I have three radio button groups with different values. My script only works for one group.

var emails = document.getElementsByName("email1");
var emailAdress = null;

I have a couple of forms which use JS validation and if the validation checks out the forms action is a new php page which sends the form (see code below). It all works fine but occasionally blank emails come through. After researching some people say I shouldn't use client side validation. Is there an easier way by tweaking the code I have rather than changing it all completely?
I need a script that will allow a user to select a vertical selection and Horizontal selection that displays a corresponding image. There are only 8 combinations (4 vertical choices and 2 horizontal choices) I just need to display the correct image and a description. There has to be only one of each selected and only display one image.[URl]..
I'm only validating one (Consent) radio button with this code but I need to validate multiple different questions/buttons.
<script> function getRBtnName(GrpName) { var sel = document.getElementsByName(GrpName); var fnd = -1; var str = ''; for (var i=0; i<sel.length; i++) { if (sel[i].checked == true) { str = sel[i].value; fnd = i; } } return fnd; }
function checkForm() { var chosen = getRBtnName('Consent'); if (chosen < 0) { alert( "Please choose one answer when you are asked to select a number." ); return false; } else { return true; } }
</script> <form action="congratulations_aff.php" method="post" name="congratulations_aff" onSubmit="return checkForm()"> <table border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td colspan="3">I consent to providing my electronic signature.</p></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3" valign="top"> <input type="radio" name="Consent" value="Y" /> Yes <input type="radio" name="Consent" value="N" /> No
<table border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"> <tr> <td>I consent to electronic receipt of my information reporting documentation.</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <input type="radio" name="Consent1099YesNo" value="Y" /> Yes <input type="radio" name="Consent1099YesNo" value="N" /> No</td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top">
For tax purposes are you a U.S. citizen, U.S. resident, U.S. partnership, or U.S. corporation? <input type="radio" name="USPersonYesNo" value="Y" /> Yes <input type="radio" name="USPersonYesNo" value="N" /> No </tr> </table> <input type="submit" value="submit" value="Submit" /> </form>
I have a problem passing my multiple radio button that come a array name:but the ajax written below just pass one single value to the next page, what can i do in order to pass multiple checked values?i have my code below:
I am a PHP programmer and new to Javascript and jQuery and I have tried about 20 examples/tutorials and cannot seem to get even close to what I want.I have a form (PHP/MySQL) with a list of subjects I got from my database, and then create a set of radio buttons from that list. And based on what radio button they select, I need to pass that variable to a div (at least that's what I want to use) and then show a list of videos that match the radio buttons value. I don't care if its a get or post or other.I tried to use GET or POST so I can use that value for my PHP/MySQL lists.I am open to any suggestions/tutorials, etc.
l need to apply a hover css on a radio button. Currently the background color only draws a box around the radio button but does not the actual radio color. l dont mind if there is no css even javascript will do
Need a script which selects a second radio button when the first radio button in the pair is clicked with the second button greyed/disable but still displaying the selection.
(Hoping to keep the input 'name' the same too if possible - maybe they can be differentiate by 'id' for the script ?)

The problem I have is that the NETiom board will only accept single commands to the HTML server built in to the NETiom.
What I dould like to do is send the following commands, timed 500ms apart to switch off 4 outputs before initilising 1 of the 4 inputs.
The commands I need to send are : B01 B02 B03 B04 T01
These 5 commands switch off relays 1 2 3 4 beofre energising relay 1
OK the code I'm using currently is as follows which gives me the correct buttons and action upto the point of cancelling any of the first 4 relays before energising one.
The buttons I would like this action on are NE SE SW NW
Maybe the NE button calls a section of code which will send B01 pause B02 pause B03 pause etc etc

I have a set of radio buttons each with an onclick event that has a numeric value. When the button is clicked an input box called "Total" is updated with the new value. The problem I'm having is that if a radio button is checked and one clicks on it again then the onclick event is triggered.
Is there any way to prevent the onclick event from triggering if the radio button is already checked?
I have 3 radio buttons with the same name ("myradio"). The value of each is a different URL (eg. value="http:[url]...)I have a link underneath these (<a href="#">Send</a>). I would like the selected radio button's value to be inserted into the href of the link, and if the user selects a different radio button that this changes.
I have a form with 4 radio buttons, the scenario is, when a user click on a radio button a hidden content will be displayed and the other three radio buttons will be disabled so that at one time a user can only click and view single radio button and the hidden content.Here is my code to show hide the hidden content but i need when the user select one radio button the other radio buttons should disable.
I need to send 15 requests to my server and get results, these results are queries to other sites. I then update my page with the results. I need to know if I am taking the correct approach, as things are working a bit slow, and i.e., seems the be as slow as a snail.
Here is my function for the first request Code: function one(){ var xmlHttpa=null; try{ xmlHttpa=new XMLHttpRequest(); } catch (e){ try { xmlHttpa=new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e){ try { xmlHttpa=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } catch (e) { alert("Your browser does not support AJAX!"); return false; }}}
xmlHttpa.onreadystatechange=function(){ if(xmlHttpa.readyState==4){ document.getElementById('resulta').innerHTML = xmlHttpa.responseText; var el = document.getElementById('showMessagea'); el.parentNode.removeChild(el); applystyle(); }} xmlHttpa.open("GET","one.php",true); xmlHttpa.send(null); }
I then call this function and others from my page, one(); two(); etc. Am I correct in my approach?
I have a selection box that allows me to select muliple items. I'm trying to use the click event handler to send an array of multiple selections back to the server using the $.ajax function and I'm having some issues. Below is my html, javascript code, and PHP server-side code:
I have a form with two submit buttons. One will save progress (which I do with a .post and no page reload) and the other finalizes the form (which I want to do a page refresh). I have a jquery dialog pop up for the finalize asking if the user is sure, and when they click "yes" I want to do a form.submit(), but I need to pass a value of "submit=Finalize" so my PHP script reads it properly. I can't use a hidden field, as both buttons are named Submit, but send different values, which the PHP then uses to figure out what to do with the data. So is there a way, like in the .post() function to send just one extra value for "Submit" in the submit() function, but still allow for the page to reload?
I am developing a messaging service between members of my site. I am developing this with asp.net mvc. When a user goes to the SendMessage view to send a message to another member, there is a dropdown list which presents the sender with all the members of the site, which he or she will pick as the recipient. However, i don't want it to be a dropdown, i want it to be a text box, where a user types in the first couple of letters of a name, and the dropdown appears then with only the members which have the same couple of letters. This is basically like every email system out there (facebook and gmail have it just like that). And after they chose one, they can select another one in the same textbox, just separated by a comma or something like that. Basically, how do i achieve that in javascript? I'm not even sure what that functionality is called, that's why i had to explain it properly.
I am attempting to pass a value from child to parent window. My issue is that I can't get the value of my radio button to the parent when there is more than one radio button. I get a result of "undefined".

I have a form with 2 button elements in it. Button elements are usedbecause they are much easier to style as needed.
<form id="testform" method="post" name="testform"> <input type="text" value="" name="firstname" id="firstname"/> <button class="button ci_btn_shdw" value="Save As New " name="_event

I am using the jquery form plugin submit the form by ajax. Everything works great in all browsersexcept for Safari and Chrome. The problem in Safari and Chrome isthat the name of the button that was pressed does not get sent back.My guess is that the form plugin is getting confused by the spaninside the button and not grabbing the name from the button element.
I am trying to produce a web form to allow wedding guests to RSVP. The form allows them to enter a name and select from a radio button whether they will be attending or not. If they select the "yes" radio button then a further pair of radio buttons are displayed for their meal preference.
They can then click a submit button or they can click another button to add another line for another guest which operates in exactly the same way. I've almost got this working, but it seems that the checkbox change handler is lost for the current guest when a new guest is added and the checkbox value is reset. I've got a feeling I'm doing something stupid but can't for the life of me figure out what.
Code (source file (renamed to .txt) also attached as I'm not sure the pasted code is too clear):
I have it set up so that there are three frames (frames and the use of javascript are encourage for practice) "bar" on the left with navigational options, "main" in the center where the body of the drill is presented, and "feedback" along the bottom where the feedback will appear.
My issue is that I have everything working except the form! I'm not sure how to make it so that upon clicking the submit button the feedback is presented in the "feedback" frame. This was suggested to me but isn't working, maybe I have a mistake somewhere? Or is there another way I can do this?
