Script Only Works After Page Refreshed / Resolve This?
Nov 15, 2011I am very new to javascript so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I made this page by pecing scripts together that I found online. I don't even know if this is the best way to get my desired results. I want the background to fill up the entire window, as well as the text and link to remain on the bottom in their respective corners and also re-size with the window. The code doesn't work the first time the page is loaded, but it works fine after it is refreshed. Do y'all have any suggestions on how to fix this.

Feb 18, 2011I have a section at the bottom of one of my pages that gets data that can be further filtered by weeks. Users can click on any of the weeks to see the data that applies only to that week. This works just fine, but when the function finishes and replaces the html content of the div, the page jumps to the top so that the user has to scroll back down to see the results. I'd like to avoid that. [code]...
It's nothing terribly complicated. The 'weekSelection' links are disabled until a stakeholder is chosen, then they're good to go. The weird bit at the url variable is just some ASP.NET MVC stuff.The StakeholderForecasting div gets its contents replaced and all will be good as soon as I can maintain the page's position.

the correct code ( <a id....></a> ) is appended in body (checked with firefox and chrome js console), but the css style associated to it is not applied at all... it's not even shown as a link...
moreover, the alert method returns 0, so I cannot even search by its id or class...
I used the .clone() method because chrome shows an error without it.
JQuery :: Getting Some Lag When Applying E.preventDefault();

I noticed when I click one of these links, there is an ever so slight lag on all browsers. Maybe less than half a second, but it'snoticeable.
Now, when I remove e.preventDefault() and use return false instead, everything runs a lot smoother.

It basic but works fine as is.I would like to apply the random function to change the background image of a <div>. The div already has an id with css properties attached. Is there away to apply the function using a class? I have tried changing the 'var eles=document.getElementsByTagName('*')||document.all;' section but it stops working. Code below.

Running into an issue where I stream back HTML from a servlet that is to be rendered on a page that is already rendered (using jquery async callbacks). When the HTML prints to the page into the div's specified, the css styles used in the streamed html are not showing. For example, I have the header shaded blue with white bold text via a classname in CSS.

JQuery :: Keep UI From Applying Styles To Elements
Dec 10, 2010I am very new to jQueryUI and had a question about 1 small thing that has been bugging and throwing me off. Let's say for example, we are creating a dialogue box, triggered to open on the click of a <button>. Once applied, the <button> takes classes such as ui-button, etc, which may end up altering what you want that particular button to look like.
Is there any way to stop jQueryUI from applying this set of classes to the button itself? I have tried using removeClass to strip these, but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all. The styles in my default themeroller theme have been good for everything else, except these small things I don't want altered by the jquery classes. I the model form example, I removed button() from the js and it didn't apply any new styles to the button.

That code happens within a loop, and sub_menu_id has a different value through each iteration of the loop. For example, if it loops 4 times, then there will be 4 onclick functions and sub_menu_id would change for each one. This should happen in theory, but instead, whichever item you click on, sub_menu_id takes the value of its last value in the loop. (4 in this example)
My question is, how do I make the function toggleSubMenu take the value of sub_menu_id at the time the on click function is created (i.e while looping) rather than taking the value of sub_menu_id when it is actually clicked.

Applying Only One Table In A Html File?

However, the problem I have is that it applies to every table on my page, I only want it to apply to a specific table in the html file (I'm using frontpage), not all of them How would I go about doing this? The code is below, it has a bit of styling at the top before the javascript.

Applying A Filter To Assigned Divs?
Feb 23, 2009I'm a bit of a newbie with javascript and have been somewhat thrown in at the deep end at work. I have been asked to add a filtered list to an index that current exists on a page. I found a suitable code (quoted below) but it seems to conflict with the existing code. As far as I can work out, it is because of the line "arr_nodes = document.getElementsByTagName('div')" which, using my very basic knowledge, appears to affect all existing <div>s in the page, not just the ones I've quoted below.
Basically, Is there any way to make that line ignore all the divs that were originally in the code & just refer to the divs called "text1", "text2", "text3", "text4", "text5", "text6" and "text7"?

I've tried a few different ways of accomplishing this, none of which have worked so far. The most recent is posted below.

Everything is working fine but now I want to apply some styles, animation effects (fade in/fade out) etc. to elements inside every template row. My problem is that the template rows are getting generated on the fly and I do not know their IDs to access them. What should I do? How can I apply styles and effects to them?
