I have an issue with my div visibility toggling

and I do the return false to stop the thing from jumping all over the place, but where i click next, the page scrolls down to center on that point, which is really annoying. How do I stop it?
I have absolutely positioned left-aligned elements that I'm attempting to center with javascript.The page briefly shifts to the left when the page is loaded before it centers the page.(I realize that this goal could be achieved with CSS alone but I am hoping for a cure for this javascript solution for now.)The javascript that I'm using is common.js, the onload command is positionPage(); and the div is DivLayout.I don't know if I need to adjust the div, javascript or both.how I can correct the shifting issue?Here is the link to view my issue: http:/tiny.cc/test176

I managed to smooth out the animations on this page here. However, I'm unsure on how to get the Javascript script (here) to center the first page as well. You'll notice when you click on the main menu items, the script will center the elements on the page, just not at the start.

I'm creating a Dreamweaver CSS site based off a template I purchased.In this site,I want to have page with a gallery of my company's products.So I went to http://smoothgallery.jondesign.net/, used the "Gallery Set" setup, and put it into my web page.It all works GREAT...except the gallery is left-aligned and I want it centered on my page.I'm not all that familiar with css or javascript, and nothing I'm doing is getting my gallery to center.

I have code (below) that displays a dialog, but I can't figure out how to make sure the dialog is centered on the page when the dialog displays as the user scrolls down the page. The dialog is displayed from a click on a href tag. I thought I could get the x,y coordinates where the href was click, but can't figure out how to center since the href can be at either the upper or low end of the page when it shown.

I'm designing a web page, Having a banner on top, then a search option following it.There is a menu item list below it on to the left.And the content of the links of those menu item should get loaded in the center of the page.And a footer having some copyright info.All these are in div tags. The problem is when i click on any menu item it should be loaded in the center div tag.Ive tried using Iframes but there is a scrollbar coming only in that area of center div tag.I don't wan't this to happen.Based on the size of the html page to be loaded the div tag size should increase, and so the whole page.Have tried using Ajax but not working.

In the iframe I have DIV element with a picture/or another element in it. I need to center the DIV element in the iframe, the DIV in the end should be in the center of the iframe(client area), this iframe can be resize, so every time the iframe is resize I need to center the DIV according to the new client area. How I can get the client area and center the DIV? I'm guessing that I will need also the size of the element(picture) to center it, right?
Im having a bit of an issue with a website im building for a band. The band want a site that is 2500 width so that when the page loads you can either scroll roght or left to view the out of screen material...

So it took me forever but I finally found a floating menu that works with a horizontally scrolling page - but of course, there's still a little bug. View the page here: [URL]
As you can see, the more you scroll right, the more the menu "compacts" itself, eventually disappearing altogether.

I've designed a web page that uses several DIVs that use absolute positioning so they can layer on top of each other with transparent shadows. You can view the design here:http:[url]...The client wanted the whole design to center in the window horizontally, and since I can't use margin: 0 auto; to achieve this, I'm using a script that detects the window size using the onLoad operator in the body tag. It works, but I don't like that the page snaps back to the left every time a new page loads. Is there a way for the script to detect the window size from the previous page so that the design won't jump if the window hasn't been resized?
I'm building a site right now that has a left column navigation and the navigation is nested inside a div, which is nested inside a table cell (i.e., <td>). I'm using JQuery to make it so when the user scrolls down the page, the div slides down smoothly and always stays at the top of the page. I have this working just fine, but when I change resolutions (i.e., 1024x768), the div scrolls over the bottom of the page, which is what I don't want. How can I calculate in order for the div to know when it hast reached the bottom of the table cell? I tried using outerHeight to calculate the height of the table cell and then subtracting the height of the div from it, but I'm clearly doing it wrong because it's still not working. I have a website on a Shared Server at work that I'm trying to get an iFrame to view the contents of a lengthy .txt file and I need it to AUTOMATICALLY scroll to the BOTTOM of the .txt file when the webpage opens. I have a script that will scroll .htm files to the bottom but I can't get it to automatically Scroll a .txt file to the bottom (Best I've gotten is a button that you click which scrolls to the bottom) but I need it to Automatically do it when the page opens.
If it matters... My .txt file is actually a .LOG written in notepad with the 1st word ".LOG" which automatically inserts the Time & Date Each time the file is opened and it opens with the Cursor Automatically at the Bottom of the page.

I have 2000px width images that I want to be centered in a 100% width slideshow. I basically want my images to cover the entire width of the page, and also be centered.

I have a web application that requires scrolling vertically. The problem I am having is that when I click something that is on the lower potion of the page, it executes, but scrolls back to the top of the page. Is there something that will keep the page from scrolling when clicking something?

Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.
