Js Redirect Using $_post Array?

Mar 24, 2010

Is there a way to use javascript to utilize the $_POST array instead of the $_GET array? I've got the following, which uses $_GET array, and I'd like to make it use $_POST instead:

location.href="webpage1.php?my_fieldname=" + (my_fieldvalue);

Store All Non-selected Option Values In A $_POST Array?

Oct 11, 2011

A <select> box is dynamically created based on a table in the database. Using jQuery, the user can then select multiple email addresses (the value of the options in the select box), and remove them from the select box completely. This leaves only the email addresses the user wants to include in the email.

The problem I've encountered is that the once the user is done removing options they don't wish to include, they have to then select all the remaining options before hitting submit in order for the mail processor to see them as addresses to include.I was thinking maybe instead of the submit button, I just create another button tied to a jQuery function that selects all the remaining values, and then submits the form for the user?

Automatically Redirect From Array Of URL's?

Feb 7, 2011

I was wondering how to write the following, using the redirect or replace: I want to make a sort of automated slideshow, only with web pages.

you would have an array of URL's (say 10). I have a main frame containing an iFrame, in which the URL's should appear, one after the other, with a delay of say 5 sec. so, it would instruct "redirect to this URL, wait 5 seconds, then redirect to the next in the array automatically, till the end of array.

Also, it would be cool if you could set the delay time specifically for each loaded URL...?

Right now, after 5 seconds, it redirects to google...

JQuery :: Use To Get Value From $_POST?

Aug 27, 2009

I thought this would be straightforward but i can't seem to find out or work out how to access a variable posted via a form on the previous page. I have the following line in some jQuery code:

Code:
$( '#ddlSelectBox > OPTION[value=8]' ).attr('selected', true);

I basically want to check for the value sent via $_POST, then use it to make sure a dropdown is populated with the posted value (in the code above, where "value=8", i need to replace the 8 with whatever value has been posted. I have LiveHTTP headers and can see the value i want being posted as job_id=whatever - i just don't know how to get it

PHP : Reselecting After $_POST?

May 28, 2011

I'm using the following PHP/Javascript code to create a drop down list. It's part of a longer group of code which dynamically changes a second drop down list based on what's chosen here. After the user submits their choice, I use PHP to grab relevant information, based on their choice, from my database. They're going to be going through the process several times and it would be great if I could reselect whatever they just posted. Might there be a way to reselect whatever they $_POSTed the first time? If I could have some guidance for this piece of the code,

PHP Code:

$q1=mysql_query("select  * from assignments_topics");
echo mysql_error();
$already_listed_chapters=array();[code]....

Passing Variables To Php Thru $_post??

Mar 18, 2007

At the moment I have this function, which passes variables to a php file with $_get

function savePath() {
//store title
pathTitle = 'pathTitle=' + document.getElementById("pathTitle").value;
//pathLength = getPathLength();
window.location.href = "save-path2.php?"+pathTitle;
}

but I need to use $_post

function savePath() {
//store title so we can use $_post
pathTitle = 'pathTitle=' + document.getElementById("pathTitle").value;

data = '<form action="save-path2.php" name="formData" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="pathTitle" value="'+pathTitle+'" />
</form>'
document.formData.submit();
}

How would i automaticly submit the form?

Ajax :: Upload Is Destroying My PHP $_POST?

Aug 26, 2009

I'm using a script I picked up from elsewhere that allows you to do uploading through AJAX (well, actually through an IFRAME,but lets not get into whether that's really AJAX ). Anyway, the script works great except for one little problem though.Sometimes when it submits the ajax form and gets to the server, my $_POST data is empty.The only correlation I've found is I believe it happens when the file I'm uploading is too big (though I'm not exactly sure what the cut off mark is). Regardless, small files aren't causing problems and large ones mean I have no $_POST data on the server when I get there. Here's the script I'm using:

Code:

/**
*
* AJAX IFRAME METHOD (AIM)[code]....

why this might destroy my POST data?

The secondary combo is contained and altered using divs and inner.HTML. Is this an expected behaviour or is my issue else where?

JQuery :: Submenu From Array - Function ToggleOptions Takes 3 Variables - Target - Array - State

Feb 15, 2011

I am trying to understand somecode. I don't think I am understanding everything correctly. Can someone confirm or add to my understanding?

Here is the code, below is my explanation:

- CODE 1 - is saying if the the class subnav_dd is called on an anchor tag on a li, then make the function in the if statement "live". (Live in a sense binds the function to the condition, but unlike bind it allows the condition to be used more then once. ) So if the class subnav_dd is the parent, and has a class of .dis then prevent anything below it from firing. CSS - If code 1 is true, then I will only get the first li to fire, the remaining ones will not.

- CODE 2 - This one is a little tricky. Function ToggleOptions takes 3 variables (target, array, state). The condition is if the div subnav + target have siblings, then check to see how many siblings are there. Put the amount of siblings into an array, then check the state of each sibling. I don't completely the rest of it.

I think if the div subnav is called and something is found in the array then the class dis is either added or removed. Then what? I don't understand why I still need the else that adds a class to #subnav_ +.target

What is happening is there are some matches for a script I made and then an area for segments during an event. If you notice on the segment part of the form is that there is a dropdown that asks for where in the event that segment needs to go. With the Introduction or the different numbered matches. What I need to happen for a subArray I need it to take the introduction, all the matches, and all the segments and order them accordingly. With the introduction first, the matches in order based off there match number and then the segments in between the introduction or matches based off the user's input.[URL]..

I am working on a page where the user will select a location from a dynamically generated dropdown list. I was able to create the php multidimensional array (tested and working) from a MySql database using the users information at login, but I'm having problems converting it to a javascript multidimensional array. I need to be able to access variables that I can pass to a number of text fields within an html form.For instance, if a user belongs to a company with multiple addresses, I need to be able to let them select the address they need to prepopulate specific text fields.

Comparing Array Values To Select Unique Array Elements?

Apr 10, 2010

This one is throwing me off! Either I am making a stupid mistake or I'm doing it totally wrong I have an array, and I am trying to select unique values from it and assign it to another array. Here is the code:

Code:
var flag;
for (i=0;i<=pdfs.length-1;i++)
{
flag = 1;
for (j=0;j<=pdfs2.length-1;j++)

[Code]...

The problem is that the if (pdfs2[j] == pdfs[i]) statement ends up never being true. There are URL's to pdf files in the array. On the other side, if there is a much easier way to select unique values from an array, please feel free to point it out.

Prototype To Sort An Associative Array On The Array Key (in Ascending Order)

Sep 1, 2010

I am building a customised javascript prototype to sort an associative array on the array key (in ascending order). Basically, I am separating the array keys into a separate array and then using .sort() to sort the keys and then reassembling the original associative array elements according to the sorted keys array.

The sorting works ok except that when I run the test code below, the outputed sorted associative array has an extra element at the end of the array whose key is the name of the prototype function and the value for that element is the function code itself. Obviously I am misunderstanding something about associative arrays or how javascript prototypes work.
