I have a function that returns an array object
like -
IsWithinGeofence(point)
{
....
...
if(some condition == true)
{
return PointsOfInterest[i];
}}
Here PointsOfInterest[i].lat = 56.45556, PointsOfInterest[i].lng = -2.5413 and i = 2;
I want to be able to store these three values into three global variables in Javascript in order to use these variables somewhere else on the same page as their source.
How do I do this ??

Is there a way in Javascript or Jquery to return an array of all objects underneath a certain point, ie. the mouse position. Basically, I have a series of images which link to various web pages but I have a large semi transparent image positioned over the top of the other images. I want to find the href of the background image that the mouse pointer clicks over.

I am trying to understand somecode. I don't think I am understanding everything correctly. Can someone confirm or add to my understanding?
Here is the code, below is my explanation:
- CODE 1 - is saying if the the class subnav_dd is called on an anchor tag on a li, then make the function in the if statement "live". (Live in a sense binds the function to the condition, but unlike bind it allows the condition to be used more then once. ) So if the class subnav_dd is the parent, and has a class of .dis then prevent anything below it from firing. CSS - If code 1 is true, then I will only get the first li to fire, the remaining ones will not.
- CODE 2 - This one is a little tricky. Function ToggleOptions takes 3 variables (target, array, state). The condition is if the div subnav + target have siblings, then check to see how many siblings are there. Put the amount of siblings into an array, then check the state of each sibling. I don't completely the rest of it.
I think if the div subnav is called and something is found in the array then the class dis is either added or removed. Then what? I don't understand why I still need the else that adds a class to #subnav_ +.target

I have this simple code for change combos based on selection.
$("#manufacturer_id").change(function(){
$.ajax({
url: 'index.php?route=catalog/product/getConsignaManufacturer&token=<?php echo $token; ?>&manufacturer_id=' + $('#manufacturer_id').val(),
[Code].....
This works perfectly. Now the mail combo have a option value="0" with title "Please select one" so if not change happen then the second combo never is activated. How when the user select the first option "Please select one" in the main combo (#manufacturer_id) I can disable the second combo?

I have researched this error/bug/mistake thoroughly with no success. I must be the only one experiencing it. Also, this takes place on every site I develop with jQuery ajax. It happens regardless of whether I use .get, .post, .ajax etc. Problem: The result returned to my ajax function always has a zero (0) appended to it.

Once again I call on the gurus after banging my head against the wall for a few hours. I use .clone to clone some elements then I get the various values in an array. All that works fine. However, I want to total up the array so I can validate the total against another value.In the code below if I put the x array in the sum such as sum(x) and alert(quantityTotal) it shows 4 as expected. If I simply alert(quantities) I get 3,1 however, if I sum(quantities) and alert(quantityTotal) I get 013 instead of the expected total of 4 I'm baffled (as usual..haha). Must be something simple I'm missing.
var quantities = [];//quantities array
$.each($('.quantity'), function() {
quantities.push($(this).val());

I have a question concerning :contains(). I use it in the following manner:
if($("div:contains('Built From')", $(itemProps)))
{
//Do stuff.
}
itemProps is DOM Element. It has a a div inside it which class is always something else however that div has either "Built From" or "Builds Into" as a text. Inside itemProps there is no other div with those words. I want to know which of those texts the div within itemProps contains. However this bit of code seems to always return true. Some goes for when I use the text "Builds Into". Even when the text is not in the div.

I'm trying to make a call to .ajax and as a result set a value in a hash (for another call to jquery-ui)
I get the data coming back fine, could put in in a text field in html but not the hash where I want it.
Here below are the parts of my code that I'm using
//setting up datepicker
$(courseStartDateHtmlId).datepicker({
.....
defaultDate : ($(courseStartDateHtmlId).val() != "") ?
[Code].....
I thought that the value of startDate would end up as the defaultDate param for datepicker. No luck. Only an obscure little message in firebug console: "missing: before statement"

I have an input textbox that I am using to create (and populate) paragraph tags below it depending on the content that is in the textbox at that very specific time. There is an add button to the right of the textbox that adds the contents and clears it for another entry.
The reason I need keyup for this is because I need to get the value of the textbox on the fly. With the example I've enclosed, it seems to output every key event since page load, and I don't want that. I want the result from the last keypress, which I will then add and start again.
