View 13 RepliesI'm relatively new to jquery, and I'm attempting to implement a "Page Curl" effect (by Elliot Kember) on my BigCommerce storefront. Here is the plugin: [URL].

I've got the jquery referenced in my HTMLHead.html page, and my scripts are all uploaded to my folder "/turn" on my site. However, I can't seem to find the right page for placement of my 'call function':
$(document).ready(function(){
$( '#target' ).fold();
});
And the 'element';
<img id="target" src="turn/code.png">
Am I placing these on the correct pages for a proper 'call' of the scripts? There are numerous pages referenced that make-up the HTMLHead.html page, and I'm finding a hard time trying to place the jquery plugin on the right pages.
i have div which is display:hide, now when i click on anchor link it set display:block, now i need help with jquery to use effect when showing that div, but i need to do that without .click on that anchor.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to jQuery and javascript but already very impressed with jQuery.I have a page divided in two columns (divs). When one clicks on the links in one column, it loads the php page in the other column. I have this working, but what i would like to do is that not only would it load the php page in the other column but also automatically scroll to an anchor in that php page

My goal is to achieve an effect to scroll a large image, something like this Flash example:

Below my result so far. It kind of works but nowhere near as smooth as i want it to be.
<html lang="en">

I need to delay a hover effect on a anchor tag, I need something that delays the hover effect when javascript is on and when it's off your still able to get the hover effect when you roll over the anchor tag.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAn Iframe exists inside a page (that has content exceeding the height,
therefore scrollbars kick in) - normal stuff.
When I want to use anchor references inside the Iframe the parent
page is affected also, in that it jumps to the top of the iframe, as though
there were an anchor at that point.
Adapting this code may not be the best method, see what you think.
I have a page where certain actions cause the page to reload and then jumps to an anchor (e.g. #title gets appended to the url) which is disorientating, I think it will soften the blow if the page scrolls to the anchor.
This is code I use to scroll to anchors with links on a page code...
I see that this is a click function. Can this just be amended so that it checks the url and scrolls accordingly?
I need to get the page to reload with the anchor in the link when it is clicked in a dropdown menu. For example if I am on 'www.domain.com/about/#2' and I then click on 'www.domain.com/about/#3' the url changes but the page doesn't reload so I need the page to reload, but keep the new anchor (#3).I gave the links with anchors a class of 'reload' and tried this:
$('a.reload').click(function() {
window.location.reload();
});
I am seeking to change the color attribute in my CSS file under the ID's #realmaturesingles and #seniorpeoplemeet upon the hovering of these links. These two ID's are initialized inside an <a> tag (these are links). How can I do this with JavaScript? This is what I tried:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$('#seniorpeoplemeet').FontEffect({
gradient:true,
mirror:true,
mirrorColor:"#CCC"
})

Im having a bit of trouble with the bounce show effect from jquery ui. To see what I mean, check out my development site. Anytime you modify a part in this computer builder, the rigth side gets updated. Right now its removing and adding list items. Problem is when click items too fast, the animation doesnt finish and the next item gets bumped lower and lower.

I have a script that scans an HTML document for headers and special comment tags for the purpose of generating a left-floating/position-fixed DIV that contains the document's outline or "table of contents." Within the DIV are lists (UL element by default) whose items (LI elements) are jump-to links (A elements) to the points (headers, special points marked for inclusion in table of contents) in the document. The problem is this. I have typical HTML document with links that jump to points (usually headers) inside the document, as shown below:
Code:
<body>
<p>This is addressed <a href="#later-text">later</a> in this document
<h1><a id="later-text"></a>Header Text</h1>
<p>...
</body>
But my script, being a document outliner that finds headers in a document, inserts another anchor as a jump-to point just before the first occurrence of text in the header (inserted A element shown in red below). This somehow disables the document-coded jump anchor (shown in blue below). And it occurs in FF and IE, which suggests it is not a browser-specific issue. Why does it occur? Is there something in the HTML spec that states that two anchors to which a jump occurs are not allowed to be adjacent elements in the document?
Code:
<body>
<p>This is addressed <a href="#later-text">later</a> in this document
<h1><a id="later-text"></a><a id="jump-1"></a>Header Text</h1>
[code]....
To reproduce what I am seeing, search for the text "Why Is A Survey Done". The first occurrence is a within-document jump-to link, which should jump to a header below it. If the script execution to generate a document outline is disabled, the jump works. But if the script is executed and the document outline generated, the jump-to link does not work.

Having a little bit of trouble with a site I'm currently working on I'm using some AJAX for the instant g-mail/facebook style navigation, you know the kind, with no refreshes, etc. Problem is, to allow for back/forward and bookmarks, I currently use a URL that looks like:[URL].. This is fine, not a problem... The issue comes into play when I want to open up the news.html page, from my home.html page, and have it open to news item #6 (for example).
I can't add a #, because one is already being used to reference the anchor for the content div. Has anyone run into a similar problem before? If so, how did you resolve it? Can some jQuery be used to find the location of the news item div in question, on load, and scroll to it like that?
[URL].. and try to click on one of the wide Buttons in the left part of the page (Dílna, Divadelní soubor II., Kalanetika etc.). The problem is, that the hidden content shows and slides out, but just after finishing the animation, it jumps a little bit back. I don't know what to modify in my CSS so that the animation behaved correctly…

I have some jquery that pulls in an image when an error is found on an input field in my form, just a red dot. You are supposed to be able to hover over this dot and it displays a message telling you what you did wrong in the form. FF works perfectly. IE doesn't. When the page refreshes with the error dot, the dot is in the wrong spot. if I put my cursor anywhere on the table it is in, the dot moves. I don't even have to get close to the dot. It jerks 100 pixels or more to the left (where it is correctly positioned). I have examined the css and the style values are identical before AND after the dot moves!How is this possible. I can't track the original wrong position becomes the style values never change!

with a div with an id of "togglecontent" and a link with an id of "fadein" in the body about halfway down the page. The toggle works well, but when you click on the link, as well as "togglecontent" becoming visible, the browser window jumps to the top of the page, which obscures some of the toggled div. Is there any way I can stop this from happening?
I am building a simple show/hide list with the jquery. It works great on IE and Firefox but in Chrome and Safari the closing menuitems shift the whole menu to the left for a second and then back to its origin. I have about 20 menuitems that each hold about 5 submenu items. The goal is to show the 5 items only on mouseover on the menuitems and then hide it once the mouse moves away.
Here is the code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
//Hide all subsubmenus
$(".subcategories").css("display","none");
});
</script>
<li><a href="/kleinanzeige-aufgeben/geschenke.htm" onmouseover=" $
('.subcategories:not(#86)').hide('fast');$('#86').show('fast');"
title="Geschenke">Geschenke</a></li>
why this background animation is jumping. Code and link are below:[url]....
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
jQuery('.program_info_2').hover(

I've implemented the jquery.combobox plugin [url] on a site [url]. The problem is that when you click on the styled comboboxes in IE, the page "jumps" down, and sometimes this pushes the combobox off screen. I know this plugin relies on the dimensions plugin, and both the jquery and dimensions plugins are the most recent version. I think this problem has something to do with the celculation of the size of the view port (as the amount this jumps seems to be related to the size of the viewport,with smaller viewports causing this to jump further).
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you go on my test site: [URL]... You will see a navigation menu at the top, with an animated ball. Every time you click on one of the links in the navigation menu, you will notice that after a new page is loaded there is a sudden jump from the balls original position to it's new position. (Not that obvious in Firefox but very obvious in IE and Safari) My question is how can I resolve this.
I assumed that wrapping the code in the $(document).ready function would elimate this issue as everything inside it will load before the page contents are loaded.

I have a series of selectboxes on a web form. I would like to have a
javascript jump the focus to the next selectbox when the user presses a key.
Each box has the values 1 through 6-9, depending. So normally someone who is
used to it can just hit 1 <tab> 3<tab> 5<tab>1<tab>9<tab> -- I'd like to
take the tabbing out.
So what's really nice is if the box doesn't jump when the user doesn't
select a proper value.
I've been looking at java scripts and I'm not sure how to reference the next
selectbox, or how to check that the key pressed was in the proper range. Can
someone help me out? Code:
