Code: tr><td><div id="ref">hh</div></td><td>edit button</td> what I want to achieve is that when a user clicks on edit button, first of all hh should be replaced by a text input field and edit button change to update
What I want to do is replace a form with the submitted content. As an example, The form is submitted using the jquery.form plugin. The content is saved to the DB and a rendered comment is passed back to the client, and the success callback then replaces the form with the content. Simple enough. However, if server-side validation fails, I want to render the form, along with validation error messages, and insert that back into the client page, i.e. replace the first form with the second (which also contains the submitted content). Also straightforward, except that, on a truly successful submission, I'll need to do some other things on the page. If validation fails I only need to display the form with errors. I can think of two approaches. One is to search the returned data for some string (e.g., "<form") to decide if the other tasks are to be run.
The other is to send back the data encapsulated in a JSON object, eg: { 'status': 'FAIL', 'data': '<form ...' messages: '...' }
I have previously developed two scripts, both of which work really well, however I want to amalgimate them together if possible? My first script loads the content specified into a single div, replacing the content depending on which function is called, it also displays a loading gif during a timeout of 2 seconds. Here is the page:
I have content in hidden (invisible) DIV elements on a page that I want to load into another DIV element on same page. I need to replace content currently in a DIV with that coming from another DIV. DIV ontent could be a P element or a P and IMG element.
I am working on a page, which has menus on the left side in one div, that, when clicked should display a proper content on the right side, in another div. Since the content is rather long I have it in a separate file, so I am trying to come up with a function that will replace the right div contect with that external file content. I believe the function i should use looks something like this:
function ReplaceDiv( DivId, NewData ) { var data_div = document.getElementById( DivId); if( data_div ) { data_div.innerHTML = NewData; } }
I tried to use this in my page as following: <a href="" onclick="ReplaceDiv(MyDiv, NewDataFile.php )">Menu Item #1</a> But it does not do what I need it to do. The menu link disappears and the right div content stays the same
I have a string content which include the content "[some number]". I wanted to replace the inner number which is inside the square bracket with jQuery regular expressions. the number inside the brackets are always variables.
I'm using ColorBox to open a simple popup and it works fine. In the same page I have a link which sends an ajax request which return the entire <body> content that I then use to replace the body of the current page. After I do this replacement, the colorbox does not open anymore. I got no JS errors.
I have an OL with several LI elements. When each LI is clicked their html is replaced with a full form (multiple input types, submit button, etc). This form information is being populated from a php page using ajax.
The problem I'm running into is each time I click a form input jQuery thinks I'm clicking the LI element, which causes the ajax to fire, refreshing the form info. Essentially making it behave as if I had just lost focus.
I am trying to use "replace" to remove dollar signs and commas from input values by looping through the elements. I'm pretty sure I have to use an array in an array to do so but can't figure it out. Here's what I have:
I have a form which check boxes. The last check box is labeled "other". What I want is that when the user clicks other my text field contained in my hidden "details" div will be displayed so they can specify "other".
Here is the JS code I have in the head of my page: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"><!-- function RemoveContent(d) { document.getElementById(d).style.display = "none"; }function InsertContent(d) { document.getElementById(d).style.display = ""; } //--></script>
Here is the code on the "other" check box: <label class="checks"> <input type="checkbox" name="Other" id="other" onselect="PresentForm ('details');" /> Other</label>
And the code for the details div: <div id="details" class="checks"> <label > <input type="text" name"details" size="30" />Please Explain</label> </div>
Here is the CSS for the details text field: #details { padding-left:20px; display:none; }
I have a website where i sell items. I need to make it so a customer can go to the site and place a password to purchase a item. Customers sees a item and clicks on "buy now" It can not be a inconvenience where it will prompt for a user/password.
I would like to place a password box, and once a password is entered they will be able to select the "buy now" button. Simple...yes. But i search for 3 hours via the power of google and have yet to find a solution. I want everything to stay on the same page...if possible.
I have seen places like wordpress and joombla do password protect content but i guess it is because the use frames. I would like to do this with just JS and HTML.
I'm working on a form that I can add additional fields to dynamically (select fields and text input fields). I do so by clicking a button, which calls a javascript function, which in turn adds elements to the DOM. However, only the hardcoded (non-javascript created) fields are being POSTed. I assume this might have to do with the fact that the form uses tables to lay the fields out. The basic structure is similar to below:
How do I create dynamic forms like below where you can Add and Remove content. [URL]. I currently have a classic ASP form and was wondering if I can do this with Javascript so I can extend the form with new content or remove it with a simple click.
i use a from in wordpress (tdo miniform) and in this form i copy the content of a field into another but when i remove the »check box is clicked«-thing it won't.i have manually trigger an event - can i do it automaticly?
I have a text field for a user to enter a URL. When I call the form data with PHP I'm adding the http:// into the link like this: <a href="http://' . $url . '">I'm wondering if javascript check to see if the user has entered the http:// and if so, remove it.
- I have a page with a form inside. When the user submits the form, I would like to have a hidden variable in that form that contains the entire page content as it was when the 'submit' button was clicked (including the HTML, not only the form values). (The reason I want to do this is that I want to save every 'form submission' to a database on the server side.)
I read about the innerHTML, but it looks like its not portable across browsers.
I suspect the solution would be using somekind of javascript, by iterating through the DOM elements of the document and so on, but I'm not sure..
I want to add a button or text link next to this field which if clicked on goes to the google maps url querying that postcode
i.e. if the postcode text in the field (form not submitted) was SW1A 1AA then without submitting that form there would be a button / link next to it which when clicked on went to [URL]
I am using an iframe in my page to submit a form to so that it can upload a file - since you can't do this through the jquery ajax function. I have everything working, but I want to be able to hide the iframe and get the content of it, and put just the content inside of it into another div on the page. I have tried alot of things, but I think this one was probably closest: $("#myframe")[0].contentDocument; This ended up getting me a value type of "Object HTMLDocument", I just can't figure out how to get the content as a string so that I can put it into the div I want.
I have a script which gathers information from a form and, if needed, writes this info to a 'preview' window. At times {tokens} are used in place of real html tags. How can I tell the script to look for "{" and "}" and replace them, respectively, with "<" and ">".
I tried using "str = str.replace(/{/g, "<").replace(/}/g, ">");" but that didn't work. The script in question is being written by PHP... thus, may be generating a syntax-based failure. Any ideas?
What I want, is the code to look for a particular ID of an img, and then change the filename (but not the whole path) of the image.
For instance... if the path was "../images/headin.gif", the javascript would find this by the ID, and change to "headin" to "headdown".
I know I can do something like... if(a.getAttribute("img").indexOf("headin")) {
but then I need to know how to replace "headin" with "headdown".
How can this be done?
(the reason I don't want to replace the whole src, as that would be very simple, is that the path of the image will change depending on the directory the page is in)
I'm trying to get my head around DOM and it's usefulness in designing web applications. Some of it is pretty straight forward, while some is kind of vague. What I am trying to do now is write data to a page. I want to fill in the data in the second span below.
var posSize = document.createTextNode(Ǝ'); parent.document.getElementById('size').appendChild(posSize);
But as the name suggests, it appends it to the current value. So every time I click something on the page and the value needs to reflect that item, it just appends it to the former value.
