I want to use a select object in asp and have the user pick
something from this select and have javascript open a window fired by
an event. Once the new window is open it displays another select with
data based on what was picked in the first window. Once a choice is
made in the second window, it allow users to click a submit button and

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to refer to an object while inside a jquery event function. In the following example, "this" at first is referenced as #myDiv. But inside the draggable event, "this" refers to something else. I am not sure what it is referring to, but how do I reference the original object (Human) from within this event?

Now I need a script to highlight all anchor tags which have an click event attached with them.

I'm trying to convert some Procedural code to be more Object Oriented and I'm stuck...
The page is really simple:
It's just a big picture w/ a caption under it, and a few thumbnail pics off to the side, that when clicked, replace the big picture as well as swap out the caption for a new one.
In the code (external JS file):
I've got 2 arrays:
One that holds the thumbnail image file URLs, and the other that holds the captions.
And a function:
I've created an object prototype that I can instantiate in order to:
1.) create the event: do the actual swapping of the thumbnail, and the changing of the caption.
2.) and attach that event to the thumbnail's link onclick event handler.
The code below is the closest I've come to making it work. The problem is that when I click any of the thumbnail links it only executes the last event instead of the one that corresponds to the link that was just clicked. Hopefully someone can take a look at my code and let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Simplified version of the code:
The x,y,z variable assignments are only in the window.onload function for the sake of clarity, but the event object instantiation block has to be in there for anything to work at all.
I know that the event0,event1,event2 objects work, and are attached to the onclick handler because they will swap the last thumbnail and caption when I click any of the thumbnail links. Of course that's the problem now... any click only activates the last event. It's like it attached the last event to all the onclick event handlers.
In fact, if I only create the event0 object, it works like it's supposed to... but when I create the event1 object, it does what it's supposed to and it takes over for event0. Creating event2 makes it take over for all of them. Each subsequent event# object seems to attach its own addy[ ] and caption[ ] to each previous x[ ] link.
I have the following function which gets invoked for mousemove and it works fine for all elements except for elements which are disabled, I am getting "Object doesn't support this property or method" error.

I'm using jquery to pass trough data to another page where I want to insert and delete a record. But the problem is that jquery only inserts or deletes the records and not both together. I use following code:

I have a button which creates a clone of the current row. Within each row is a drop down box for which the users can select red or yellow, which represent soccer cards. Based on that selection it calls a function which populates a div tag with the appropriate drop down options for that card color. The problem I am having is that the function is updating all div tags with the drop down selections and not the one for my current row. Please note that the drop down selection box is not guaranteed to be the last row in the table. The referee could go back and realize, that he or she made a mistake and make a change to the second row. So I need this to always be applicable to the current row of editing.

I found this post: [URL] It explains exactly what I want to do. The person who had the problem seemed to have sorted it out but as my knowledge is not to great I am not to sure what he is getting at. I tried various things but to no avail. All I want to do is return data to a calling javascript using type get and datatype jsonp. If I simply Response.Write "[(""id"": ""123""}]" then nothing happens. So whatever the thread I revered to above is doing it seems to be going in the right direction.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an application that is using Classic ASP, SQL server and cookies. But unless the user goes all the way through the application and the details are removed, they stay in the database.
How can I detect when they close the browser or move away to another web url. I have several pages in my app, so I dont want any unload event firing when I change pages.
Only when I move to another website completely or close the browser.
All the code I've seen on the net so far will fire if i change url's. Oh and I need to be able to access the Session's data in order to remove it from the database.
I use datepicker UI. Is it possible to be selected multiple events, dates taken from a mysql with PHP?

Now when I click one of those links (href1, href2, href3) generated, the click event won't execute! What's the problem? Also, is it right that I have to transfer the valueOfElement over, like I did? What does stopEventPropagation do? Prevent the href from being navigated to? That's what I am trying to do.

I've been working on my first AJAX application and have run into a snag: I can correctly generate a select object using a PHP script that accesses my database. If I visit test.php with a valid query, it displays a page with nothing but the select object I want, formatted correctly.The problem comes when I try to replace my existing select object with this new one. It doesn't seem to work. The function that is supposed to access the select object's innerHTML and replace it with the responseText from my AJAX function doesn't remove the old select object.

I'm beginner in jQuery and trying to write "add/remove div object" script.
I found on web some examples how to do it but... there's two problems.
Firstly I want to add some DIV when user choose any value from select list html object and absolutely don't know how to do it...
Secondly - every new DIV object created by select list from html must have (inside of this div) something like "remove me link" which of course should deleted this DIV from page.
