Here is the page I'm working on: [URL].. As you will see there are only two pictures on there now. I want the left table cell to have an up arrow and a down arrow below those pictures where the user can scroll (down and up) and see other pictures, which when clicked on will show a larger image to the right. It's setup now as you will see for the larger image to appear to the right. It's just not setup for this scroll function where the user can click on an up arrow or down arrow to make the users see the other pictures in the table cell. Also this section should not have a scrollbar show up when the pictures are being scrolled down to see. I'm not sure on how to proceed with this.
The link is here [URL] Click on description. Move the scroll bar on the right to the bottom and then click on description again. Instead of the thumbnails scrolling up to hide the description, the main image and header move down. Any tips on addressing this. My brains are a bit frazzled at the moment. Do I need to fix the vertical scroll position somehow. What properties do I need to be looking at? (Note : I'm currently animating the height property of the description box.) Second question. I did have auto margins in the wrapper centering the page. When you click on description it causes the scrollbar on the right to appear, which shifts the page over to the left. I've since fixed the margin, but again is there a way around this so that I can center the page again?
I am trying to include Dock MAC style Menu in my page which is floating.Here I am facing a problem is, when we hover on menu icon, without scrolling page at bottom, the menu iconsare not getting bigger in size, as it should be.And when you reached at bottom, moving scrollbar down, those icon gets bigger when we hoverI have placed the script just before the end of body tag. I also tried placing the code in starting of body tag, then the reverse thing happen. The icon gets bigger without moving scrollbar down and when we move to bottom, or scroll, the effects lost.
I am interested in creating a footer that always shows on the page even when the user has to scroll down to see the rest of the page. It should be sort like an iframe, but I am interested in a achieving this using a DIV element instead. I am not sure how this kind of effect is called and created.
I made this webpage. It runs with a simple javascript function that changes the content in the window when you click on the menu buttons. the only problem is there are no vertical scroll bars when viewed in any browser. There seems to be a place for them but no actual scroll bar. I tried modifying the color and such with cs but it didn't change anything.
The site: [url]
Here is all the code starting with the html, then the css, and the two javascript pages
using window.open to open a popup, the "scrollbars=1" thing is not working in IE8 for some reason (the window opens, its just that the scroll bar that isn't showing).
I've added a scroll script to my site which changes the scroll to just a black box in a grey rectangle. When the page is visited it doesn't show but once you either refresh or navigate through the pages it appears. I'm pretty much clueless about js so don't even know where to start with fixing this. Here's a link [URL]. I would post code but once again, not sure which part I'm dealing with so not sure what to post. If you need code let me know and I will provide it.
I have 2 things going on here. One, the 'percent' variable is constantly showing up as NaN (not a number) no matter what numbers I give it. I suspect it is happening because the function is populating all the fields at one, which causes a 'divide by zero' scenario for the percentage field, which is last in line. Which brings me to my send thing. How to write this function correctly, as it obviously is causing problems as is, and it seems clunky. I think it should broken up into a couple different functions, but I tried that and NOTHING worked.
Here is the code, let me kow what you think: function calculate(){ var contractsAdded = document.forms[0].contractsAdded.value; var priceAdded = document.forms[0].priceAdded.value; var contractsSold = document.forms[0].contractsSold.value; var priceSold = document.forms[0].priceSold.value; var totalAdded = (contractsAdded * priceAdded) * 100; var totalSold = (contractsSold * priceSold) * 100; var gainLoss = totalSold - totalAdded; var percent = gainLoss / totalAdded;
I have a home grown lightbox effect as my client cannot have community code such as JQuery, mootools etc running on their site (don't ask me....). All is working fine, the background darken mask with the box itself with the content. The only problem I'm having is what happens when the user scrolls.
As the mask is calculated upon clicking a link to display the lightbox, the method calculates the current screen area and uses that to create the height and width of the mask. But obviously if you scroll, you leave the mask behindat the top of the screen covering the calculated area. Is there a way to access the onscroll event to say rerun the specific function that calculates the mask area when the user scrolls so the mask stays constantly covering the available screen area? I suppose this is similar to those scripts where a div remains in view when the user scrolls - presumably something along those lines?
I found and tried a script to do with captured delta movement of the mousewheel but that disconnect the mouse wheel from the scrolling of the scroll bar and associated it only with the script in hand - I would like the browser to still scroll and my function to be fired on each scroll event.
I need to have a function run only once when the user scrolls. My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to get .scroll to only check for that first scroll. I have come up with a working solution using a count, but I am hoping there is a better way to do it. I assume that it checking for a scroll constantly is just a waste of resources. My solution doesn't fix that problem, it only makes sure the function runs once.
I have a simple form that inserts a name into a database. The functionality works fine. But the message that is suppose to show is wrong.
Code JavaScript: $(document).ready(function () { $('#nameForm').submit(function () { $('.msgbox').hide(); $.post('ajax.Register.php', {name: $('#name').val()}, function (data) { if (data) { $('.msgbox').show('fast', function () { $(this).html('OK!'); }); }else { $('.msgbox').show('fast', function () { $(this).html('Failed!'); }); }}); return false; }); });
The form always shows "Failed!" even though the name went through in my database. Code PHP: try { $objUser = new PDO("mysql:dbname=ajax;host=localhost", "root", ""); } catch (PDOException $e) { echo 'Unable to connect'; } $strName = $_POST['name']; if (empty($strName)) return false;
$strQuery = "INSERT INTO name (name) VALUES (:name)"; $objStatement = $objUser->prepare($strQuery); $objStatement->bindParam(':name', $strName, PDO::PARAM_STR); if ($objStatement->execute()) return true; return false;
i have 1 div with scrollbars and another div with a table inside. when user scroll horizontal bar in div1 i want application to scroll the table header from the same amount of pixels and in the same direction. i did not find anything under jQuery about that.. :-(
1. how can i detect in which direction the scroll is done (to the right, or to the left) ? 2. how can i determine how many pixels this scrolling is about ? 3. how to scroll the table header (table tag or th tag) from the same amount of point ?
i found just scrollLeft for now and i'm not successful to use it
how to make an image/text to scroll as the user scroll the page also? for example if the user scrolls down image/text also scrolls down and when the user scrolls up image/text also scrolls up..
Ok so I have a site that I want to automatically close the window when the focus is lost from the page. For example, if the user clicks off the page to something else on there desktop I want the page to close. So far I have managed to do this but the grids on my page and the scroll bars all trigger the close function when clicked on. Is there anyway to make the scroll bars and drop down boxes not trigger the function?
i used setTimeout() function in my image gallery to scroll images , i used setTimeout("myfunction()",1) in my script. Now my image gallery is working properly but problem is that the speed of scrolling images if normal in firefox, but in internet explorer it is slow, and in google chrome it is very fast , Sir how to resolve this problem
I have been creating a drop down menu system using fireworks MX and the javascript it creates. On a PC browser, it's fine. On a mac browser (IE5) the scrollbars want to scroll right across the page and right down when there is nothing else to view. Obviously this doesn't look too pretty! And i'm sure it's got something to do with the .js.
Has anyone else come across this or maybe know of a fix?
ok I created a javascript which opens up a new window and leads to a new page. now in the old browser version there is no scrollbar! alotugh I added scrollbar="yes". what can I do?

Is there some possibility with php to put the horizontal scroll bar of the web brwser into the center if the "width" of web page are bigger then the "width" of the web browser screen?So I don't need to scroll to right if I open the page, but the horizontal scroll bar will be positioned in the center.That code should do the same think like I when I take the scroll bar and put it in the center position, but this should be happen when I load the page automatically.

Id like to control scrolling of two divs with one scrollbar as in this example here
[URL]
At the same time i want to customize the scrollbar. Ive been using Flexcroll which work fine on a single div. But as soon as i insert flexcroll.js to head of document in the example, the sync of the two divs breaks and only the div with Flexcroll attached scrolls.
Anyone know how to solve this? You can find the code im using in the example or i can post.I dont have to use Flexcroll, so if you know of any other application that can customize scrollbar and control scroll on two divs at the same time.
I am trying to make a webpage and there is something that I want on it, however, I have no idea how to get it. I want a scrollbar that has jpegs. I want a person to be able to scroll through thumbnails (in the scrollbar) and click on it and be brought to the link. Does anyone know of a script that I can get that will do that? I know nothing about writing scripts.
