Popup Alert When User Browse File Into Input?
Sep 18, 2011I want to pop up alert when the user browse file into input for example I have this input:

Now, when the user finish to browse an file I want a function to start working, what I mean by finish browse file is when the user select file and than click on the file he selected twice and than when the browsing files windows close I want this function to start.

In the <head> of the page isn't working. All my other browsers show it perfectly, including IE6.Is this to do with the security settings of IE7?

However i want an alert window to be displayed when the user clicks on delete asking the user if he really wants to or not ( the kind that has the two buttons ). Alert Box Popup To Confirm Before Deleting Entry?
Jan 25, 2010I am working on a PHP web application for my company and have run into a problem with Javascript. In a list I am displaying from a Mysql database, I have the option to delete certain entries. Before someone deletes an entry though, I want them to have an alert box pop up and asked then if they are sure. I have this simple javascript function in the head of the page, but whether cancel or ok are pressed, the page refreshes to the link. How can I fix it so that if you press cancel, nothing happens, other then the alert box goes away, but also allows the link to process if OK is pressed?

The programming language that we used is PHP.when staff member logs-in on his homepage and uploads a file he must choose reviewer from a dropdown menu that consists of dep. director and div. chief.When he clicks the upload button the homepage of who he chose as reviewer should receive a prompt/alert box upon log-in saying "you have a document to review".For example:if he chose division chief as the reviewer when the person logs-in on his homepage a prompt/alert should display that he has something to review.The code for uploading file is already up and working.

Dec 27, 2007On some sites I have worked on, users can delete content from their site. When they go to delete an item, I take them to a page where I pull the item details of the item they are about to delete from the dbase, and say "Are you sure you want to delete so and so". They can choose Yes / No. Yes takes them to action that runs the SQL to delete the item from the dbase. No takes them to the previous page.
I have seen some sites that have managed this process differently, where, instead of being taken to another page, a little pop up box opens saying "Are you sure", with a Yes / No option on it. Yes takes you to delete the item, No leaves them on the page they are on.
Am I right that this method uses Javascript? I know that it won't work if javascript is turned off, but - most people don't turn it off...

DOM - Show BODY In The Alert Box
Feb 11, 2009I'm experiencing some strange issues using the DOM with JS. Let's say this is my HTML source:

And here is the one line of code in my external JS file: window.alert document.documentElement.lastChild.tagName); This should show BODY in the alert box, shouldn't it? It doesn't, it shows HEAD (in FF 3, IE 7 & Safari 3) and I really have NO (!) idea why it is doing that. Let me show you another example of why it's driving me insane.. window.alert(document.documentElement.lastChild.firstChild.tagName); Should show P, no? It doesn't. FF 3: undefined, IE 7: TITLE, Safari 3: undefined. Again, the question is: Why?!

Nov 2, 2009I am creating dynamic questions and question's choices (radiobuttons or checkboxes) from database when runtime..after users answer the question, press next button to pass the next questions
For example
1) Question definition
a)choice definition
b)choice definition
c)....
Users have to choose any choices..if not, my system is giving alert, Actually my problem is about checkboxes. I created hidden textboxes, if question choices' type is checkbox. So the last choice definition is name "Other". If user checks the other choice, the hidden textbox is going to be visible. It is all okay until here. I want to give a error alert if user checks the other choice and doesn't fill the textbox when press next question. I don't validate this. How can i do it.
