I'm creating a list of items which visually look like checkboxes. They will work similar to the ones used on eBay that allow you to select only new/used items. Mine are a little simpler though. Here is the markup:

I have strip of navigation tabs, which are marked up as a <ul> and styled to look like tabs with borders and all that. In my stylesheet I have the pseudo-classes for :link , :visited , :hover , :active and all of those work fine.
But I'd like to have the browser highlight whichever link a viewer is currently on by having Javascript activate the already defined :active pseudo-class. What's the syntax for that? Is it even possible?
I've been googling for almost an hour and havn't gotten anything.

In a nutshell, I need to set add/remove a class called 'active' to/from a link that is clicked within a DIV. So if the link has the class 'active' already assigned I need to remove it and vice versa however the issue I am having is that I have to double click the link in order for it to work!!
I'm having trouble getting a selector working. Probably best just to give you some example code:

Form that code I would expect the class of 'testclass' to be applied to the button after the link is clicked, but It doesn't seem to work. This is a somewhat contrived example. In my real application I have a form with several collapsable/expandable sections. If the fields in those form sections have values when the page loads, the section needs to be expanded, and the expand/collapse button needs to have a class of 'expaned' applied to it, if not it needs to be hidden. I can check the form fields and show the div if needed without any problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to work out the selector so I can add the class to the button.

When a link of class .edit is clicked, the overlay covers the page for an instant, then a redirect occurs to the page that should be loaded in the modal box (instead of the page being loaded in the modal). It's probably a small mistake as I can get it working the way I want using jqm 'trigger:a.edit'. The problem with this approach is that I lose the livequery power (links from ajax loaded content won't fire jqm).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have written a series of HTML/PHP pages that allow faculty to add their publications to a database to be displayed on a website running over MySQL. It words pretty good, except for one problem... At the bottom of the form, there are a series of checkboxes listing each of the faculty members as a possible author (which are stored in a table in the database). The problem is that when the authors are written to the database, they are stored in their order of occurance in the authors table, not the order "checked" on the submission form. This is a problem because the primary author of the paper is not being listed first.
If I understand it correctly, when the form is posted, there is an array housing which checkboxes are selected is passed. How can I record the checkboxes into that array in the order they are clicked. Does this make any sense?

So, I have this menu set up that reduces the opacity of all but the hovered link. It works fine, but it's a video playlist, and I realized that I need to make sure that this style persists after the link has been clicked.I can figure out how to add a class on click, but how to combine the two? How can I set it up so that, if the link doesn't have the class .selected, the opacity will be at 0.3. Unless, of course, it's being hovered over.I'm in a little over my head here.
