i tried a lot to load an external html into a div using .load() in chrome (it works in ff, ee, safary and opera). interesting point is online examples are working fine. but when i download the codes, chrome can not load external data on my machine!

I have 2 page. one of them,is gallery.html and another one, is index.html.i want to load the content of the gallery page into <div id="content-gallery"></div> in index.html.I use the fallowing code :

but it works only in IE8,FF, and safari. It doesn't work in chrome and opera (latest version).In opera and chrome, when i click on <a id="gallery">show gallery</a> it show only a bank page.i use jQuery Library v1.3.2.
I'm using the Google AJAX APIs, but some reason google.load works when run through normal javascript, but if I call the method from my jquery ready function it doesn't work. Code and output is below

window.loadFirebugConsole is not a function If I comment out line 3 in code.js, the console debug runs okay, so the ready function is running okay. Even though there's a reference to Firebug, the same error occurs in Safari too. Nothing on the page loads.

I am using the $(load) function to populate a div in my HTML with form. The code snippets look something like this.

The form loads fine, but the input controls no longer work once the form is loaded using this AJAX technique.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just discovered Jquery just yesterday... I was looking for another way to display a website menu (simple HTML with javascript code) instead of an iframe. I found an amazing solution using Jquery on a Yahoo! answer page.
I have no idea what's wrong because the "external HTML file" simply do not appear in Chrome 12... Nothing!
I'm sure this is not a HTML coding error issue because my code complies HTML 5 (I used the W3C Markup Validation Service ) AND everything(display and behavior)works extremely fine on Explorer 9, Safari 5 and Firefox 4.
My "main HTML file" only contains a fixed background image... and will be the template for all page of my site for specific content.
My"external HTML file" (the site's menu) only contains a 3 rows table (for positionning) and an unordonned link list with onmouseover and onmouseout javascript calls.
The javascript code is stored in an external .js file.
The css code is stored in an external .css file.
I use thecurrent minified version ofJquery.
All these files are in the same local folder.

I've been trying to load some tags using .load. I was testing with Chrome and never got any results back - I just tried the same code with Firefox and it works - where's the problem ? Am I doing something "almost" correct, that firefox allows and chrome doesn't? I cannot see any errors in the console either

This works in Firefox but will not in chrome. In chrome the .css works and changes the cursor to the hand on hover however .attr does not work it doesn't put the onclick attribute on any of the images.
The Demo in Chrome 6.0.472.25 dev renders all the examples inoperable. It works in Firefox and Explorer with this url to my hard drive.[URL]

I tried to solve this months ago, and I discovered downlevel versions of Chrome worked. Which one?? I don't remember, but after upgrading Chrome the jQuery UI Demo always stopped working. I tried many different machines, all with the same result

It works great with all the browsers except for chrome. In Chrome, the ajax-loader image displays.Then it disappears which means that the setTimeOut function has been implemented. But then it displays nothing. So I don't know whether the browser has even entered the 'go' function or not.
Have a light box script I built and it works fine in IE, FF, Opera but in both Google Chrome and Safari the image doesn't load if you try to fire it again. In easier terms, if you click on the image that fires the event and shows the 'super sized' image in the light box it works fine the first time. If you then close the lightbox and click on the image again the lightbox shows up but there is no image. I even added some alerts to see what was happening and in IE, FF & Opera both the alerts fire all the time, in Safari and Chrome they both fire the first time but the second time only the 1st alert fires.

After solving some backwards incompatible stuff, we upgraded to 1.5 today, but the following bit of code does not seem to be working on Chrome. It used to work using jQuery <1.5, but fails on 1.5+, and only in Chrome (works perfectly on FF still...

I use this code to create a div element with inside a text and a button, for than adding this div in a cell of the jquery grid. Everything works fine with firefox and IE instead in chrome I found out with alerts that only the click of the button is added, the other handlers like change and keyup NO or are not triggered.

I found error... In POST variables passed to ajax.php I had 'content': content and content is probably jQuery reserved word (and this variable wasn´t define before). But I don´t know why that works in FF.
I use a subnav and subsubnav with the following code. It works in all popular browsers as desired, except in Chrome (latest version), which don't open subnav-2I've tried several methods without success. The classes subnav-1 and subnav-2 are li elements. I'm using my custom component that has a combo box (jsf's h:selectOneMenu, which has a onselect event)in it and it already has a onchange event, so I want the onchange event to trigger another onselect event with jQuery and it only works in Firefox.
I tried it without the component and it looks like this:

and again works only in Firefox, and not IE and Chrome. It works with onblur event, but the onselect is closer to what I need.
Is it not working because the html <select> tag doesn't have a select event but Firefox can do it for some reason?
