No Tool Bars On Current Window
Aug 16, 2006
I can move and resize the current window.
I need a window that opens up with no Toolbars. I know how to achieve
this from another window via a link. But is there a method to reload
the current window with no tool bars.

Is it possible, to hide the menubars of a browser, if the window is already
opened? I want to post a html-form to a "_blank" target (new window). This
new window should have no Menubars.

cannot get a new (picture) window to open in Firefox without the title and address bars (or anything else, just the image). IE shows just the title bar, with or without the code:
function newWindow()
{window.open('./pageaddress.html','winname','top=20,left=20,directories=0,titlebar=0,toolbar=0,location=0,status=0,menubar=0,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,width=400,height=350');}
</script>
The window opens fine, but always shows the address and title bars. I have read the W3 Schools options list (and other posts) and tried both 'no' and '0' as values, without any success. What am I missing and is there any way to make this work - it didn't even work in the W3 Schools 'try it yourself' test page!
I have seen some very nice 'slowly-opening' windows (increasing in size)

Ok so I have a site that I want to automatically close the window when the focus is lost from the page. For example, if the user clicks off the page to something else on there desktop I want the page to close. So far I have managed to do this but the grids on my page and the scroll bars all trigger the close function when clicked on. Is there anyway to make the scroll bars and drop down boxes not trigger the function?
This is the code I have so far.

I'm trying to create two bookmarklets:
1. Take the current URL of the page and open a new window with a URL based on the current page. Some examples (I use "->" to mean "this URL turns into that URL"):I plan to use these bookmarklets in sequence, first pressing 1 to log into the CMS, then pressing 2 to edit the current page.

I have a page that contains 3 Iframes.
Left is navigation
Center is main content
Bottom is footer
How would I put together a link from the navigation that allows me to open a NEW Iframe over the existing Center region? I don't want to target the existing Iframe and load the link in that window. I want the existing Center Iframe to remain open and an additional Iframe to open with the new page.
The goal is so that the 2 Iframes are independent. They are both forms and I need them to be able to copy and paste into both forms at the same time without affecting each other.

Code:

I am looking for an option to resize a non fullscreen window into fullscreen mode.
JavaScript provides the well-known method "window.open(fullscreen=yes, ...)" to render fullscreen windows. However, I don't want to open a new window but rather want to resize a window ...in my case ones a user has clicked a button.

I have 30 or 40 different (going to different websites) links on many pages on my website, that I when clicked I need opening under the current window. (Pop-under) - but obviously needs to be done safely (no risk of being pop-up blocked??)So rather than just a target="_blank" - it would be something slightly more complicated, doing a bit of research perhaps the .blur method would help (Though really I have no idea)I'm using the jQuery library for other elements on the site, so jQuery would be ideal if there is a solution for this?If you click on "get code and open site" (Green button) - you'll see it opens up the website under the current window - which is exactly what I want to achieve (It also uses .toggle to switch divs (but i've done that part - just need help with pop-unders

When I reveal my hidden <div> using ...
Code:
I would also like to return the user's view to the beginning of said <div>.
Until now I have been using a page anchor, but that archetype is no longer a possibility for other reasons. In essence, I would still like to have the same functionality as calling an anchor via URL.
Is there not a dom property / that can be adjusted?

I have the following JS which puts a transparent blanket over the page and centralizes a <DIV> in the middle of the page. The problem I have is that sometimes the content of the page is quite long, and thus this popup <DIV> will get centralize against the content and not the current view port. The blanket only layers the transparent element on the viewable part of the screen/browser, so I am putting in a overflow: hidden style, so I need to ensure that the popup (and the transparency layer) is only on the current viewing window and not based on the content size (otherwise with the scrollbars taken away I will not be able to get to the popup.
So what I need is to display the transparency DIV and popup within the current viewing window, whether the user has scrolled half way down a page then it should show here - if that makes sense
My current JS is below...
Code JavaScript:

I'm looking at creating a list of links that when each one is clicked, opens a new window/tab under the current window, the reason for this is that i'm using jQuery .toggle to switch content upon click of a link to reveal a message. They have to read this message before going to the new window, which is why it must be opened below the current window (Hope all that makes sense!).
I've got the content switching part done, which is great, but having some trouble coding the "New Window opening under the current window"
Thw following code (When used with jQuery) opens up a new window under the current window (Yay!) - BUT - this happens on page load simply apply it to the links, and only apply it to link with a certain class e.g. class="newwindow"
Code:
$(document).ready(function() {
var link = $(this).attr('href');
var mer_window = window.open(link, '_blank', 'toolbar=1,location=1,directories=1,scrollbars=1,resizable=1,status=1,menubar=1');
if (typeof mer_window === "object")
[Code].....
