I am trying to stop a preloaded images used in a rollover. The images are linked to a tab navigation system, that open on the same page.

when the image is clicked with the mouse, function func1 is invoked as expected. When I call function changeFunction, I want to change the code that is invoked when the image is clicked from func1 to func2. Instead, both are invoked because addEventListener and attachEvent add an additional handler instead of setting one.
I am looking for a way to change the handler from one function to another. Can anyone think of a solution probably using removeEventListener?
I'm really just playing around, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible, meaning that I didn't want to just do the standard on mouseover/onmouseout event actions inline in my html. My attempt was relatively close, I just need a way to be able to capture the event action without passing it into a function?

I've set up a few images to change onlick using the following code (I have the alternate images saved as jpgs in the img/ directory). There are two problems I'm having the first baffles me, after clicking one image and changing it the other images take 2 clicks before changing. The other problem is more of a curiosity, I plan to have these images work as a sort of check box for a sql database query and I'm not entirely sure my current way of doing it will allow for that.

I have an image set to the background, this method is working for fire fox, here is how i got a background image.

When someone clicks on these thumbnails it changes the backround image's source to the bigger version. It doesn't work in IE though and i am confused why. I have tried preloading the image, but I feel as though my Javascript is being ignored.
My problem is i do not know the syntax for changing the button image when on click meaning when i click on a imagefield button it will change to another imagefield button and when i click again it will change back.I know that we have to create a function something like this?I am not sure of the syntax but will learn from you expertX - what to put in here?

I have navigation buttons that I'll call primary buttons. I also have secondary navigation buttons that I'll call secondary buttons. If you rollover a primary navigation button, it should make secondary navigation buttons 1,4,and 5 go to rollover state A. However, if you rollover secondary navigation button 1,4 or 5 they should go to rollover state B.So the simplest way I can explain it is that the secondary navigation buttons need two rollover states possible.

Background image was part of the page loaded, as well as the text and what not. The problem was, the image took too long to load. I've been learning how to do javascript and I came across some code for preloading an image before the mouseover so there was zero wait time. For the past few days I've been trying to figure out how to have the preload image appear BENEATH the iframe (now with no background image or color) with the allowtransparency attribute set to true.
I've figured out the code to do both individually, i.e. I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the new image will appear; AND I have the code so that when the link is moused over, the page with load into the iframe. Both work, both do what is expected, but they don't do it together.Below is the script. Here's where it's confusing. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." first inside the if statement: the page loads into the iframe, but there is no image. If I have the "setupImgRollover..." after the "document.link..." commands in the if statement: the image appears but the page does not load into the iframe.

I can't seem to add an onclick event to an image. I'm sure I am doing something wrong as I am very new to Javascript.

The image that is displayed is not clickable, and therefore the function redClick cannot be called.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a page displaying a portfolio of logos, print pubs, websites, etc. When the page originally loads, all items are included in the slideshow. I would like only logo images displaying when the user places the mouse on the logos link.

The jQuery call below works (i.e. the range of the images is limited to only those with class logos) if the menu link to "logos" gets a mouseenter event while the slideshow is showing one of the logo images (class="logos"). However, if the slideshow has progressed to one of the other sections (class="print", web, sign, etc) then the slideshow will not resume.
Below is the jQuery call when a user places their cursor on the logos menu link.

I have an image that already has an onClick event (a simple window.print(); command). I am trying to figure out how I can add another function to this onClick so when a user clicks this button not only will the print window appear but another js function will also fire off. How do I accomplish this? Unfortunately I am not able to simply manually add the function to the onClick so is there a way to listen for all "window.print();" events and send a second event (my js function) at that time?

However, as you'll notice, the alert box shows up on the first click as well. The only way I have been able to get around this behaviour is to have the first onclick execute a timer that will then set the document.onclick after 1ms, however this seems very messy to me.
For the first time in a long time, I've encountered a project with a single image that has many regions.Each region is a polygon, and will bind to a unique rollover event. That rollover event will pull back data for each region.I've thought of using a hidden image in a canvas with a black background, and a different color foreground for each region. Then, mapping the color the proper region data on the backend.I've thought of passing a huge Javascript object with keys that relate to a position in the image, and values that define the region data.Initially, I dismissed the idea of a good, old-fashioned image map, in an attempt to find something sleeker and sexier. But perhaps this is the best solution?

I understand Im not really supposed to be using inline JS, and I know Ive got to create a function for the onmousedown event to trigger changing the H1 text, so am I under the right impression that the JS so far written is redundant and will have to be re-written so thats contained within a script placed just before the closing </body> and an external script for invoking the main function ?
I have a two navigations areas; top and side. I need when someone rollovers the top button it'll change image and also change the button on the right left menu.
So summing up it's 4 images. Two normal states and two rollover states. When you rollover one, both need to change to the rollover state.
currently on our site we have and expanding <div> that responds to both the onmouseover and onmouseout events. It works wonderfully.
The UX people now would like the expanding <div> to open with the onclick event and then as soon as the mouse leaves the expanded div, it would close. I have tried using the onmouseout event in conjunction the onclick event but it does not work (the div persists).
Instead of doing a regular rollover which would require me to make 50 images with text in photoshop on I want the rollover but want to add the the text in html for exmaple I want something like this [URL]
