View 5 RepliesI have this js function:
<script type="text/javascript">
function updatesum() {
document.PaymentForm.newbalance.value = (document.PaymentForm.balance.value -0) - (document.PaymentForm.paymentamount.value -0);
}
</script>
I want to round the value of document.PaymentForm.newbalance.value to two decimal points.
I have an input in the form, where i have to do the following validations.
1) see if it is a number
2) allow digit grouping wither like 00,00,000(Asia format) or 000,000,000 (us format)
3) allow 2 decimal points 000,000.00
4) if the money does not conform to this format return false
Suppose I do (5 * 0.039) + 0.59, then the result is 0.7849999999999999 - but I want to round it upwards and should have only 3 digits after decimal point. I found out that using toFixed(3) will get it to be 0.785, but the problem is that it add x.x00 for some numbers where there aren't much decimal numbers. Is there a way I can remove the 0's?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to develop a form that can give an estimate to viewers based on their input and I'm having a problem with decimal points. I couldn't find a very good free script online so I've done some work with this one [URL] When you enter 10 in the input box, it calculate 10*19.99, giving 199.9, but I want it to show 199.90. I've tried adding toFixed(2) in there, but I'm not able to get that to work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of using the split function for splitting strings into an array. The problem I am dealing with is how to do this with local language. Not all languages us the space " " delimiter between words to write a phrase or sentence.
I have a list of all of delimiters for english, japanese, chinese, korean in Decimal Code Point format. For example, the decimal code point equivalent for " " is 32. Is it possible to use the javascript split function with decimal code points? If not, how can I reformat them into a format that js would understand?
Is there a JavaScript method to convert a "plain" number into a decimal one?
Say: 12345678 is converted to 12.345.678

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to use a result for furtherer calculations but only want the whole number and not the decimal portion. In Excel there is a function "=INT(A1)" this ignores the decimal values in cell "A1",
e.g. if cell "A1=5.345"
and I use the following function in cell "A2" "=INT(A1)*3" I get the result "15"
How do I do this in JavaScript ?
How do I separate the integer and decimal part of a number, ie. If I had
123456, and divided it by 1000 = 123.456,
how do I obtain 123 and 456 as seperate variables?
This is the sort of thing that is done using the "int" and "mod" function

Is there a built in function to format a number to 2 decimal places and to add commas like below.

I'd like the posted result to be a number with two decimals. I know how to make this normally but not with this kind of script.

I am needing some help with an error I'm getting from a project I'm working on. First off let me preface this all with the fact that I'm a total javascript noob. I'm really trying to understand what I'm doing wrong. So any help or advice is MORE than welcome. Here's what is happening. I found this code that will duplicate a row in a table and modifiy the name of a input in the row. Well for my purposes I have two different tables I need to work with. (each one idividually) So I changed the code a bit to make it accecpt a variable to use for the table name. (before it was static) and now I'm getting a error. Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" nsresult: "0x80004003 (NS_ERROR_INVALID_POINTER)" location: "JS frame :: http://www.tourandtravelnow.com/admin/scripts/faxPageScript.js :: addRow :: line 14" data: no] This is the old code that would work (only for one of the tables)

In my code (ASP.NET MVC using Nhibernate) , I do this :

Then I display the result in the DIV named "myFormDOFF" Of course, my .NET code can generate exception. I'd like when I receive an exception didn't change the content of "myFormDOFF" but display the message send by the exception in another DIV.
I am having trouble getting my expanding menu to work in Firefox and Opera. It works fine in IE though. I did not write the javascript myself, as I am fairly new to JS, but I did all the HTML and CSS. I used the error console on FF, and also used FireBug. They both returned the following error:

I have several classes named 'ratings_colored'. They all contain a number from 1 to 10. If the number is below 5.5, the number should become red. If not it should become green.
The code below works, but if the first .ratings_colored is higher than 5.5 it will make ALL the classes green. Even the numbers below 5.5! I tried using the 'this' but it didn't work either.
$(document).ready(function () {
I'd like to make a Degree object that inherits from the Number object and uses the Number constructor but adds a .rad() method that returns the value in radians.
If I do something like:
It generally works but I don't get Number's methods like toString and toPrecision.
I am trying to make a random number between 1 and 1,000. I have a code that seems to work correctly, but I don't completely understand it and after looking online I think it might be wrong. Code: var rnd = Math.floor(Math.random()*999)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form with about 15 input boxes. I need a function that will run onChange in each input box. This function has to check if a number is - or +. If it is -, I need it to throw out an error.
I need to get a piece of code that will allow me to have a user input a number, say 1-200 and that variable would make up the last part of an IP Address that the user wants to browse to.
192.168.0.[variable]
Is there a script that will allow me to do that?
I'm having to write a program that generates a random number between 1-1000 and then allows the user to make guesses in a text box, answering to high or to low, until the correct answer is entered. I had the program working fine with using strictly prompts and alerts but when I tried to create a form I started having trouble.

I have a background that is a shelf full of books, I wanted to figure out what I would need to do in order to make a random number of books pop out on mouse over (individually), and upon click have the book pulled out and be flipped through and read like a book. Would I have to recreate the library picture completely to make the random books moveable? And would I have to create the books that I want to move from the bookshelf?
how to pull the book out from the book shelf so that it looks like it's coming towards me and then to make it look like it has been pulled out. Would I need to use animation for this? What would be the parts to the animation required?
A little background on my knowledge of javascript: I understand the concepts of it and can understand it when I read it or its explained to me. I am looking to create something as simple as I can, I thought having a background and something basic like a few books be able to pop out. When I realized css couldn't do this and css3 wasn't supported by most browsers I turned to javascript and have been trying to figure out the steps I would need to do to do this specifically.
Is it possible to have an input that points to some other function?
For example:
function someFunction() {
alert('It worked.');
}function doAnotherFunction(doIt, otherFunction) {
if (doIt == true) {
otherFunction();
}}
<input type="button" value="test" onClick="doAnotherFunction(true, someFunction());">
Or would I need a switch statement and have all the various functions hardcoded?
I am not a developer so not so familiar with javascript. Suppose I have a map with ten junctions and based on that map. I need to calculate all the possible routes between one junction to another. How do I represent the map in javascript and how do I code the function to calculate all the possible routes?
