I have two selectboxes. I just want it something like this, when I select a value in my first selectbox the second selectbox will show. And when I select different value on my first selectbox, my second selectbox will hide. Meaning, there is one value in my first selectbox that has the ability to show the second selectbox.

I am using an xml file to pull in data to jqm. I am appending the first and last name to a listview. (I am working with Datazombies example for the a-z index contact list from the iscroll git hub). How would I specify where to append ie, if the lastname is Adams (or anything that begins withletter A) Adams is appended under the listdivider with ID of A.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to automatically select a specific checkbox when a user clicks
(selects) a specific item in a radiobutton group. Both controls are in
the same form.
Let's say for argument's sake that the form looks like this
(inessential items left out for the sake of clarity):
<form name=form1>
<input type=radio name=Radio1 value=Option1>
<input type=radio name=Radio1 value=Option2>
<input type=checkbox name=Checkbox1>
</form>
I want to write some Javascript to automatically select the "Checkbox1"
checkbox when a user selects "Option1" in the radio button group.
I've got a form that automatically fills in fields based of an employee name. What happens is, the admin start to type the Emps name, a autocomplete shows up, and once the select the employees name, the form is filled in with their DB data. Now in FF, this works perfectly, but in IE6 and IE7, it acts differently. When i use the split command in JS, FF interprets 'null' vars but it seems IE does not. So if a field is null, IE will populate that field with the next available data.

Not sure if this should have went into the php or javascript forum. I am trying to setup a script that will automatically population a html selection option based on the choice of the previous selection. If hard code everything it will work fine example manufacturer is currently being populated dynamically when the pages loads. The issue is I am can't pass pass the manufacturer variable through to be processed to only retrieve the models for that manufacturer. The code also uses a standard ajax script which httprequest in it.

My code (below) works if I place the selectBoxes in different cells on a table. However, what I want is only ONE selectbox displayed at a time, not the 3 different select boxes in 3 different table cells of the table.
I initially want the citySelect to display, but if user clicks option [-- change country --], then the citySelect is REPLACED by the countrySelect. Then, on making a country selection, the countrySelect is REPLACED by a new citySelect which is populated with the new city list.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function loadCities(countryID){
if(countryID == "") {

How would I put this together so,
<input name="input1" type="text">
<input name="input2" value="whatever is typed into input1" type="text">
I would like to be able to type something in input1, and see it type

I am currently using change and keyup to trigger a div loading process according to the select box. This works fine, when only mouse is used on the box. However, when the selection is made using arrow keys, this is what happens: Target div gets loaded fine, but when I click anywhere on the freshly loaded div content, it blinks. My guess is that change event is triggered after keyup, when it is not needed anymore. Is there an event or combination of events that detect selection change with both keys and mouse? Here's my simplified code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#select_box").bind("change keyup", function(){
$("#result_div").load("some_data.php");
});
});
</script>
<script language="javascript">

Im using a jQuery script to show/hide a div based based on the selection made via a dropdown.
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
The problem im having is that the value used in the dropdown lists are price values eg 10.00
Consequently jQuery seems to interprit these as css notations, meaning the code doesnt work.
Given the following input tag which is enclosed within a hidden div tag:<input id="X" class="Y"/> this call (id-based) locates the tag: $(this).find("#X")but this one doesn't (class-based)I couldn't find any documentation indicating find() working differently when using id-based vs class-based selectors.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwe probably all know the problem that select boxes under IE are always
overlap DIV layers. Afaik there are two workarounds:
1. hiding the select box
2. IFrame beneath the DIV layer
But I don't know how to do that.
We want to show a DIV layer as tooltip.
The DIV layer has no defined size (neither a width nor a height
attribute). The size depends on the text the user defined for the tooltip.
My questions:
1. How can I know when the tooltip is 'over' a select box, so I can hide it.
2. How can I define an IFrame that has the same size as the tooltip,
when I don't know the tooltip's size?

I have a long list of options in multiple selectbox. The selectbox gets a scrollbar in that situation.
Does anybody know if it is possible to scroll through the options with javascript? eg: moving the to the first selected option?? Any samplecode, API, pointers?
how can i generate selectbox dynamically using javascript.
what i mean is
for(int i=0;i<10;i++)
{
<select name="list" id="listid"><option>1</option></select>
}
every time i have to change the id of select tag.
I have a select box whose options are populated from an xml file,which works fine for showing one option at a time, but what I would like to do is have one of the selections to be to show all of the options at the same time. At the moment I have it working with a checkbox that works off a separate piece of code, but it would be great to have that option within the select box.
