Below is the code for a Facebook "Like" button. When I click the Like button, I would like it to show some html code below.

I'm looking for a javascript/css code that can do the following, for a click button:
- When mouse is not over the click-button, a text should be displayed at the right of the button, in a bordered textbox - 85% transparency (hardly visible)
(- when mouse hovers over the button, the button image changes to a different one <- I know how to do this)
- When the button is clicked the text shows up normaly (0% transparency)
- When clicking again the button OR anywhere else on the page, the text goes back to 85% transparency.
I'm new to DOM and javascripting and have constructed a hide/show menu. I can't find a way to keep IE6 from revealing all the sub-lists onload. The code (inspired by PPK and Jeremy Keith's recent books) follows:
window.onload = function () {
var topnav = document.getElementById ("navmain");
var parent = document.getElementsByTagName("ul");
for (var i=0;i<parent.length;i++) {
if (parent[i].className != "section") continue;
parent[i].style.display = "none";
var header = parent[i].previousSibling;
if (header.nodeType != 1)
header = header.previousSibling;
header.relatedTag = parent[i];
header.onclick = openClose;
}
}
function openClose () {
var currentValue = this.relatedTag.style.display;
var newValue = (currentValue == "none") ? "block" : "none";
this.relatedTag.style.display = newValue;
}
Markup:
<div id="navmain" class="clearfix">
<ul><li><h4>Markets</h4>
<ul class="section">
<li><a href="/corporate/">Corporate</a></li>
<li><a href="/govt/">Govt/Agency</a></li>
<li><a href="/municipal/">Municipal</a></li>
<li><a href="/mbsabs/">MBS/ABS/CDO</a></li>
<li><a href="/funding/">Funding</a></li>
</ul>
</li></ul>
</div>
Hoping for some simple solution, but all advice is welcome.
I want to change the content of different div's using .html(). The change should be done by clicking on the inner element of the container. The content of the clicked container should be changed with the first container. My problem is, that the following code does the change, but only once. After every div has changed one time, no more reaction is shown.
<script type="text/javascript">
I am having trouble with the following code. Right now the user clicks the button and it shows all of the blogs from the blog array. However I want it to just reveal 2 then two more and two more and so on as the user clicks button. I have tried multiple things but can't seem to get it right. Most of the things i try either reveal the entire blog on start or when the user clicks hides all of them.

I need to implement a pretty basic javascript functionality in my site, but have never used it and wonder if there is a script available or if someone can give me the basics.
I have a nav bar at the top of the page with four links, and then divs for each of the links. The link you click on displays the associated div and hides the rest of them. Pretty simple, right?
I'ld like to insert a feature seen in www.k10k.net and www.rangermag.com whereby once a link is clicked it instantly reveals a hidden layer - seems a great way of quick navigation of info.

I was just wondering if there is a JavaScript tutorial online that shows you how to do similar hover effect to what Twitter does with the trending topics. Such as Inception. When you hover over it and a black bubble appears. Also I'm not sure what it is called.

This script works fine everywhere else (or it did before I tweeked it a bit to get it to work on this one page; an easy thing to do), however, on this one page, it shows the content, but messes up the layout.

I am trying to create a basic menu where if you put your mouse over a button you get a bit of descriptive text or an image appearing somewhere else on the page. I have tried to do this with hiding/revealing hidden divs - works fine with IE but no others.

Is there a way onclick to load external html into a DIV tag, but without iFrame usage?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using some click events on normal <a> tags. When I rewrite the links within a html() method call, the click events no longer work. I've set up a very simple example here:When the page is loaded, clicking either of the 'link 2' links displays the correct information.When 'link 1' is then clicked, the main information is redisplayed. However, now, the 'link 2' link in the main paragraph doesn't work, although the 'link 2' link in the menu does.

Trying to make code that adds a hover event to all html elements within a certain container. On hover the element should be outlined by adding/removiing a css class. Thats the first thing and I can't get that to work with the code below.
The second part is to keep the element outlined when its clicked, and also when selecting multiple elements by (ctrl+click).
Have searched for a outline plugin, but came up with nothing.
still have a problem with the following code:
<ul>
<li><a class="open-page" href="/somewhere.html">link1</a></li>
<li><a class="open-page" href="/elsewhere.html">link2</a></li>
</ul>

i also tried to use .live() - nothing. the links where opened by thecommon way browser handle this anchors - follow the link ;)
how to handle these added elements?
I currently have a div and am using jquery for ajax stuff. The give is named app_content. I have a navigation menu full of input images. When a user clicks on any of these images it would inject html code in the app_content div which is where the html will be displayed.
Now the problem is that when I inject the html code I also inject javascript/jquery code. I make some more input images to be injected into this app_content div. One image is a button called new post. What I am trying to do is another ajax call to a php script to again inject the html code into app_content div. So like the new post I want to inject a form into app_content. The problem is that when you click on the image it does nothing.
The navigation menu is a different div it's app_nav div. Those images are input images and work find where once clicked it injects html code using jquery ajax to the div app_content. So when the html and also jquery code is injected into this div I have another input image inside this div and want to do the same thing when a user clicks this image which is a input image then it will run a function that uses jquery to use ajax to grab html from a .php file and then inject it in the same div meaning app_content div.
Is this possible?
To Sum up what I am trying to do is have jquery ajax inject html/jquery code in a div and the injected code would have another jquery ajax code where it would do another injection when clicked to the same div it's in.
