JQuery :: Search Lists Does Not Expand Over The Page?
Mar 29, 2010
the scripts i made is for a search box , the problem is that the search lists does not expand over the page. its just moving the page more down. this is the script:
<script type="text/javascript">
function lookup(inputString) {
if(inputString.length < 1) {
I have a page built in Sharepoint. I need to create a little search box within that page so people can search for names on that same page. It's a page with a lot of text, hence why the search feature is needed.
I have a vertical menu at the left of my site. When you click on the main elements, they expand with jquery to show sub-elements.The problem is the menu expanded is longer than the page and it doesn't expand the page at the same time, so it goes over the bottom of the page.How do I expand the page at the same time?
I wrote below code for Collapse/Expand some sections. It is working fine. Finally If I click "Save" button and I am re-loading (refresh)page again( code in asp.net). So then sections are going default Colleapse again. I need them back to expand sections. I mean what ever user expanded should me expanded again after refresh page. How can I do that?
I have a problem where the page doesn't expand when more results get loaded via jquery on a facebook style wall. Once more results get loaded the footer stays static instead of moving down.
I have a page that lists products. i then have a list of categories with a checkbox next to each one. i want to be able to refine the products list based on the categories checked. but i want to not have to use a submit button on the form and not have to refresh the page. i know i need jquery to do this. not sure how though.
example code:
PHP Code:
So if Red is checked than it should the on the page Product 1, Product 2, and Product 4
I have a page with two divs on it, <div id="left"> and <div id="right"> . On my page, there are times when the right div is not displayed as there is no content in it, how can I get jquery to detect that div id="right" does not exist on a page so make the width of the left div to 1200px.
This is what ive found, but im not sure length is what I should be using to calculate if a div exists or not:
So its kind of complicated what I'm going to try and explain but here goes... I have a two column layout that has a thin column on the left for the menu and then a wider column on the right hand side for content.
Now the problem is that when the height content of the right hand column surpases that of the menu (left column) then I get the content that is supposed to be in the right column shifting to underneath the menu - which I do not want....
I started some programming with Javascript.I'd like to use it to expand/collapse some headers in a page. I made following code to do this.:collapse-expand.txt.That works perfect!But I want to add something, and I have some problems with that. As I have e.g. 4 headers, I want to expand the text (in <p>-tag) by clicking on header 1. When I click on header 2, I want to collapse text of header 1 and expand header 2 text.And so on.That way, I get the height of the site relatively small without needing to scroll.I don't quite know how to implement this function into my JS-code!And if it could be implemented in my .js file, how do I link that in my html, because now I have in every header the same line:<a href="#first" onClick="shoh('first');">, <a href="#second" onClick="shoh('first');">, etc..How can I get the content of header 1 be seen as soon as the screen pops up. So you don't have to click on Header1 before you can see it? And then go on from there: clicking on header2 makes text of header 1 disappear and expands text from header 2, and so on.
Code... Check out this picture.. i want to make one of my lists to be shown in this way..
whenever you click the '+' sign, the products under the main products will be displayed, and when you click the '-' sign, the products under the main products will be hidden.
I have a series of divs in 2 blocks say BLOCK1 and BLOCK2 and I want to use one click to expand/collapse all those in each block. But the code I came up with exapands all the divs in the entire page.
How do I restrict it to each block and also how do I cllapse those in each block and change the text to Collapse All. I am stumped here. Any help really really appreciated. Here is my code:
It is possible to perform a find in page search that looks at a specific link, opens the page in a new window and finds the text within that document?? Basically I regularly use an html page in work that has a list of people and their telephone numbers. I want to be able to type in a searchbox on my main page and it open the target page and find the name I am looking for? Is this possible or can you only Find In Page on the same page or another frame?
I'm trying to scroll my page to the bottom after the search results populate on the bottom. Unfortunately, it looks like my scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight) is getting executed before the search results populate or finish populating. I even tried to use deferreds to implement this but it still doesn't seem to be working. Here's the code I tried:
I've been trying to get some Ajax functionality on my rails app and have been stuck on this issue for a couple days... (new to jQuery!). My app has a form on the top of my site that acts as a search. When a user submits the form, they are redirected to a "search_users" page.
Rather than redirecting to a "search_users" page, I want the "search_users" page to load in a div called "page" on current page.. I was able to do this with my sites navigation (so when a person clicks on "home" or "about" or "contact me", nothing refreshes except a div called "pages") but not for the search form.
I have a search field on the website, and when I type a word to search, it search good, but after preforming the search, the search term from search text field disappears and become the default 'Search' word.
How can I make search term stay in search field after preforming a search ? For example, when I type into the search field 'JavaScript' I want that term to stay in search field and after the search is done.
I am using a very simple search-type page to enable users to input a model number and its page appears in a inline frame. Its not a true search as it is simply relying on a person entering the correct html page name to find it. But this works perfectly in my application.The problem I have is that I cannot get the type box to accept enter key as a submitt, only a click of the mouse will submitt the request. If enter is pressed the box loses the users input but no action is taken.I think this may be a javascript issue. I have posted the code below.
Im trying to validate a form using javascript. If there are errors in the form javascript lists them in a div tag on the top of the page. the problem is that whenever i click the submit for the first time everything is working but after i get the errors if im clicking submit again, it's submitting the form regardless of the errors...
I need to make a search box to enable the user to search for a text string on the current page. All the sources I've checked are concerned with searching the web, or tying into Google, etc.
I am having problems outputting the results from a javascript search function onto a new page.Right now I am using a javascript search script on 7 pages and it works but the results overwrite the current page that the search was initiated from.I would like it to open a new page and print out into a specific area.I've been grinding my gears at work trying to get this to display right.
I want to do drop down list where I get option value from database with search and appear information from database in same page...under drop down list option..
In drop down list option,I get warning like this continuously according to total record in database:
selected Warning:printf() [function.printf]: Too few arguments in C:\xampphtdocevaluationlist.php on line 59
