Javascript form: text link instead of button
instead of having a button as a big grey thing, is it possible to have a <a href> style text link?
I implemented some code I found online to convert a text link into a form submit button, but get an error on page message at the bottom right corner of the window AND the link does not submit. The latter part of the code is generate via a PHP echo (but I don't think the PHP is creating the error -- correct me if I am wrong)
Code:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
<!--
function getsupport ( selectedtype )[code]....
I'm using mailchimps signup box (they don't have a decent forum to ask on) on my website and want to adjust the submit button and change it to a normal link. Here's the button that submit's the form:

I am working with a php code that I am trying to edit a bit. The last part I am trying to change I cannot figure out. Essentially I want to change the "Login" submit button to just a text link that says "Login" instead.

I have a message system that I want to prevent double posting. So when a user sends a message i would like to disable the button. But its done using AJAX and will load without much time. But enough to cause double clicking. So now the button needs to be enabled once Text is put in the Form Field.

One is the default style sheet.The other is an alternative style that fires up if the user clicks a button.Here are the style sheets in the page head.
Code:
<link rel="alternate stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" title="default" href="../bandi_css_760px/global760px.css" />

I am trying to move some text by clicking a button. When clicked the button
runs the java script and this will then take the value in the text field and
add 10 to it to create a new value, this is then used to move the text
(id=h1) to a new position and to display the new value in a text field. My
script is below but does not work. Im new to javascrip and there is probably
something embarasingly obviour that Im missing. Code:
I've got a JQuery Mobile form working across multiple "pages", even though it is a single HTML file.This is done by placing the opening form tag before the <div data-role="page"id="screen1"> tag, and closing it after the final losing page div tag. Works great.Currently the form validation is properly flagging each field as the user leaves it.The only trouble I am having is making the continue button at the bottom of each screen disabled until the visible invalid fields pass validation.Here's the simplified version of the code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
[code]....
i had a text link to submit the form Ex:
<a href="#" onclick="validate(this.form,this.form.length)">submit</a>
i want to pass those values but errors occurs, this.form is not a property, but i need to pass that value because my validation requires so.
I want to use a text link to submit a form and get the POST values instead of an ugly submit button which is difficult to style. I thought it would be simple but I can't do it - whats the problem with this .js?
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#link1').click(function() {

I'm working on a web app where a profile is displayed to a user. The profile consists of data pulled from FB and LinkedIn via their respective API's. I'd like to provide the user with the ability to add more detail to the profile. I've scoured the web looking for a way to use Javascript to change an HTML element from a link to a form field but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
For example...
Profile:
Education: College Add Major
And when the user clicks the "Add Major" link, it turns into a form field. I'm not much of a front end developer but I'm working alone on this project so I have to wear a few hats.
<a href="#" onclick="document['form1'].submit(); return false" >search</a> have written the follwoing script for making a textlink to submit a formit works fine. with this i want to pass a flag or a value and retrived at the serverside

Here's my reset button code:
Here's one of my table input lines:
I thought this would be simple, but I can't seem to figure out how to target the text that the user types into an input field before he/she decides to "reset" and start over.
I'm thinking that my problem is that I can't find the correct syntax for my line: $('input.firstname').value('')
I have a popup window, and in that window i have some links
my question its:
then i click one of the link its have to copy in a form in a text field to anothersite.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have one long text field in HTML to feed text as input in my page. the entered text will be shown as output text after some operations.In this context, i need to display few text(say 200 chars) only and i need to provide READMORE link/button which would show me the complete content of that text field. I need to achieve this shortly!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form with a text field and a submit button. I don't want the form to submit if the text field is filled in correctly. for example a email address typed in the text field area. I'm working with spry validation but i guess i need to add some kind of onSubmit event, with javascript. I have some idea but not sure what to fill in by the "if statements" in the script.

I wrote this form to try to display the value of the chosen radio button on a text input.
<form>
Choose one choice...
<input type="radio" name="group1" value="5">Five<br>
<input type="radio" name="group1" value="10">Ten<br>
<input type="button" value="Get Result!" onClick="T1.value=group1.value"><br>
[Code]...
How come the onClick="T1.value=group1.value" results in undefined instead of 5 (or 10) ?
Does anyone know where I can find an ASP server side script written in
JavaScript to parse text fields from a form method='POST' using
enctype='multipart/form-data'? I'd also like it to parse the filename.
<form name='form1' method='POST' enctype='multipart/form-data'
action='sub.asp'>
<input type='text' name='title1' value='value1'>
<input type='file' name='file1'>
</form>
I found a great ASP VBScript for uploading files, but the rest of my
Web site is coded in ASP using JavaScript and I can't figure out a way
to immediately pass the text fields already parsed from server side
VBScript to server side JavaScript.
My ASP code looks like this:
<script language="JavaScript" runat="server">
//I would like to add JavaScript to parse the text field and
filename of file1 here.
</script>
<!--The 3rd party document below parses all fields from the message
content and uploads any file fields it encounters.--->
<!--#include file="aspinclude/upload.asp"-->
<script language="JavaScript" runat="server">
//Add record here (title1, filename from file1).
</script>
My first day with jquery, and I've just been playing around a little but have run in to a problem in Firefox.
I've set up a basic form with a name and a button (not submit) and one text field.
All it does right now is open an alert box when the button is clicked. That's fair enough. However, in Firefox, if I have the text field selected and hit enter, it doesn't press the button.
How would I go about making sure the enter key presses the button? I'd like to avoid using onclick and a method in the form if possible. My aim eventually is to post data and return it without a page refresh instead of create an alert box.

I have a website containing 26 subdirectories 'a' to 'z'
On the home page I want a text field and submit button
If someone for example types 'j' it will go to the 'j' folder home page
Does anyone know where I might find code like this?
I'm looking for a javascript/css code that can do the following, for a click button:
- When mouse is not over the click-button, a text should be displayed at the right of the button, in a bordered textbox - 85% transparency (hardly visible)
(- when mouse hovers over the button, the button image changes to a different one <- I know how to do this)
- When the button is clicked the text shows up normaly (0% transparency)
- When clicking again the button OR anywhere else on the page, the text goes back to 85% transparency.
I've got a pretty basic form that i need to be able to "submit" by simply loading it in the browser address, not click the submit button. is there a way to do this? Here is the code:
<form name="newform" action="/dir/submition.cfm?z=1&Myid=1" method="post">
<input type="hidden" name="userID" value="27566">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
if i load just http://www.mysite.com/dir/submition.cfm?z=1&Myid=1, it doesnt do anything because it doesnt have the userID variable, but im not sure how to include that into the address...
