entering a property the person selects a country.Depending on the country selected, the town drop down populates with certain towns in that country.ecause of the number of countries this javascript is pertty large and that worries me slightly. Also, if someone hasjavascript turned off then it doesn't work.In order to make it more accessible, would I have to seperate the form into 2 sepertate pages.

I have created country.html for each country with some presentation, all in the main directory.
Then i have a directory for each country where there is a country_province.html for each province.
In conclusion after i select the 2 options from the form ,when i click submit to take me to: href="../country/country_province.html".
I am new to jQuery and can't get this to work properly. I am loading content form a php page through an AJAX call. Based on the data that is returned I want to fade in a DIV or keep it hidden. Therefore I have a if construction that checks the data that was inserted in a DIV from the PHP page. If the PHP page returned 'No data' the DIV should remain hidden. The loading part works OK, but somehow the hiding or showing of the DIV doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Is the syntax correct? This is what I have now:

View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I'm working with tumblr.com which allows Javascript, but not PHP embedded in the HTML pages. It strips them out. I want to be able to get the country code (us, ca, uk, etc.) when a visitor visits my webpage so I can provide links for their locale. I'm having a very hard time finding correct information with examples to get this working. There was some .js libraries out there, but they don't work properly and say I'm in CA when I'm in US, like the jsapi from Google. Is there a way to execute a .php script which would output the country code of the visitor and be able to read/capture this result within the Javascript?

If you've seen from my previous posts in this forum, you may have noticed that i'm a newbie when it comes to javascript, anyway. I'm trying to create an array sort of thing to convert the country name's to continent, and set it as a cookie. I spent all that time writing a PHP script for this same thing only to find out that my webhost does not have the maxmind apache module. I also don't know how to get the value of the country from a javascript function.

Initially the form is loaded using ASP and HTML and the ü codes
display the characters correctly. I have the values stored in a
javascript array so that I can more easily and dynamically change the
state/region dropdown when the country changes. However, when my
javascript code tries to add the new option and print out new region
the literal value such as "Würrtemberg" is displayed instead of
the special character.
Can this be done in javascript?

The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.

a pop-up window to come up for the user to confirm that he/she does
want to purchase the goods they've ordered. The problem i have is that
if they have blocked pop-ups then that window won't show up and the
order will get confirmed without approval. Is there a command or a
work-around for this pop-up to be dispayed no matter the settings?
I have something like this in a function:

This hides a div setup like the following:

But, what if I want to have a another table
replace the table in the div above.
Say I want something like this to replace it:

For this example I have used simple content in my divs. But, in th real case, the div has a large group of nested tables of data.
I want the two to occupy the same space, so when one becomes hidden and the other becomes
visible, it is like they are replacing one another.
Since I have such large amounts of data in one of the tables, I do not want to user innerHTML to do the replacement. Is there any other way I can do it?
My Internet Explorer (version 6, on Wind. Mill.) suddenly stopped displaying XBM images, for no apparent reason. I now get the dreaded missing-image icon, where previously there would be a nice black-n-picture, whether created locally with Javascript or called in as an .xbm file. (See

I need help badly on the div tags. I dont have much knowledge on div tags.I have a div tag in my code and it should be show when there is an inactivity. Its working fine, until today I found a bug.When I scroll my browser to the end, the div is still shown at the upper part of the browser. Unless i scroll up (as a programmer, I know that div will be showing up but ofcourse user will not know) I dont know whether the div is shown.Whether the user scrolls up or down, he should be viewing the alert which I show him.
